I saw one set go for less than what it would cost to buy all 16 from a shop individually ! went for £27 while it would cost 32 for the complete set. I havent looked much though, maybe that one was a rare buy!

Ive got a few going spare as well. Managed to get 7 woodys and 3 buzz's. Only want one for myself so 6 woodys and 2 buzzs spare.

This is a great moc! I watched this film the other day, and each of your images are instantly recognisable ! Definitely think you should make a flying dutchman and the hms interceptor

Dont think i can choose between the new and classic pirates. I havent experienced the quality issues you have (or havent looked closely enough!). At first i wasnt really a fan of the new pirates but since buying the entire line they really have grown on me. Whilst the classic figures are great and remind me of when i had the sets as a kid, the new figures do have a cartoony charm which is endearing. The print detail is high and more diverse, both on the torsos and the faces. I dont think you need to choose between them, just enjoy the differences.

great to hear futuramas back. cant believe i didnt hear about this until now ! Cant wait to watch the new series, i loved futurama back in the day but since its cancelation i have drifted away.

Yeah i think it looks good. Adding one of these would certainly beef up the current soldiers fort sets defences ! One comment is its very white ! might be nice to mix the colours up a bit.

Yeah thats a shame, seems like someone had already raked through. Glad you managed to pick some up though, now you have a few to trade for the ones you want (just like lego always wanted!)

To be honest im not sure what you are asking for? You say you want to make a ship and change it a little. So i guess they best place to start would be to play around with the existing lego ship sets, and then start modifying them to make improvements. If you share your photos on here then im sure lots of people will be more than happy to offer constructive criticism for further improvement. You could always look at the pirate mocs to see what other people have done. you can use these for inspiration, and to see what techniques other people are using. Asking the person who built the moc for tips regarding certain features would also yield some tips! just start building and see what you come up with, thats the beauty of lego

you've got a pretty thorough list there already ! Thought of a couple more, mainly civilians. I noticed you didnt have any women for your town ! this guy from green grocer thought these female pirate/castle torsos might fit every western town needs a few wenchs

I cant believe im even bothering to come back to this. Your just a wind up merchant. But here we go. 1)Not once did i say that the Lorica segmentata was the only armour ever worn by romans. I said thats what most people would think of when asked to describe a roman soldier. If TLG were to do a roman, then im sure they would go with the holywood version as that is what people relate to. 2)Hoplites did wear breastplates, there are many examples in various museums. Im not going to be drawn on this anymore. Its a forum for lego, not for the finer points of ancient warfare. In my mind its a hoplite, and you have provided nothing definitive to suggest otherwise. now lets get back on topic! when are the series 3 pictures coming out ? Edit: sorry peppermint, didnt see your reply. You just quicker than me i guess wont be discussing it further.

Ah i wasnt aware of that. Only lego car i have bought in years was the 8402 which didnt have a number plate!

This is stunning! Its a really creative way of fititng in multiple scenes. The cinema audience takes up a very large area of the scene, but is only a tiny part of the overall experience. The audience is really important though, its like your sharing the scenes with them. Great entry, its a serious contender !

I cant see the roman resemblance really. To me its a hoplite. In the pictures asterios posted, the minifig bears much more resemblance to the greek than the roman. And yes of course rome 'borrowed' many ideas from greek culture, but ask 99% of people to think of a roman soldier, this is what they would picture: square red shield, no nose piece, silver plate armour etc. And a greek, most people would think of the film 300, which would be this guy: Who bears a striking resemblance to the minifig! To be honest watching 300 was probably the entire research tlg conducted anyway. Dont forget this is meant for kids, who arnt going "hmm this looks like a pre-marian roman soldier", they are just going to be playing with them. Hopefully the roman legionnaire will make an appearance in series 3, along with a gladiator. I would get loads of those as well !

for me its because surfing is one of my other hobbies, beside lego ! Got a few mocs i can think of using him and i reckon they will make great joke gifts for my mates !

New Zealand are my second team in this world cup! Mainly because of tommy smith, he plays for ipswich town who i support here in the uk (only player from our team to make the world cup!). Thought NZ played really well against Italy, deserved to win, that penalty decision was very harsh ! Not many of the big teams are shining at this tournament. England, Spain, Italy and France havent won a single game yet! Brazil are looking good, though i have no idea why kaka was sent off, ridiculous decision ! The ref didnt even see it! The african teams have been dissapointing, this was supposed to be the tournament that they really put down a marker, but they might all go out in the group stages!
