  1. Don't get me wrong, I think it's an absolutely lovely creation, and one that I'd love to add to my own Winter Village setup! The only reason I brought it up is because I interpreted it as an entry for the Expand The Winter Village contest, and as such I'd expect it to be an original idea rather than something that so obviously draws inspiration from something else. But I don't underestimate the building skills needed to transfer the ideas from the model into Lego!
  2. I have trouble understanding how this suddenly ended up in the Technic forum... there's not much Technic about it.
  3. I love the idea and the colours - it's a bit disappointing that you've merely copied another concept, but what a nice concept it is, and you've stuck to the original idea. It looks like something that would easily fit in with the official WV buildings.
  4. Like I already said on Brikkelauget: It's brilliant, and for a first attempt at this scale it's amazing. Well done. EDIT: And by the way, I just realised that if you'd built it in yellow, you could actually have used this part in the middle of the bootlid :)
  5. Thanks again for your comments! I've just ordered a new bunch of bricks for a new batch of vehicles, so we'll see what you think about those. I'm very happy with the way at least two or three of them look in MLCad, so I'm looking forward to realising them 'in the brick' :) Thanks! While some designs - like my orange Longnose and the lime green Shooting Brake - work really well in your eight-wide scale (they look a little less weird and crazy, and much more realistic) I think the MPV van looks too squashed compared to the width. Regarding the visors - no, unfortunately I think black is the closest I'm going to get :) I agree that it turned out very well, but I must repeat that it is more or less a copy of Polish Guy's design!
  6. That's a real achievement. Well done, boys :)
  7. I voted for the Dirt Bike Transporter, because it brings back fond memories of 6677. I generally like all five sets, but there are things I strongly dislike with 4431 and 4432: The use of stickers instead of grille tiles, the ridiculously tall steering wheel in 4432 (just like in 4643), and the use of 1x2 plates with handle/1x2 tiles instead of proper suitcases in 4431. Sloppy designing, if you ask me, and not what I expect from such skilled people as Lego's designers.
  8. This is getting off-topic, but as a big fan of Flickr I have to ask what you mean when you say that the pictures cannot be downloaded. I have no problems downloading images from Flickr (although I don't bother; I prefer to watch them online)... PM me if you don't know how to do it, and I'll happily tell you. Now back on topic: Personally, as I have a broadband connection, I don't mind there being many (or large) pictures in a post. If there isn't, and the MOC interests me, I'll happily go to another site to watch more - and I much prefer Flickr to what I feel is the hopelessly old-fashioned and user-hostile interface of Brickshelf. But that might just be me...
  9. Yeah, I was just going to say the same thing. It was one of the things that just made me lose my patience with IE. It's just working too slow and tends to crash far too often. So I switched to Firefox - highly recommended.
  10. This is pure class! I love the exterior - to call it a variation on the Green Grocer is a bit harsh, I think it's much more than that :) - but the interior is just as good, and you've got just about the right amount of detail, it's not plain, and not over the top. Plus, it fits in so well with the official buildings. Great job, I hope to see "just another modular" soon!
  11. That's very nice! Wouldn't want to buy my hot dogs there, though - the owner looks a bit too grumpy and that rat makes me wonder what kind of meat he's really selling...
  12. A picture would really help, but I think cimddwc is right - as far as I can tell from the instructions there aren't any lights attached to Technic bricks anywhere...
  13. Boy, you've got some nerve. Have a look at this thread to find out how your fellow Eurobrickers feel about the kind of trick you're pulling. Hoexbroe: Well spotted.
  14. Well, I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Your work is incredible. The amount of detail is fantastic, the whole street is just so monumental, and your building style is easily on par with - or better than - anything that's yet been released as an official modular set. I'm a bit shocked to hear that you've sold it all off (I don't think I could ever do that with the stuff I've built, it feels too personal), but I guess that's a good chance to start all over again - and that can only be good for us fans :)
  15. Thank you! At the moment, I just don't have the time (I'm, among other things, trying to get rid of a lot of old Town stuff). Instead, let me suggest that you try a bit of reverse engineering to find out how I did the engine on the Rat Rod (I've done the same, because my Rat Rod is a copy of Polish Guy's 'Voodoo Psychosis' - see link in the original post)... so have a look, I'm sure you can work it out! And in my opinion, that can be quite fun, too - and a part of the learning process :) The Supercar is a bit more tricky to work out, I admit - mainly because it's six-wide and there are details that you can't see. I'm going to have to get back to that later.
  16. Hi there! Background story: When I emerged from my "dark ages" about four years ago I dove in very eagerly. I was very fascinated by a) BrickLink and b) all the sets I had never seen before, especially rarer sets from my own childhood. As a result, I acquired a whole lot of sets – many of them pieced together through BrickLink, and some that I bought as sets, but which I assume are copies pieced together by others; and I also bought quite a few (more or less) complete sets. Since then, my taste has turned towards newer stuff, and I've also started MOCing more, in the modern City style, which means that if I ever get the room to build a layout (we'll see) I won't be using the old sets. So now they're just occupying valuable space – and it's time to sell. I've sorted the sets and put them in ziplock bags. They are now entirely complete, as I've bought all missing pieces via BrickLink. Some of them come with instructions, but most of them don't; some have all the correct stickers, others have some correct stickers, some have substituted stickers, and others again have no stickers at all. See the list below for details on any particular set. The bricks vary in quality – after all, they're used, but I've sorted out the worst ones, although there's probably the odd yellowed white brick – and I can't guarantee that they're entirely correct for the different time periods (i.e. plates could be with or without holes in the studs on the reverse side, clips may not have the correct thickness and so on) but what I can guarantee is that all the bricks are now present. So we're, in most cases, talking about sets that are probably not of huge interest for collectors who like everything to be correct and in perfect condition. But it could be a good opportunity to build some rare sets – I enjoyed it hugely – and maybe these sets could be interesting as toys instead of collectors' items (after all, that's what they were made for...). You'll find pictures of all the sets here – apart from three sets which I forgot to snap pics of: 6353, 6689, and 8835. These are the sets I'm selling – and bear in mind that this is a mixture of copies and original sets, but as a rule the rarer sets are probably copies. Note also that the sets may be missing pieces in the pictures – don't worry, the pieces have since then been ordered, and all the sets are sold in complete condition - except for stickers and, in the case of set 6589, a baseplate that I never got when I bought the set originally. All the sets may contain dust :) 105 - Canada Post Truck: Without instructions. See picture. $ 7.00 Please note that I most likely won't be interested in selling these sets one by one, unless they're big. If you're interested, PM me. The prices are based on BrickLink prices, but I've generally aimed a bit lower than the cheapest set for sale on BL, since quite a few of these probably are copies – and if you're interested in buying several sets, let me know and we'll work out a discount. If you'd be interested in taking all (or most of) these sets off my hands, the discount would be very nice. Oh, and keep in mind that I live in Norway. Could be nice for you to know, I guess.
  17. While I'm no expert on these parts, I'm absolutely 100% sure that the part you're referring to is not what the OP is after - for starters, it's approximately three studs wide, versus the one that the OP posted, which is two studs wide. The one he's got is old, the other one is much newer.
  18. Here's a link to the instructions. The only sculpture set I've built is 3450 Statue of Liberty, which is a highly sought-after set and therefore sells for ridiculous prices on eBay and BrickLink. It's also got a massive piece count and is a fantastic build. The thing to do if you want to build this is to get the bricks in a different colour than the expensive sand green that the original is made from, although at 2,282 pieces it's going to be expensive either way. But I'll definitely recommend it :)
  19. Is there a particular reason why you don't simply write an email to the address I mentioned above and ask your questions directly to the people behind the Peeron site - instead of asking people on here, most of whom don't have anything to do with the Peeron site? Just wondering... :)
  20. Have a look at the bottom of any Peeron page. You'll find this text: Probably a good place to start!
  21. If you keep a search going on eBay you might be able to do a nice deal. I bought one about 15 months ago, after having bid on several others without luck, and ended up paying $600 for a near-mint example (plus shipping and Norwegian VAT, so around $770 in total). I didn't get the box, but the bricks looked almost untouched. And obviously I built a base for it - so now it really towers in my living room (right next to the Eiffel Tower, for which I paid $190 three years ago). I absolutely love it and I can't imagine myself ever selling it.
  22. Hi there! I think this is a good idea. Unfortunately, I have to get to work (yeah, I know, on a Sunday), so I can't stay, but I just thought I'd drop a line so you didn't feel so alone :) have a nice day!

    MOCs: ER0L's Cars

I really like the rear design of your muscle car. But the Corvette just tops it all - it's easily your best yet, and as I said on Flickr, your design skills are improving very rapidly. Well done!
  24. I agree, that semi design is very nice. I'd really like to see that one 'in the brick'.
  25. I like it - that's a clever solution. Didn't see that coming! The bunk bed is also a nice addition.
