You're more than welcome and you're version is more refined than my prototype circa 2005. Guess you've never gone deeper into the vault! This is one scene that maybe someday I'll revisit. AC

Sad to admit that this MOC has already been deconstructed except for a couple of buildings and the arch. The scene was done immediately after the Separatist Occupation but I just forgot about them. Just recently gone through some pics and realized that I haven't posted these. The Fambaa still remains standing back from the days of the Grass Plains battle. Just posted late, built much earlier. Meesa buy clearance sales. See next comment... You're right about that! Found those too! That's why I bought all the HP sets when they went on clearance for parts! Clearance sales! Sorry can't/don't keep count of them. Unless they go on clearance. True that! Save a lot on clearance sales and have everything in order. Look again, some buildings were also switched around plus flags added for the festive atmosphere! AC

As usual, click the pics for more details. Click the pics for more details or you'll miss a lot. AC

Yes, they are all from my collection with the exception of this. ^Ditto^ If you read the descriptions for each part; Last but not the least, the flag tower and other structures are remaining to be built. AC PS. Back on track after finishing the additional grid layer all around. Should be done next week just in time for Halloween!
-
Too late as I've already done it and good thing I was able to scrounge up parts from this. Have you looked at the grids up close? The surprises I mentioned answers the questions on your first post about this WIP. You're really being lazy with your comments. Another week or so and it will be done. Were you referring to the external training facility where one trooper got a head shot? AC
-
Can't you watch it from the CN website? AC PS. Minor setback as I just realized while building the flag tower that another layer of the grid has to be added all around the existing facility!
-
That's what I get when I stare too long at the grids when working at this! Maybe I should just stop right now. It's not yet done and you haven't spotted anything out of the ordinary from the grids. It just gets bigger than planned as I've had to make adjustments for those towers. Just a couple more weeks or so to go. I had to borrow those from the UCS TIE Interceptors. Just finished the right half to make sure that the grids were in place before finishing the left area. You'll just have to wait and see where they lead to. Got to use all available pieces that I could muster though the TIE-D now doesn't have it. AC

Well I was intrigued enough after seeing the episode to think about how it can be built as a MOC. Now on the third week of building and it looked so simple enough to build at first. Gotta I'm a conformist! if I'm to finish it before Halloween. The next installment will definitely erase any doubts about this MOC! AC

Slowly but surely and more to come... Keep on staring at it and you might get dizzy! I've never noticed that until you mentioned it. Looks like I've gotten the effect that I wanted it to reflect. That grid from wall to wall had to match and if you look real close, you'll notice that not everything is all square. Not showing anymore details than what you see but I'm sure some can figure out how. That's why the first pic was crucial as I wouldn't have proceeded with this project if I wasn't 100% sure that the grid would be convincingly accurate. Unless you plan to pitch in all the dark grey pieces, then that would be a no. I've mentioned it before that before I take on a new MOC that I make sure that I have enough bricks in supply to do it. In this case I didn't have enough of the correct color (dark gray and light gray was going to be close) so I chose to do it in black which I've got plenty of. Huge doesn't mean much if it doesn't click! AC

Thanks and it's time to rest my aching fingers as I've just got done with the whole backside. Will take pics tomorrow and post an update afterwards... AC

Not the usual routine of showing MOCs behind the scenes but just to dispel any rumors of any alien species/robotics (ask Big Cam) that actually help out in these MOCs. I suggest you view the episode and decide for yourself and those soccer baseplates have been used over and over again as fillers for most of my works. This would be the most that I need fillers for as the whole floor plan requires several depths up to the flag tower. If you're asking if I keep every diorama intact, that would be a no. They only stay built until I need the parts for a new one or must have the space to build it. Not my script so you'll have to complain to the writers of the CW season 3. I just got intrigued with the facility that I immediately thought about how it would look built in Lego. Welcome and you can always view previous creations from my website by clickling on my sig. Just be sure you got time to spare and don't get lost in the way. AC

You'll all see how the whole MOC unravels to completion as I'll provide weekly updates on it. Estimated completion date is the week before Halloween. It's going to be awhile as you can see, unless you want to pitch in and do some of it. This only shows the back portion which will be half of the finished MOC. Did you expect anything less? You probably didn't read the additional description in the link as I've explained how it and most MOCs that I do start small. You'll just have to wait and see for all the details to come through as I won't give them away yet! Looks simple enough but getting those grids matching up from wall to wall through the pit was quite an exercise. Now I only have to worry about getting them right through the corners of the back wall. AC

Part 4 added Thursday Oct 28, 2010 The fourth and final installment of the work-in-progress shows the middle bottom portion of the flag tower with NinetyNine doing mop-up duties with a couple of droids after a training exercise. The flag tower and other structures on both sides have also been completed but will be revealed in the MOC. Part 3 added Tuesday Oct 12, 2010 The third installment of the work-in-progress shows the center portion with the two towers on both sides. They are built on raised platforms and have snipers locations overlooking the level area. The far side has been built with the sloped entrenchments that have to be breached in order to reach the next level. There are a couple of surprises on the grid that can only be seen if you look closely enough. Last but not the least, the flag tower and other structures are remaining to be built. Part 2 added Wednesday Oct 6, 2010 The second installment of the work-in-progress shows the completed back side of the training facility where the Clone cadets make their entrance through a lift. The back walls join up on the corners with the side walls and the middle part is the entrance which is elevated from the pit. The whole base exhausted the supply of the green bricks in stock as expected. Next up will be the center with the two towers. Part 1 added Thursday Sept 30, 2010 Like most big MOCs that have been done, the initial build usually comprises of a key scene as a Proof-Of-Concept. In this case, the Clone Cadets pic was the one and the tremendous response to it made me decide to proceed with the whole training facility. Hence, this first installment of the work-in-progress shows the pit where the first pic was taken. Only the immediate area shown around the first pic was built initially and that has been expanded to both side walls. The side walls have walkways where the next batch of cadets wait for their turn. The current footprint is comprised of six 32x32 green baseplates that covers the backside of the facility and would most likely use up all the green bricks in stock just for the base. As usual, click the pic for more details... AC

You all go and see the work-in-progress thread that's just begun! AC
-
That's why I used the plates to make the tiling work. Just the start of something bigger, so the cadets will most likely have a change in armor also. AC
-
C'mon, I'm sweating off these and all you gotta say is that? Teaser, teaser! Now you all know what the next big MOC is about! AC
-
Yeah, as soon as I saw the training facility it made me think "How cool would that be as an MOC?". Anyway, this could have easily been a WIP thread but this test shot proved that it can stand on its own. It took awhile to try it out first with slopes (not much success) and then the plates (much better). All the cadet units had a heavy gunner so I whipped out one. Wait till you see the expanded floor plan! Hey, where have you been? Or go to the official website to view them. AC
-
That's an entrance to the main complex and might expand it later. AC
-
Wanted to build them bigger but didn't have enough blue slopes. As mentioned in previous posts, the landing pad won't be used for any other. I must admit that I haven't seen the season 3 episode yet so I have no clue what you were referring to. At least I'll be able to post all the pics from them. AC
-
Tried to emulate the shape of the Kamino buildings rather than build it straight up. That circular plate actually serves another purpose of holding the landing platform together. I'd rather spend the time building dios than modding ships but that's just me. AC
-
The landing pad started it all and wasn't suitable for another MOC that I had in mind. So I've come up with this past week a simple concept to make use of it. The interior is really just the entrance to the complex so there was no need to overdo it. ^Ditto^ Nah, I'm experimenting other designs for a landing pad so this won't be used for any other. ^Ditto^ ^Ditto^ You should know by now that I don't mod ships.
