I've always delved in other themes besides SW as there are opportunities for builds/techniques that won't probably been able to do. Hoping to do more in the future when on break from SW MOCs. Thanks for mentioning about your son's appreciation as I've actually gotten into the hobby through my sons when they were younger and Lego was the most played as they built whatever toy they imagined it to be. It's always good to have reference pics to work with and in this case the screen caps from the movie. Stay tuned for more OT goodness! AC

As mentioned in previous responses, the separate scenes were done as one so it looked more crowded than it was meant to be. Already working on the next one... The mouse droid is built like the official one except the black bricks were changed to gray so that it would show more prominently. AC

Nothing like going back to the OT scenes as there's quite a number of them that I've always wanted to do. It looked odd to see Chewie as the same height of the rest and changing the camera angle wasn't good enough. So what better way to give him some added boost! More to come... AC

When this was built in 2008, there weren't that many MOCs done for the orient style. With the new Ninjago line, we're seeing more MOCs in this theme. If you haven't seen it yet, take a look at this more recent MOC. Old but still current. Those baseplates were tough to work with but came out well in this. The only thing left of this structure is actually the bridge which I plan to reuse in a future MOC. The minifigs were done as in the old samurai movies I've watched. AC

Sneaky, yes but that's not the camera angle! Chewbacca is actually two plates taller and the mouse droid was placed there to disguise the added height! If you look at the middle pic for the set-up, there are not that many minifigs. However, the placement of the minifigs was deliberate to show across which is why it seems too busy. Initially thought of shooting two separate scenes but too time consuming for just the same structure. Not doing any reshoot either. The hallway is scaled correctly from the movie scene, read comments above about the busy look. Lighting this was another problem as I couldn't get the right mix for a pic from the outside looking in and have the correct exposure. That's why I settled for separate pics for the outside and inside features. Added to the fact of black on black compounded the issue. I've done the reverse build for the ceiling in a previous MOC and those trans-blue did help alleviate the internal lighting problem. Only wish I had trans-clear instead of trans-blue, though I must admit those panels have been reused from another MOC. AC

The doors have been designed and used in prior MOCs. The initial design was mainly the armory but it turned out to be just too simplified. So the various outfits gave it more distinction specific to each mission. AC

Just another day through the hallway of the Death Star where various Imperial troopers go about their business of carrying out orders. As usual, click the pic for more details... AC The set-up for the hallway

Post your MOC on the EB Star Wars forum. I don't know either as most of these start as free builds and then they get a life of their own! They are ammunition and those are Luke Endor torsos as Brickdoctor mentioned. You're right about that. Just used what they got from the training room for consistency. We all got a life and this is just a hobby for me besides running. Maybe later about the workspace but nothing special about sorting as I use plastic bins and zip lock bags just like others do. AC

There's probably a couple or so that I'd like to have done differently but all in all it was a good year. AC

You're right about the depth of field that I wanted to capture in these photos as there's a lot of detail that are easily obscured. Added just a touch of color in a few areas to change up the boring gray. That training room is undergoing deconstruction to make way for new MOCs. Detailing is what it's all about though it does take quite a few rebuilds to get it right. You're welcome and make sure to post it here. AC
-
They are included with all the other MOCsin the index. Not looking to set records or what, just enjoying the chance to create MOCs that haven't been done. You should really take a closer look at them rather than just viewing the thumbs. AC

Done as standalone and not meant to connect with the Cadet Quarters. But it's possible with a few mods to both dioramas. Did you expect anything less? Always try to improve upon an idea and in this case it was the armory which was briefly shown in one of the CW episodes. You're right in the assumption of the functions of each room for every five-man squad. Domino squad actually gets the phase I clone outfits on the first floor, first room on the left. Stop looking and say something already! You should know by now that staring at these MOCs can become addictive because you have to go back to make sure that you didn't miss any detail. Borrowsteal whatever you find appropriate for your own clone base! He's there for a reason and not planning to doing any further mods on their outfits. Took a few rebuilds to get it right but so worth it! As mentioned above, didn't plan on any merge for this but the theme was meant to continue with Domino squad's progress. That's why you should go back and view them again. It doesn't cost you anything at all or maybe I should start charging for these! AC

The final training run ended in complete victory and Domino squad reports to the central armory to get outfitted for their first assignment outside of Kamino. As usual, click the pic for more details... AC

Thanks and it does feel that I've been here much longer. Feel free to make use of any design in the site as long as you don't ask for the build instructions! AC

Nah, a poll isn't necessary but appreciate you mentioning which you liked best! You're not doing too bad either. It's been awhile since I've done a SHIP but your works have given me some thought of going back on old designs that I've never had a chance to build. Maybe new here but kinda old hat when it comes to SW MOCs. Big thanks for all your support and commentaries on them. Got several in progress now that you'd probably be able to guess what the themes are about. Yeah but you've been mum on some of them which makes me wonder whether you're either running out of what to say or didn't appreciate them as much of the earlier ones. Feel like the rabbit in Alice, too many ideas to build but so little time and space to work on! Btw those don't include seven more non-SW MOCs and it makes all the effort worthwhile when they're appreciated as much. Again no general plan for this coming year as I'd like to spring surprises every now and then. AC

Thanks to all EB Admins and members for this first year of membership! Didn't know what to expect at the start as I've just come out of more than a year of a self-imposed hiatus and the previous sites I've previously frequented (LUGNET, Brickshelf, etc.,) were suddenly not as active anymore. So I had to find my way again through Eurobricks, Flickr, MOCPages to seek those with common interests in the hobby. Finally, after several months of going back and forth I knew I finally found my new home here at Eurobricks! For those that have followed me through this past year, I must admit that there was no general plan on what MOCs will be done. Along the way, I've managed to participate in the community build, join some contests and lucky to have placed in a couple (though didn't win one but I'll keep on trying ). Never realized how much was actually done until I did a search from the past year as you can see. The thumbnails will lead you to the threads and now I also got my SW fan tag! AC PS. Don't have a clue what the second year will be but I'd certainly keep on building for as long as you all enjoy viewing!

First year anniversary on EB! AC

KimT, Been here a year, definitely over 200+ posts and I don't doubt that more than 25% have been in the Star Wars forums. Can I please have mine? Thanks, AC

Welcome to EB and you've essentially described what I wanted to convey in this scene. Of course in the movie, the action between the two alternates so kinda merged the scenes for both. Don't know if you've seen the other works, but you're more than welcome to view them when you got time. Haven't done much on AOTC so likely to do some more for it. Still debating on whether to do another scene relating to this and the previous one... AC

Somebody from the past reminded me of an old action figure diorama that I did way back for the same theme. If you look closely, the molten metal on the conveyor belt are actually Lego tiles (photoshopped glow effect). Sorry but the resolution is not of good quality... AC PS. For those who are unaware, I did SW action figure dioramas before doing SW Lego dioramas.

Design wise picked specific scenes from the movie and built around them. Those really fit in quite nicely into the scene and that's why I decided to keep them from the old MOC. Not an upgrade but a full makeover since the design started from scratch and doesn't really resemble the old MOC. Only parts were used from the old MOC and those wheel pieces were the best from it. Still debating on which MOC path to choose next... AC
-
Thanks for blogging it! Yeah, the first one is always the best! This time designed the machinery to be functionally believable. Realized the error half-way through the pic edits. Yes, they are! The hailfire droid wheels were also in the old MOC and they've been retained for this MOC. Though found it a bit tougher to get them positioned correctly due to their weight and bulkiness. Yes, it was blue but didn't want to redo the pics as it was too much work! Kinda thought about doing that particular scene where Anakin's arm was trapped but wasn't satisfied with the result. AC PS. Remember that there are far more detailed pics from varying angles in the links provided like this and this. Maybe by 2004 MOC standards but this works for today's standards! See previous comments about the lightsaber. Never really gave it much thought as the Anakin minifig already had the lightsaber in hand when placed in the scene. AC

Inside the inhospitable environment of the Geonosian droid factory, Anakin and Padme find themselves battling for their lives against the gauntlet of machines' inhuman might. As usual, click the pics for more details... AC PS. For those who haven't seen the old MOC.
