This is a bit off-topic, but when Jamie Berard presented the Horizon Express at the Fan Weekend in Skærbæk he stated that the 'Creator Expert' label is nothing more than a re-badging of the Exclusive series. They're all going to be Creator Expert sets from now on. There's nothing more to it than that, so it's really got nothing to do with the rest of the Creator series, as far as I could understand.

I've seen this before (probably when it was featured on TBB) and it's hugely impressive. I have a feeling, though, that it's even more impressive when you see it up close and get a better feel for the scale, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing it in Oslo next week!
-
What do you mean, "it's not a pretty sight"? Of course there are things to be done, but it'll be totally fantastic when you're done with it. It's a gorgeous setup and any Town fan would kill to be able to build something like that :)
-
That's a very nice truck. I love the way you've SNOTed it - how sturdy is it?
-
It looks great, and for a first attempt at something modular-ish it's fantastic - the exterior, sure, but the interior in particular. I love how you've paid so much attention to detail on the furniture, like the piano and the bunk bed (although probably a bit cramped). And the handcuffs in the bedroom is a cheeky touch :) You've probably figured that out, but the reason the modulars have plain side walls is that they're supposed to be placed next to each other, so windows are wasted there. That also means that your house won't fit - I know you probably didn't mean it to, but anything that protrudes from the side walls will be in the way. I also agree that the top floor might be a tad too low - maybe the ground floor could use a bit of extra height, too. But it really does look spectacular. Well done!

This really is fantastic. You know what my favourite detail is, but I have to say, that whole ground floor interior is just spectacular. The exterior is great as well. I'd love to go to the HispaLUG Expo, but it's the same weekend as the Fanwelt in Cologne, so it's a no-go...

This is very good! I'd love to see a real, brick-built version of this, although it would probably be hugely expensive. Any plans in that direction?
-
I've told you before and I'll tell you again, this is such a good idea, and you've executed it perfectly. Having something to break up a monotonous square street pattern is just what a layout needs.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this in Oslo. As I said on Brikkelauget's forum, the curved platform is a feature that really makes your station stand out. It's gorgeous! :)
-
I agree that the corner of the roof could be better, but apart from that it's a gorgeous building. You're really good at this, both the exterior and the interior are beautifully done. Great job :)

Wow, absolutely brilliant - both the tower itself, the techniques applied to achieve the twisting, and the landscaping on ground level. I've been interested in architecture for years, but sadly I haven't been able to see the Turning Torso up close. Your rendition of it is fantastic nevertheless, you have my applause :)

Going for a few days without Eurobricks made me realise how much I enjoy visiting the site every day and check up on what's happened since I was last here. So thanks to all the people who put a lot of work in to restore the forum. Now it's just a matter of getting used to this layout... :)

When Jamie Berard presented the new Horizon Express set in Skærbæk, labeled as a Creator Expert set instead of a regular Exclusive, he mentioned that it was just a re-branding of the series. So there's no need to read more into the branding than that.

I just have to chime in with the others: This is brilliant! The worn parts make it look more realistic.

For those of you who have only seen this stunning diorama in pictures: Try to get to an event where it's on display. Pictures just can't do it justice. It was great to be able to study it up close in Skærbæk this weekend. Great work, Maciej!

Cost and Size of a Lego Minifigure Scale Earth

This is one of the best posts I've read in a long time. Funny, interesting and totally useless. Brilliant - thanks for the laugh! -
Here's what happened to me today: I was planning to get the Minecraft set if I could find it anywhere at the Fan Weekend in Skærbæk this weekend. I did find it, but forgot to pick it up as I was more interested in another set, and when I remembered, all the Minecraft sets were gone. Never mind, I thought, bad luck. Then, today, after the event was officially over, I was in Billund with some other people. In the window of a second-hand store, literally a stone's throw from LEGO H.Q., what do I spot? A Minecraft box. Obviously, I got it. It had been opened, and I have to admit I haven't checked the contents yet, but the staff said that as far as they knew, it was complete. So, provided it actually is, when I get around to opening it when I get home, I'm reasonably certain it deserves its place in this thread. I'll keep you posted! What did you say? How much? 12 Danish kroner. About 2 US dollars...

As far as I can tell, nobody who actually witnessed the train being presented by its designer Jamie Berard to an enthusiastic audience here at the LEGO Fan Weekend in Skærbæk tonight, has commented on this yet - maybe they're too exhausted after partying - but let me be the first one then. It looks very nice, and like many others here I will probably buy two of them. If I understood Jamie correctly, the Creator Expert tag is what the Exclusive sets will be labelled with from now on - so it's the exact same kind of release as the EN and the Maersk. Among the most interesting parts are the windscreen piece, which according to Jamie has been printed for the first time, and the inverted 2x2 tiles in dk bluish grey. I'm sure there'll be plenty of people around tomorrow who had a closer look at the model than I did - after all, I'm not much of a train guy - and they will probably be able to give you a lot more details :) EDIT: Oh yeah, there's a club car and a regular passenger car, and - again, if I remember correctly - in the passenger car there's a toilet with a sliding door. And the whole top of the cars, everything above the horizontally mounted windows, comes off for easy access. Also, the front part of that pattern on the side of the locomotive, with the diagonal line, is a printed tile. And, like the EN, it comes with extra stickers for those who want to expand the train.

I've only been to Strøget twice (both last year) but from what I can remember you seem to have caught the essence of the street quite perfectly. The fountain and all those funny details are great, and I very much like the metro entrance, although in real life the nearest metro station to the LEGO Store is much further away, right? I seem to remember that I had to walk for 5-10 minutes to get there :)

This is brilliant! The parts usage for the engine block in particular is something I'd never have thought of.

This'll be my first LEGO event, and I have absolutely no idea what to expect. Which is pretty exciting :) -
She's a looker, for sure. Heading over to Flickr now for a closer look :)

Yeah, I was going to mention the windscreen! I didn't notice it when you first posted the picture on Flickr. That's a very neat solution.
