  1. Nice. I'm sure it will be even better then!
  2. All three parts of your entry are very well designed, the idea is good, and you've chosen the colours well. I think I'd probably add another window to the bay window, so that the extended part is four-wide instead of two - that way it would look more consistant with the floor above it. But is there no interior? That's a bit disappointing, as all the official Winter Village buildings have interiors. Oh, and how did she manage to get out onto the balcony? :)
  3. And as you will probably say it again, please let me correct your French, in the Friendliest way: Vive la difference. Viva is Spanish :)
  4. I personally think that the design evolution of Town sets into the City sets we have today has been a step in the right direction, so I prefer the modern ones. But I did grow up with a lot of the classic sets of the 80s and the early 90s, and your designs are spot-on as companions to those - so well done! That said, what I'm even more impressed with is your photography. Crisp and clear and with wonderful true colours. Superb.
  5. Thanks, but I don't have any problems finding the Flickr page. I was just suggesting that he add the link to his first post, to make it easier for people who aren't as super quick as you and I :)
  6. Awe-inspiring :) and incredibly huge. I'm with the others on this, it's very impressive. How about adding a link to your Flickr in the first post? I'm sure you'll get a bunch of extra visitors...
  7. Oh, I see now that I misunderstood your question. I thought you were asking about Lego street art in general...
  8. I tried purchasing this from the Romanian webshop, but it's impossible to register anything else than Romania as home country... which is a slight problem. So I guess I'll have to wait :) but I am most certainly going to buy this. It's gorgeous - and although I see the resemblance with the Fire Brigade, it's much more grand and imposing. I'm excited! Mr. Berard already has an account here on Eurobricks, but if he was 'leaking' images it might be a better idea to create a new, anonymous username :) so I guess there's always a possibility... That's a funny coincidence! The cake toppers are from 2011, though :) They are. Sir von Lego stated in a post in the Star Wars forum in early December that the price was going to be GBP 149.99, compared to the 132.99 price of the Grand Emporium. And he was dead right about the piece count, so I'd be surprised if the price isn't spot on as well!
  9. That office employee has got the hairpiece from the Flamenco Dancer in CM series 6. A first in a regular set, I believe :) Edit: Is that a new torso on the bride? I don't think it's the same as the one from last year's bride and groom set... And obviously, this is where the images came from. Looks like a Romanian Lego webshop...
  10. You have to remember that the Pet Shop is by far the lowest modular thus far, too. Next to the Fire Brigade, with its tower, it probably won't look quite as imposing.
  11. That's fantastic! And there's no 'Confidential' stamp on them either, so there's no reason that they should be removed...
  12. Deleted post.
  13. If you'd care to send me the images I'd be happy to upload them to Brickshelf and share them that way... :)

  14. Oh yes baby. I like the look of that! It's very tall - which explains the high piece count. But the image is so small... don't you have any bigger? Thanks anyway - this is certainly going into my collection. And welcome to Eurobricks - what a way to introduce yourself :)
  15. There's always this... :)
  16. It's just that the BrickLink standard and the Peeron standard (and the official Lego standard) for naming bricks doesn't quite match. On BrickLink, these parts are called Plate, Modified 1x2 with Door Rail and Brick, Modified 1x4 with Groove. For example, if you wanted to go for black pieces, there are currently 594 sellers offering the modified brick and 669 sellers offering the modified plate for sale... so you just have to know where (or, more correctly, how) to look!
  17. It's definitely not a problem to fit 2766 pieces onto a 32x32 footprint - I've done two big modular MOCs, both on a baseplate that size, and both with more than 3000 pieces. There's always the possibility to expand the building backwards all the way to the edge of the baseplate, which hasn't been done before with an official modular, but I most certainly think that's much more likely than changing to 48x48. I can see the designers coming up with something sized 32x48 (16x32 x3), though. And like most of you other guys are saying: I'll buy it anyway. It'll be good :)
  18. Erling is quite a common first name in Norway (but probably even more so in Denmark), so I just wondered where you got the name from. And after just a little bit of googling I found out that Erling Dideriksen invented the headlight brick in 1979 :) What will I do with all this useful knowledge that I acquire?
  19. Erling? Where did that come from?
  20. I agree. I'd love to get a chance to view some of your ships up close some day.
  21. My thoughts exactly. Pet Shop, Police Station, Maersk Train, Passenger Train, Winter Post Office, Mill Village Raid, Family Home, Diagon Alley, Robie House... and a Tower Bridge (albeit on sale)... plus, I bought new pieces to build a massive pedestal for my Statue of Liberty... and it's only this year that I've actively started MOCing, so I've bought tons of pieces for that as well... no, don't want to think too hard about it! Currently in the process of packing old sets into plastic bags for resale, though, so hopefully I'll make some money in 2012 as well - because I'm not all that certain that this year will be any less costly.

Thanks again for your comments! I really appreciate you letting me know what you think of it. Didn't think of that at all. I see your point, however it seems to bug you more than it bugs me, so they're staying :) nevertheless, thank you for your opinion!
  23. Thank you for that. It appears that he has already been notified about this thread. For those of you who want to read that post, but don't know German, I can translate it roughly: He says that he's now got hold of copies of the instructions, that it's interesting to see his own models like that, and that the instructions seem to be well-made. Miran Pris, as the copycat is called, has obviously studied pictures of the models very carefully. But details that are not visible in the pictures, not least the staircases, have been recreated in very strange ways - and he says he's not sure that the corner tower on the café will be buildable at all the way it's designed in the instructions. He also says - like I have stated before - that he can't just publish these instructions and make them available for everyone (it's a matter of copyright - even though the original creation belongs to stefauster, Miran Pris legally owns the copyrights on his instructions, strange as it may seem) but that he's currently making his own instructions for his buildings. Which seems like a very good counter-measure. Lastly, he says, "Please don't buy any more instructions from Miran Pris." I don't know how much money would suffice, but in the 1000steine thread somebody's done a quick count of how much money Miran Pris probably has made so far - he's sold 1057 building instructions at 6 Euros a piece. That's 6342 Euros, made from other people's designs. Or a bit more than 8000 US dollars. Not exactly small change, is it?
  24. Just to sum this up a bit: The three Spanish modulars in miran0620's eBay store (and the one in smpratte's store) were originally made by Japanese builder and Brickshelf user peachtree. The three slightly Dutch-looking modulars were originally made by Brickshelf user stefauster. Does anybody know how to get in touch with peachtree or stefauster, to tell them about the abuse of their creations? The one creation that we haven't identified thus far is the train station. It's so imposing that it's hard to believe nobody has noticed it before: Does anybody have a clue as to who built this?
  25. It is. But we pay our taxes :)
