  1. Old Sarlacc pit added for reference. AC
  2. I've always used creative liberty even in canon movie scenes and must admit that haven't even read that much about his escape. That's what a teaser is all about. If you read the comments then you would have seen my response to the same question. "Can't pass up the chance to build an army of nautolans for cheap!" AC
  3. I've used to separate the two colors before but once I've used them together in an old moc, there was no turning back. AC
  4. Tried using this first but it looked funny and from the reference pics the 1x1 clip looks more appropriate. That's the simplest way to do it. I could be mistaken but IIRC, there was a comic illustration of his escape with the flamethrower on and flying off with his jetpack from the pit. Coming from the east coast, I'm not that up early just to post. It will be done in good time. AC
  5. Welcome to the EB SW forums, if you're asking about the rancor then it was more than two weeks in late December. The rework took just a couple of days and the scene plus the shoot was a weekender. The bone actually came from the Ninjago sets. AC
  6. I've actually done the Sarlacc pit a long time ago and have planned on doing a better one. It's going to take awhile to finish as I've just had to do the first rebuild of the surrounding area around the mouth. Been on Flickr for as long as I've been on EB. As epic as? What about Kit? Who knows? That's just a simple 1x1 plate with clip. Yes it is the key chain but will use the appropriate minifig in the final moc. As it depicts Fett's escape, it's not gonna be very big at all. AC
  7. Posted on May 12, 2011. Part 2 where a rebuild of the first part was done to correct several important details. See if you can spot the changes! Just have to build the other half of the pit and surrounding area. Old Sarlacc pit from March 2002. First teaser pic posted on May 7, 2011. AC PS. One of earlier MOCs that I've always wanted to revisit.
  8. So the euro version has 35520 limit while the us version is 23500 (mine was 11614). AC
  9. No, it's not a teaser as it can stand on its own as an MOC and you wouldn't have known otherwise if I haven't responded that I'm planning for a bigger MOC. You can't call it a WIP either as the final build will not even resemble what you see here except for the rancor and the minifigs. AC
  10. After getting done with the mods for the Rancor, just wanted to try out how much space was needed to create the cave from the movie scene. The base from a previous MOC which I've started to dismantle was used for proof-of-concept. If you look closely enough on the other pics, there's missing cheese slopes from the rock formation. Sorry to blow the bubble but this time I cheated! In due time the appropriate background and more will be built... You knew how to connect the dots... Just the start of something bigger! The rock formations will be different when the time comes for the final build. AC
  11. Modified the arms and leg joints for more poseability and shown with the minifigs for scale. The body is still too heavy to stand on its own. As usual, click the pic if you want more details... AC
  12. That's the idea! Are you planning on a dio of landspeeders? I've got to hunt you down now for spilling the secret! The Shadow ARF Trooper showed up as $9.99 in the receipt, so best guess is that it will be on retail for that after the promo. Yes, that shows #11,614 of 23,500. AC
  13. AC PS. Besides the poster and minifig, you also get the ice cube tray free.
  14. Just trying out the surfer hair on Jedi Luke with a Ninjago bone. AC
  15. Essentially following the design modularity of some D2C sets where each level can be shown and keeping the Ninjago theme in mind for the overall design. Probably would have done some details differently for an MOC. AC
  16. Always wanted to build oriental style genres but the darkside of the force is really strong! Who knows where this leads to? Dark red blended more subtlely than black which I've tried first. And since black was already used for the roofs, the choice was obvious for the interior tiling. I've tried using the cheese slopes and horns but wasn't satisfied with the effect, then came across the scorpion king minifig. Just tried to keep the overall design into one that could possibly be a set done by TLG (after all isn't that what this contest is all about?). I've also used the same baseplate in similar fashion on other mocs though not as elaborate as this one. Practice, practice, practice! Props to you for spotting the long bows and understanding what they were intended for. In the initial structure there were stairs going from one level to the next. But they did not look that good in the overall design and I was running out of time for the contest. So I ditched them and like you said Ninjas don't need the stairs! AC
  17. That's the main reason why I've gotten multiples of them. Didn't find them on the main retailers (TRU, Target, Walmart) when they came out. So surprised when they showed up in a smaller retail store. Did just the same as you did with the bar codes for the spartans. Just went through every box in 10 minutes or less that I found after I've remembered it. Also helps that the kids who were going through the boxes were more interested in the other minifigs. So I helped them out to get their favorites. AC
  18. Completed. AC
  19. Traditional castle built on large moulded baseplate, contains 11 minifigures and a horse. The whole structure can be separated into four modules (roof, meditation room, training room, base structure). As usual, click the pics for more details... AC
  20. Had them on the large baseplate but they kept falling over whenever I moved them. So fixed it with this and that's where they'll stay until casting call for new MOCs! Cheat sheet for spartans, touch and feel for the others. No extra figures bought that I didn't need. Heard that before! Spartans and musketeers have been featured in MOCs, elves and samurais next. AC
  21. That would be so awesome if they were seven musketeers! More likely seven hazmat guys as I've felt more of them in my hunt for the musketeers. AC
  22. AC
  23. Hondo's as devious as any prime bounty hunter in the SW galaxy and deserves a swoop like no other. Why stick with regular cache of weapons when you can go for premium! AC
  24. Every detail counts and it made more sense to label the components to avoid any confusion on their purpose. The stand was an afterthought when I was doing the photo shoot as I was trying to get the shots without showing the solid 8x16 brick. AC PS. Added two photos and removed one to meet the 8 pic limit.
  25. More fearsome, cunning and dangerous than any bounty hunter by earning the notorious distinction of having a Sith and two Jedi masters as captives at the same time. The kidnapping and extortion business requires the utmost complementary support vehicles and his personal Mobquet combat swoop does that and more. Heavily armored with different custom arsenal for any situation and a hybrid swoop but not quite an airspeeder with its modified repulsorlift engine and thruster jets. Custom arsenal With stand Top view 1) Central repulsor pod 2) Steering vanes 3) Armored deflector shield 4) Instrument readout 5) Handlebar controllers 6) Accelerator pedals 7) Rider seat with cooling vents 8) Repulsorlift engine 9) Turbothrusters 10) Mini-stinger missiles 11) Cowlings 12) Laser guided guns 13) Bottom blaster cannons Side view Back view Rider view Hondo also gambles on outlawed swoop games and enters his modified Mobquet combat swoop with a different armor shield and less weaponry as allowed but nevertheless still menacing and deadly. Swoop racer AC PS. As usual, click the pics for more details! Don't forget to check out the skiff if you haven't seen it yet.
