LEGO® Inside Tour - The Ultimate Experience For LEGO Fans!
squiz replied to toyboxglobal's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wow, that sounds great ! I imagine you more than made your monies worth spending that much on discounted sets!! Wonder why they were shocked at how much you spent, i would imagine the people taking these tours have that kind of disposable income to spend, and would take full advantage of the discount. I would like to take the tour at some stage, but i dont think im in the situation to be able to do it at the moment! Definitely one day though, it can be my Mecca EDIT by admin: Removed quote on request since Keith edited his post. Hope what was OK -

Has this worked ? The URL to the minifig you need to find is different to the window ones Whitefang has made available in this thread. I checked this with the first one in the vain hope i could just google the URL and get the figs that way Seems like whitefang had already thought of that !! -

yeah, but that could take a crazy amount of time! At least with the other clues you could still find the answer using either the search on here or on google, and not resorting to random trawling! Oh well, 13/13 now and still enjoying it! -

Finally found the weightlifter. Got to say i thought that clue was ridiculous! No idea how you would get that unless you really knew the subject (which i really didnt!). Resorted to going through every thread till i found it -
Dont we all! Nice Moc peppermint, looking forward to the rest.

Went to pick out a few in argos today, was using the crib sheet and one of the guys working there asked me what i was doing. He seemed impressed, turns out they have had alot of people trying to return the figures because they didnt get the ones they wanted Wanted to trade the opened bag for another one in the hope they got the fig they wanted! -
I know what you mean with the switching lights thing. I sometimes switch pieces where it doesnt have an impact on the overall set. Makes my model different yet the same

How do you mean it wasnt fairly portrayed? I dont think the film was supposed to be taken too seriously. Of course you are right, they are great as generic hoplites. But their resemblance to the spartans in 300 is uncanny, and imagine that without that film, these figs wouldnt have been designed.

Yeah go with the green grocer. As prateek says its being discontinued soon so now is the time to get one! you should have another year left for the fire station and 2 years for the EMporium. Plus the green grocer is cheaper than the grand emporium. I recently picked up the green grocer, its an amazing set. You wont be dissapointed!

Good clue, first thread i guessed was the right one ! -
Managed to find 7 spartans today :)

Just had a scout round Southampton for minifigs. Argos had a load of series 2 minifigs. They werent in the standard display case, but in a larger bin type thing. Looks like they are just going to be dumping handfulls of them into it without sticking to the boxes of 60. Might make it more difficult to get certain figures. They also had 2 boxes of series 1. Toys r us had 2 fullish boxes as well. On a shut till as well so easy to pick out the ones you want. Nothing in John Lewis as of yet! Managed to get 7 Spartans, dont think there are any left in Southampton

Apparently Grogal has 153 sparans Think we are definitely going to see some big collections of these. Cant wait to see the mocs that are based around this fig. They look great all lined up together, thanks for sharing Bonaparte!

wow thats alot cheaper than buying them individualy! Cheers for the link. When are your series 2 bigs coming out?! -
haha, i wouldnt care about what the postman thinks! I remember buying a brickbeards bounty off some dodgy discount warehouse place on ebay. They sent it without any packaging, just in the lego box (box was pretty battered but all the pieces were there!). I was in when the postman delivered it and he handed it over, i didnt get any funny looks! Way i see it, it could have been a present for someone, but if he had asked i would have said it was for me, im not ashamed of my ridiculous lego addiction I do most of my lego shopping online. If you are buying from a reputable place like amazon you wont have anything go wrong. Ebay is more of a mixed bag, but i havent had many bad experiences and its often the best way to pick up older sets. Overall i think online is probably better for buying it discretely, you dont have to go into a shop and walk out with a massive tru or lego bag! Plus you can find some real bargains online, like those amazon ones!

not too amazed with the news of an egyptian theme. Feels like there has already been a fair few egyptian sets in the adventurers theme. Would prefer roman/greek theme but thats been discussed alot already. Probably feel differently when i see the pictures. And maybe this is the first in an 'Eras' theme, with a different historical period visited each year....

What are you nervous about ?

This is a nice little moc, and quite topical with those poor sods in Chile trapped down that mine :( I really like the well design, and the sun gives it a great cartoony feel. I think its good to have given it a landscape in the background
-
Nice looking moc. Good use of the loot island base plate, youve blended it in with the mine very well!
