  1. Just keeping it real. A classic epic scene that does not need an over abundance of details. Thanks! AC

Me too! Which do you think will survive a head-on collision? None bigger at that time. This is still built alongside a few other MOCs which I intend to take better pics in the future. As a side note, the undercarriage is actually built like the 8454 Technic Rescue Truck which was ransacked for parts to build this. AC
  3. I'm also out for words on what to say for comments like yours on my works. So I guess that makes us even. You're gonna need a really big shelf in an even bigger room to display them all. On a sad note, this has been deconstructed last year so these pics are what's left for the memories. Thanks! AC
  4. Security battle droids lead Queen Amidala's retinue from the Palace towards a concentration camp going through the plaza and along the side streets of Theed. Unbeknownst to the security battle droids, the Jedi have observed them escorting Queen Amidala and her retinue from the Palace to a detention camp. They follow along one balcony level, seeing the droids march with shadows to the lines of the street tiles to set up an ambush. Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Jar-Jar sneak across on a walkway above the plaza and jump from a balcony to begin an attack to rescue the Queen. The security battle droids are cut down instantly by the Jedi and the Queen's retinue are rescued. Commentary: One large 48x48 gray baseplate was used as base footprint. There's one stud overhang on the balcony and roof of the building on the right because I wanted to maintain the symmetry of the building. Three weeks to build as it was simultaneously built with the other two entries. As with the other two entries, I've kept the design and build true to the scenes, no gimmicks necessary. Here are reference pics for the Queens' retinue, Jedi and the ambush that I found for this scene. Like the Small and Medium entry, this is also the final version. Comments and suggestions are welcomed but I won't be making anymore changes as I've got to get back to a previous MOC stopped due to these entries for the contest. Enjoy viewing more pics here, here and here or by clicking on any pic above before posting your comments. I'd also appreciate if you mention what details you liked about it or not. AC
  5. Side by side comparison with GNAT Click the pics for more... AC
  6. Thanks, that's a catchy tune! AC
  7. Why enter at all if you don't care about your entry? You're entitled to your own opinion. If you're referring to the control generator as too blocky, then consider the fact that this is a very small footprint to work with. There are only two wires, so I don't know why you say there are too many of them. Maybe you ought to show me someday what you come up with your own version of this scene. AC
  8. A classic scene that required a no-frills design. The no height limitation made it all doable. Very stable indeed as there are technic pins in the middle to add support. This scene evokes a retro-style for simplicity and didn't require much greebles. That's a secret for you to figure out! Yes, it is one piece which I've used in other MOCs. Did you expect anything less? Shouldn't you concentrate on making your own entry better? AC
  9. Thanks! You're missing out on the interior shots. Keep up with the comments with the features/design/technique that you like! Also feel free to use them in your future MOCs as well. AC
  10. Using Jedi mind tricks, Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi distracts the stormtroopers guarding the tractor beam controls. Ben moves around the tractor beam disengaging the controls, watching the stormtroopers as they turn their backs to him. With the help of the Force, Ben deftly slips past the troopers and into the main hallway. Commentary: Two 8x16 dark gray bricks were used as base footprint and there's no overhang whatsoever from top to bottom. One week to complete and lots of pics taken which took a lot longer to go through for the final set. As with the other two entries, I've kept the design and build true to the scenes, no gimmicks necessary. Here's a reference pic that I found for this scene. Like the Medium entry, this is the final version. Comments and suggestions are welcomed but I won't be making anymore changes as I've got to complete the Large scene. Enjoy viewing more pics here or by clicking on any pic above before posting your comments. I'd also appreciate if you mention what details you liked about it or not. AC
  11. I'd say not bad for my first try at a SW contest and also my first Steampunk MOC at that. Ok, you're off the hook this time. AC
  12. You gotta speak up more next time about what you liked about it! That's what I'm talking about! This was my first steampunk MOC and quite appropriate to post it due to the SW contest. Haven't thought about the Capt Hook similarity at all, but looks doable enough. The whole idea of the contest is to come out with an entirely different design. Did you notice the paddle wheels at the back? Of course it's me! AC
  13. Thanks! Unfortunately I didn't have the correct pieces in those colors. I'll get you someday... AC
  14. This was my entry for the 2008 FBTB Steam Wars loosely based from initial concept sketches of Jabba's Sail Barge. Won 3rd place and got an 7657 AT-ST Walker for it. Click the pic for more... AC
  15. I do that too for non-SW sets that I bought on clearance which essentially built up my inventory. Castle comes second when building MOCs for me. AC
  16. Too early to be thinking that as I'm sure most will probably wait until the end to post their entries. I'd rather not wait that long as the next entry for small category is in progress. AC
  17. You'll find it with the rest of the pics, back up to the commentary. Join in the fun by doing your own! In the actual set, the front building with the arch was just a plain octagonal shape structure and not much detail except for the windows. That's for you to figure out! Didn't want to order from BL just for the minifigs so I just made up some. More pics of the speeder are available in the full gallery. Wonder no more and just start building. Always something to pick about... AC
  18. Did you expect anything less? As I've been on the TPM theme lately, might as well continue it with this. Tried to get that speeder designed more like the one in the movie and good thing I got the bricks in the right colors. Actually considered mixing up the tan but I didn't have enough dark tan bricks to cover. Just rolling along with the Naboo MOCs and couldn't let the filler space stay empty. AC
  19. Just posted Medium entry. AC
  20. Probably all three, medium just posted. AC
  21. A group of Naboo soldiers with a Gian speeder await Captain Panaka's command to engage the Trade Federation Droid regiment creating a diversion to steer them away from guarding the hangar entrance. Commentary: The last pic was photoshopped to add the lens flare, if not allowed I'll substitute the original without the lens flare. Two 16x32 tan baseplates were used as base footprint and there's no overhang whatsoever as the various pics show. Took a couple of days to design, the Gian speeder alone took two days to build until I was satisfied with it and less than two weeks to complete. As with the other two entries, I've kept the design and build true to the scenes, no gimmicks necessary. Here's a reference pic that I found for this scene. Unless KimT finds something that requires a change to comply with the rules, this is the final version. Comments and suggestions are welcomed but I won't be making anymore changes as I've got to get going on the Large scene. Enjoy viewing more pics here or by clicking on any pic above before posting your comments. I'd also appreciate if you mention what details you liked about it or not. AC
  22. At least you're going on vacation while the rest of us have to work longer hours. Still no excuses here, if you're going to get it done find the time for it. There are 24 hours in a day and you probably just need a couple here and there to get it through. AC
  23. Had to dim the lights for that vig but just enough to illuminate and cast the shadow of the grilled plates on the floor. That was a general idea for these to have them simple enough to be an actual set. Everybody has to start somewhere and I'm the first to admit that with my older MOCs that they were bad because they're not as good as the current works. Your initial responses were at most amusing and I kinda played along. But now you're irritating as you're trying to interject on others' responses as well. What exactly is your agenda/problem? Also wont' you show us some of your more accurate works! AC
  24. Thanks! It's good to put some humor sometimes and this time it's not Jar-Jar! That Tantive scene took a bit of time as those rebels just won't keep still! Working on the medium scene right now. Some of the bigger dioramas actually started as small vignettes like these. Though I wasn't able to follow through with a bigger Tantive IV dio at that time which should have incorporated the first three. Maybe next time... Sorry but I'm only human and you should've seen my older works! AC
  25. You're right on the track with the church/monastery design and there are stained glass windows at the back portion of the building. Though not actually depicted in the movie, kinda imagined the chaotic happenings during the siege. The roof is brick-built as seen on this pic. Here's a better view of the Jedi statue. Those skateboard ramps were used before as roof for a warehouse. AC
