    Winter Village: Inn

This is lovely! I had a very similar idea and started playing around in MLCad, but realised I just wouldn't be able to finish on time - and there's no way I'd have come up with anything close to this. The big round bay window is nice, and the Christmas lights above it - and the car is very nice, too. Best of luck in the contest, I wouldn't be all that surprised if this turns out to be good enough to repeat last year's result... :
  2. Yeah, I thought the same thing, since nobody else mentioned it :)
  3. Get a grip and buy it already! Apart from the rarest parts, there's no reason why postponing your CC build would make it more expensive, or any more difficult to piece together. The Toy Shop, on the other hand, won't be around forever. As long as you can afford it, and so on...
  4. A very nice entry, and as others have said, it fits very well with the rest of the series, with its sub-sets and all. The wreath seller is a very good idea, and my favourite detail is the sheaf of grain on the lamppost :)
  5. So many great details. I really, really like this - best of luck in the competition! (I was going to say "I love the boy scouts" but the sentence struck me as very strange when I saw it written out...)

    MegaMOC 2011

An absolutely stunning diorama, and a lovely home for all your excellent vehicles. I have to say that the yellow hot rod is a very nice new acquaintance! The buildings are top notch, and I really like that Esso station. And with all the minifigs there's so much life in the scene. Fabulous!
  7. And you waited three and a half YEARS to make your first post?? Welcome to Eurobricks! :)
  8. But I can, and I can highly recommend a visit to anyone who wants to see a few very nice buildings (and some truly spectacular interiors) - just click here! Looking through the pics I noticed the wonderful clock. Are those original or custom stickers? And which set did they come from, if they're from Lego? And let me repeat: Your interiors are superb. I try to cram as much detail into my own buildings as possible, but the quality of that furniture you're building is just... wow! Love the yellow-tan house and the police station as well, and again, particularly the interiors.
  9. Lovely! Like you say, it's way too piece-consuming to be something that Lego would sell. But if they did, I sure would buy it...
  10. You finally found the courage? Well, no need to worry! This is a great modular building - I love the round corner! And while the outside is really nice - especially, I have to say, the roof section, which is something I always seem to struggle with on my own modulars - the interior is fabulous. So many wonderful details to be inspired by. A big welcome to Eurobricks, and please continue to post your MOCs. If this is anything to go by, we're in for some treats in the future :) Why not add a link or two? I'd love to have a look around your Flickr, if you'd make it easier to find!
  11. Haha! Made me smile - very well made, Mr. Sava! A merry Christmas to all fellow Train Techies!
  12. Yes, but there is no colour called solely "bluish grey" - or "bley" - there are two versions: Dark bluish grey and light bluish grey. Or, if you like, dark bley and light bley.
  13. I've got this little set with the old life jackets, so it's obviously (as has also been reported with some other sets) been released with the old ones first, and then re-issued with the new type. I agree that the new ones look ridiculous - but the reason isn't that the head sits any higher with the new ones (it doesn't), it's that the new ones are open in front. That said, the solution is quite obviously to make the neck cutout wider, and as I've said in some other posts about the same issue, I'm really surprised that Lego has put an "unfinished" part on the market like this... No, it hasn't: But how visible the flaw is depends on the colour of the torso, I think.
  14. Nice changes! The trucks looked great before, and now look even better :) At some point in January, I'll probably be posting a new batch of cars of my own. In that batch I'll be including two or three four-to-six-wide conversions that I'd designed in LDraw before you created this topic, that I haven't brick-built yet. I'm looking forward to what you'll come up with next!

    MOCs: ER0L's Cars

My thoughts exactly! This is just too big in comparison to everything else, but if one should build cars without thinking about the town they'd have to fit in, the scale and dimensions are just about right, and the cars are all very well-designed. With four-wide cars (plus mudguards and wheels) the dimensions are definitely a bit off - but that's Lego for you :)
  16. A clever design, and just like the real thing. Well done!
  17. Maybe this'll add a bit of interest to the bag building idea: A set that a lot of you probably haven't managed to get your hands on yet :) I quite like this set - I don't care much for the ATV, but the pickup truck is nice, especially the colour. I also got 4436, the patrol car, but that came in two separate bags, so no bag build there. Oh, and I built 7938 the other day - and discovered that opportunities arise everywhere :)
  18. Any particular reason for simply repeating something that's stated in the first post? Or are you just trying to bump your post count? Strange behaviour.

    MOCs: ER0L's Cars

Your cars are just a tad too big and wide for my taste. That said, I'm not one to ignore how you're doing a really good design job within the scale you've created for yourself. Your cars have a very nice aggressive touch to them - for example the front of the police car. Menacing!
  20. A very nice design for the hotel, and I like your beach a lot - the clean lines of the entire MOC really appeal to me. You shouldn't be ashamed of your photography, either, I don't see much wrong with that! Agree with Fede78 though, the stripes should be vertical. But maybe it's really a Hungarian hotel, who knows? :)
  21. I can't recall any specific problems with the orders from ChromeBricks, so unless I'm mistaken the pieces arrived in separate zip-lock bags. Regarding 1001bricks, the packaging is always immaculate, with pieces divided into zip-lock bags. Never a problem there.
  22. I have experience with both of them - as I live in Norway, the shipping time to me and the shipping time to you is probably going to be quite different, but as far as I can tell, it's always been quite quick. I've placed a few orders with ChromeBricks and consider them trustworthy and good, and 1001bricks is, in my opinion, one of the very best sellers on BrickLink. Highly trustworthy, selling bricks of very good quality, and always reasonable on shipping. I'd be very surprised if you encounter any problems with any of these orders.
  23. My opinion? Get it. I think it's the best modular that's been released thus far, and I've got them all. I would be very surprised if you were to regret it later.
  24. Have you considered a Lego version of the Carbon Motors E7?
  25. I've seen them all before, but that doesn't make them any less lovely. The Crown Vic is my favourite, with the Focus a close second - both of them are instantly recognisable. I like the "police cars from around the world" idea - how about an Aussie one, like Lightningtiger suggests, and maybe a Norwegian (or Swedish) Volvo station wagon - maybe an 850 from a few years back? Shouldn't be too hard, with its Lego-friendly angles :)
