Still wonderful, and yes, it looks better with tan windows. I didn't notice the 'PUSH' signs on the rear windows before. A welcome message to burglars? :)

Like so many others have said: I do envy you all that space. Lack of space is the number one issue for my Lego collection right now - it's squeezing me out of my apartment :)

Nice pharmacy! I like the colour combination, white and dark green work very well together. Your mailbox solution is clever, the big dark green windows on the first floor look good, and you've done a good job on the interior - the only things I'm not too sure about are the contents of the shelves on the ground floor. It looks a bit too much like a gift shop to me - in my experience, the shelves of pharmacies are normally stacked full, not filled with exhibited items... You could also work a bit more on your photos - a few of them are so blurry that it's hard to see what's in them. Just try harder - snap four pictures of each item instead of one (the benefits of digital photography), and you're more or less bound to get one that's usable :) That said, most of the pics are fine, and you should consider deeplinking a couple of them. That makes your post much more appealing to readers! Wow, that's quite a list. Looking forward to your upcoming creations!

Lovely vignette. You don't even need to read the description to understand what's going on :)

What a great street scene. Your 2CV would look brilliant in any layout, but the phone booth is also a very nice touch. And I really love the tower building. Well done!

Thanks a lot! How blind am I, having placed more than 400 BL orders, and still not noticing the box dimensions are stated for every set?

Lovely scene and some really, really wonderful trees. That's a clever way of doing it, and the earthy colours suit this build very well - the dark green makes the scene looks so much better than it would with regular green.

Hi there - I don't want to read the review (yet) as I feel it spoils a bit of the fun in building the set, and thus I may have missed this if you've already written it - in that case I apologize for asking unnecessary questions. But does anybody have a chance to measure the box? I'm planning to pick up this and the Winter Village Post Office when I'm going to London in a couple of weeks, and I'd like to know if there's any chance that they'll fit in my backpack...

Agreed. Somebody may have thought of this way of making a snowmobile before, but I haven't seen it anywhere else before, and it's simply brilliant.

I'm not that much into Castle, but I have got the MMV and it's wonderful. I'll probably be picking up the Joust set as well, but from the pictures I've seen so far I like MMV much better - plus, the same point that's being repeated over and over in this topic: It's the older set of the two, and is likely to be discontinued soon - maybe even as soon as the Joust set is available in January...

While the buildings themselves are very nice, what really stands out to me is the use of colours. The red and blue works wonderfully well together, and I agree with LT that there's nothing obviously wrong with your tan and blue building. But I know the feeling that there's something wrong with it, you just can't decide on what it is - it's very annoying :) normally, in my case, it's the roof that's wrong. Maybe that's it? :)

This is really nice, I like it a lot! The scale is perfect and fits right in any City layout that is based on current sets, and I love all the detailing. Not too sure about the two different kinds of windows next to each other on the sides of the cabin, but I can see that it would be difficult to do it any other way without getting holes somewhere. All in all: Top notch, and superb for a first venture into City territory as an AFOL...!

I'm a bit surprised that you have so little faith in Lego's designers! In pretty much all my vehicle MOCs I use that narrow gap between the wheels and the arches, and it's no problem. The key here is which tyre you use: The 87697, Tire Offset Tread Small Wide - Band Around Center of Tread, or the old version, 6015, Tire Offset Tread Small Wide, will fit quite nicely without touching the sides of the arches. The problem arises when you use 60700, Tire 20mm D. x 12mm - Offset Tread Small Wider, Beveled Tread Edge - which will give you the no-roll issue unless you add another plate between the axle plate and the arches. The keyword really is "wide" versus "wider". Wide will fit, wider won't, simple as that! :)

MOD & MOC: Americanized Emerald Night with full train, mail cars
L@go replied to Lord Insanity's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice, huge and imposing! I like it, especially all the cars and what you've done with the roof sections. Makes me want to set up my own EN with the three cars and caboose that I've got - but I haven't really got the room at the moment... -
Agreed. I was there in June and will be going back next month. The staff were very friendly and offered impeccable service, and the shop was well stocked.

I'm going to London next month and will be picking this up from the Westfield store. It's £20 cheaper than buying it from S@H in Norway, so it makes perfect sense :) On a side note, I can't believe the typo in the topic title STILL hasn't been corrected...

MOC: Alvis TA 28
L@go replied to marcosbessa's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Unless I'm very much mistaken, Mr. Bessa is a professional Lego designer, employed by Lego, working at the Lego offices in Billund... so the chances for something like this to be produced are probably much higher than the chances of anything getting 10,000 votes on CUUSOO in the foreseeable future :) -
Support the bringing back of Cafe Corner and Market Street
L@go replied to iKonoKlasT's topic in LEGO Town
You are correct. The number was 1000 originally, but grew to 10,000 for the international version. -
My thoughts exactly. Great idea!

That's just great. I can't really see how you're possibly ever going to match your previous amazing creation, though - that gorgeous trawler - but you may still have something up your sleeve. And this is a wonderful creation, too.

Chili's Restaurant 2.0 and Pet shop alternative model
L@go replied to brickcitydepot's topic in LEGO Town
I love the updates to your restaurant. I built your original version not long ago - it's sitting right on top of my piano at the moment, in my modular street - and really liked it, but thought it would have been nice if the interior was a bit more detailed. Now you've done just that; the bar and toilets are very nice additions. I also like the exterior very much, just the way I liked the original - the brickwork is what really makes this pop, in my opinion. What I really missed on the original, though, were a couple of windows on the back wall. The kitchen is almost like a bunker, with no openings (apart from the door) letting light in. I think a window or two (in the new version, with the toilets, you don't really have room for more than one) would make it even better. As for the other buildings, my favourite is the narrow corner building. That's a very good idea. -
I was waiting for that one. Love the hot rod - this is my favourite of the Forest Police sets.
-
Like I said on Flickr, I really like this. The overall design is very, very nice, and if you've seen this, it shouldn't come as a surprise that I love the colour scheme, too :)

Fantastic new pictures, Grogall! But I'm very much missing what will probably be my favourite City set of 2012, the crooks' hideout with that wonderful hot rod. No hi-res pics of that one yet, then?
