  1. Thanks everyone for the nice comments And thank you Ecclesiastes for the frontpage
  2. Thanks everyone Yeah, that's one of the important characteristics of this type of boat, that they're clinker built, so I had to get that effect in. Skiff is not wrong, but it's just not precise enough. I don't know if the english language has a separate word for this particular category. It's very Scandinavian, since it's a derivate of the viking ships.
  3. I built this as a xmas-present for my grandmother this year. It's modeled after a typical old style "sørlandsjekte" which is the same as my grandparents used to have before my grandfather passed away. I could not find a name for this type of boat in english. In Norwegian it's most commonly referred to as a "sjekte" in the south of Norway, and a "snekke" elsewhere. The style and construction method of this type of boat is the same as viking ships used to have. Just modernized with an engine. These boats are not built to go fast though, they cruise along slowly, and make a very characteristic sound. 4. I recently competed in a seed part challenge called Duel of Pirates on the french forum brickpirate.net. The seed part was a modified 1x2 plate with ladder in dark tan I had two ideas for the part that both fit in a Japanese setting, but in different scale, so I went with a bit of forced perspective on this one. 7. I recently competed in a seed part challenge called Duel of Pirates on the french forum brickpirate.net. The seed part was a modified 1x2 plate with ladder in dark tan We were also challenged to build a two-wheeled vehicle including the seed piece, and this is what I built. 11. Here's my cryptic entry. I want lots of cool new Linux gadgets (Yes, the MOC does make sense, but it involves some symbolism)
  12. Sadly, it doesn't transform
  13. That's a very nice alternate from this set! Clever parts usage
  14. Eurobricks and Rebrickable were challenged by LEGO® to make alternate models for current year city sets. The builds had to only use the pieces in available in the official LEGO model, be made in LDD, digitized, tested in real brick and be a model a 7-10 year old could build. I received set 60061 "Airport Fire Truck". I found this set to be quite difficult to work with, especially because of the lack of normal 1xN bricks in red, but it was a fun challenge Here are my alternate models: Food truck The truck is equipped with an oven that might be turned up a bit too much Rendered image of digital model: American style truck Rendered image of digital model:

  16. I don't think lightsaber hilts are licensed. They've been used in non-licensed sets. I think licensed parts are only specific parts to the IP, that are not used in any other theme (like the TMNT turtle shells I presume, or Stormtrooper helmets). That's my understand of it anyway.
  17. They are adorable!
  18. Here's my turtle. Tried to make it look somewhat realistic. Click the picture to see him eating...
  19. This is adorable!
  20. Thanks guys Eh, yes, of course
  21. Maybe it's because it's not a minifig but a Fabuland fig Oh no, poor windmill!!
  22. It's better that way
  23. Thanks . No, it was not easy at all There was much swearing involved Haha, thanks. But no playing! It's purely for watching Heh, thanks. I don't think I want Emmet and his wrecking crew to come destroy it though Thank you . Haha, thanks. No problems with sneezing, it'll just wobble around a bit Thanks! Yeah, patience, swearing, more swearing, and some rebuilding at times Thank you
  24. Thanks . I did make sure it was well centered on the table, out of reach from accidental pushings, but I've never been so calm about displaying a fragile MOC before . Maybe because everyone else was terrified to touch it Thank you. Can't say I had seen that video before, but I can see why you made the connection
