Thanks all for your comments and the FP Big Cam! Oh really! Yes, this is a little MOC to test out how these new minifigs would look like. I've edited the first post to show a couple more and also forgot to point out that the pics are links to the website where you'd find all the details. I've done a few town MOCs before like a bank, a motel and a building. These new minifigs have really given me new ideas to work with! D'Artagnan will make an appearance in a future MOC. Only had a couple of the red plumes so I went with what I've got instead but already knew that I'll get a ribbing about the hats. I've always preferred Lego weapons/accessories but I see what you mean about the swords AC

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
ACPin replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Definitely touch and feel much better to get the minifigs! When in doubt, sailor (hat then telescope) and rocker (guitar then hair). For the musketeer (hat then sword), easiest to find are geisha (skirt then fan) and hazmat guy (helmet then gun). For the scientist (hair is rubber so squish it then flask). Here's a shot of my lucky find in a store that I go to where I managed to get a dozen musketeers! AC PS. Now I'm done with this series, bring on series 5! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion

You should probably order another case and leave this one in storage. I've been lucky to have access to these minifigs in my area. The store staff I've gone to have known me and don't mind me going through the bags as I've always kept them in order after I was done. On another note, there have been numerous times that kids were also looking at what I was doing. So I've tried to help them out find the minifigs that they wanted. Fortunately they didn't care about the spartans, elves, samurais and musketeers but wanted the punk rocker, surfers, hockey player. The expression on their faces was priceless as I've given them the minifigs they wanted and let them feel the accessory that was a sure bet that I was right. A lot of stores in my area are just getting them in the past week and since I'm only interested in a few minifigs it doesn't make sense to order whole cases. AC -
Getting access to the new minifigs have given me new ideas to work with. So stay tuned for more... There's a lot of reference materials on the web about Japanese castles which I've been using. But you won't find that many in red and they're mostly drab in terms of color (black, white, gray). AC

You're mistakenly right as there have been more non-SW MOCs done after the cruise ship. AC

8804 LEGO Minifigures Series 4 Cheat Sheet
ACPin replied to AchillesPDX's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Found a newly opened box in a TRU yesterday and got the three minifigs that I wanted. All done by touch and feel even though I had the cheat sheet with me 2 Musketeer, 4 Geisha and 4 Hazmat guy. It took me about half an hour to go through the box. AC -

Of course it will be, stay tuned! Gotta find some use for these minifigs! Have done the first build of the main structure, now the rebuilds start to add details. It's going to take awhile and will post updates later this week. AC

That's exactly the atmosphere that I wanted to convey of this scene before the impact happens. Need a break from time to time and I always go back to castle themed MOCs. Maybe doing another scene. Every bit of detail counts in the end and the other pics show the various angles of the confrontation. This is where Leonidas shouts "HOLD!". Repositioning the Spartans a number of times was a bit painstaking to get the right mood. The front line was more direct and the succeeding lines were meant to converge in on the action. Props to you for spotting that! AC

The Persians first attack came from a horde of undisciplined conscripts aimed at overwhelming the Spartans phalanx with their sheer numbers. As usual, click the pic for more details... AC

Better see it when you get the chance and you won't regret it! . There's more where they came from! At least now you have a better idea to improve on yours. Yeah me too, been watching it again for the specific scenes to look at the details. AC PS. Next MOC is done, go see it!

Tried to expand the hole using the same arches but didn't look right so just settled with the same size as in the teaser. Noticed how the looks on the other messengers faces? If it had been bigger, the support would have used up more bricks. Hmmmm. Maybe some other time. Points to you for spotting those! Would've taken more time than I wanted to fix it but was just too lazy to start over again. Not by chance but by design, tried to get all the important elements and characters from the movie scene. Yeah, those turned up quite well! It's Spartaaaa! Added more black arches to the hole from the teaser so you don't really see the bottom anymore. The horse with the kings' skulls were actually last minute additions. Didn't like the look of white as well and judging from the movie scene, the houses were more cream colored (dirty white or something). Those Naboo dios have been deconstructed and will find more MOCs in the future. Maybe doing another scene from the movie but not expanding on this anymore. Practice, practice, practice and building from different themes from time to time help expand the repertoire. Another scene in the works... AC

Persian messengers arrive at the gates of Sparta demanding the submission of Sparta to King Xerxes. In response to this demand, Leonidas and his guards kick the messengers into the "Pit of Death". As usual, click the pic for more details... AC

All done, go see the completed MOC! AC

Let's move on and didn't mean to sound harsh in my responses. AC

Like I said it's done and I don't redo MOCs for the sake of improving a little bit of this or that. Viewers can say whatever they want as I don't have any control on that. This is a hobby for me and I enjoy what I do. If viewers like it then it's just icing on the cake for me. If not, so be it and move on to the next MOC. Sorry KDM but some people just don't get it. AC

There's bound to be some changes for the final work and should be done next week. AC
-
Tough but it's already a completed MOC and my design, so live with it! Exactly. AC

It was meant to be. Fixed. You'll just have to wait and see how far this goes. Have you actually seen what the screen cap look like for this scene? Always good to have reference pics to work with and takes a lot of patience for redundant details (lighting panels). Wanna help out sometime? Yes just like in the hallway. The scene was from the inside core of the Death Star which is in a circular pattern and that's why it was done that way. That MOC was the first really big creation that I've done and surprised that you remembered it. I know what you mean about the lighting panels but that was gonna take even longer. AC

It's a WIP so there's bound to be changes in the final MOC. Found another way to make use of those arches! An epic scene from the movie and this had to click or I wouldn't have the courage to let it out. Surprisingly I just found them at a retail store. Got to get away from SW sometimes. More pics later on... Yes, it will be. Still working on it... Maybe another week to go. The circle is made up of four quarter arches stacked 12 deep. Some PoP minifigs are in this MOC. Not yet done, still building on it. Next week or so. AC

Disguised as stormtroopers, Han and Luke escort Chewbacca through the various levels of the Death Star to get to detention block AA-23, as part of their plan to rescue Princess Leia. As usual, click the pic for more details... AC
