  1. Thank you everyone, I'm glad you like it Yes, the size is a bit off. Minifig-scale is quite hard to work with, and it was also a case of it being hard to make the bar any smaller with the limitations of the brick, and still wanting to keep the level of detail I wanted. I haven't followed the Clone Wars, so I didn't even know about the Pong Krell minifig until a friend pointed it out to me .
  2. This is my entry for the semifinals of the Imperium der Steine MOC Olympics. The theme for this round was to build a minor scene, something in between the big scenes. I chose to build Dex's Diner from Episode II, where Obi-Wan goes to get information on the toxic dart from his friend Dex. Dex's Diner by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr Dex's Diner by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr I almost missed the deadline on this one, because I had an accident with the MOC 4 hours before the deadline as I was bringing it downstairs for photography, and I dropped it and it shattered quite badly. Luckily I was able to put it back together in time.
  3. Thank you everyone I'm happy to hear that my perspective works out so well. I took constant pictures from the front as I was building, to make adjustments to the positioning of things to get this effect. I had originally planned to build it taller and make the curved ceiling visible at the back end. Sadly, time (and parts...) ran out on me, so I had to frame it like this instead. Thank you for the feedback. Regarding the table, I considered SNOTing it, but I wanted it to not be too thick, and I liked the look I achieved with the rounded plates, so I left it like that. The choice of putting in just Obi-Wan and making the scene a bit dark is my personal dramatic effect choice . Let's call it artistic freedom As for Count Dooku, his statue most definitely is in the scene. And as much as I'd have loved to put that in, I didn't see a way of doing so using my choice of colour for them. I don't know what's on this special features disk, as I do not have that, so no, the idea was just from watching the movie.
  4. I reached the third round of the Imperium der Steine MOC Olympics, and my theme for this round was as follows: And we were told to focus on optical effects and interesting perspectives. I chose to build the Jedi Archives, and give it a forced perspective depth. Jedi Archives by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr "If an item does not appear in our records, it does not exist!" 5. Thank you everyone, I'm glad you like it For anyone who wonders, I won this round, so I'm now frantically building for the next Thank you I'm particularly fond of the nine-tailed fox. It turned out a little bit too big compared to the other creatures, but I liked it's look so much that I didn't want to change it. As for Samurai Dooku, I'm not sure it would have made sense for him to wear Samurai gear in the movies . I'm most please with how I was able to pose his sword, so it looks like he's ready to draw it. Thanks! Yes, the creatures are were I put the most of my efforts. So much in fact, that I didn't have much time to build the arena. I'm glad I was at least able to make it what it is in the time given. This whole thing is built in only 2 weeks (actually less, because it took me several days to decide what to build )
  6. I'm currently battling it out in the Imperium der Steine MOC Olympics, and for the second round I was given the task of building something that blends Star Wars with Asian culture. Specifically, the theme was given like this: It feels a bit weird to post this in the Star Wars forum, as the build itself looks more like it belongs someplace else. But the inspiration for the build is the scene from Petranaki Arena in Episode II, just reimagined in a Japanese setting, and with creatures from Japanese mythology. Here's my story about this mash-up: Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padmé have been captured, and are being presented as offerings to the animal Spirits of the forests of Geonosis. The Petranaki temple was built in honour of these Spirits, and used to be a place of worship. These Spirits used to be peaceful and would only punish the sinful, but with the raging wars of this era, powerful practicioners of the Force have managed to get the once peaceful creatures under their control, and is using them as a tool against their enemies. My opponent for this round is Markus1984, and here's his entry. Petranaki Temple by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr I built the creatures in color schemes resembling those of the original beasts from the movie. Dragon by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr My nine-tailed fox: Nine-tail fox by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr For anyone who don't know what a Qilin is (I'm guessing a lot, I only found out about it myself as I did my research for this build), it's a chimera from Asian mythology, which is described as a hooved animal with scales and an ox or lion's tail. The head is in Chinese mythology usually more dragon-like, while in Japanese versions it's more like a deer. Both versions have deer like antlers though. Wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qilin Qilin by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr And because they can't be seen well in the back, here's a bonus shot of my ninja Jango and samurai Dooku. Ninja Jango and Samurai Dooku by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr I know this is kind of untraditional for a Star Wars build, but I hope you like it anyway (If the mods feel this should rather be posted in a different sub-forum, feel free to move it.)
  7. Thank you everyone Neo-80s style Of course Yep!
  8. What I really love about this is the color scheme. And also how you always find a nifty use for those basketball hoops
  9. I really like the atmosphere you created with this. The green leg of the Ackley especially is well done and conveys the situation they're in very well. I would have liked to see some more of at least one of the smaller creatures though. The little paw of the Nexu there is a bit too anonymous (it took me a while to even notice it was there), and would have looked better with a complete animal, or at least a front part of it that could have been posed in an attack mode. I hope to see more builds from you soon, and don't be afraid to build out of your comfort zone
  10. Thank you everyone for the nice comments! Yes, I know the yellow speeder may be a bit too long, particularly in the front, but the width is kind of given if I wanted to seat two minifigs and have this level of detail. It could maybe have been 1 stud narrower, but then I couldn't have used those sand green mudguards in the front, which I really liked the look of. I actually started by building the engines and putting them under the sand green mudguards, so the whole speeder is scaled according to that. It is also shorter than the green speeder (which I built first), so I don't think they are very off in scale with regards to each other. Thank you . Mission accomplished! I probably went a bit overboard, but it was worth it! And I guess no rest for me the next couple of weeks What? I'm sure Rolli likes the work! Thanks, I'm glad you like it . I tried to do the most out of it I could within the 32x32. The green speeder is actually pretty much exactly 32 studs long, so it would have been a tight fit if I were placing them horizontally That tall building (which is just a wall, really ) is using pretty much all my black bricks .
  11. I built this scene from Episode II where Anakin and Obi-Wan chase after Zam Wesell for the Imperium Der Steine MOC Olympics (imperiumdersteine.de) Pull up, Anakin! by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr Alternate view by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr Individual pictures of the two speeders: XJ-6 airspeeder by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr Yeah, I don't own a Zam Wesell minifig, so I had to improvise on that... 12. Need to tank up your personal spacecraft? Why not stop at the Octan fuel station and then get a bite to eat at the Milliways diner before continuing your journey. Octan space fuel station by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr Milliways - space diner by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr These two creations were built for the Eurobricks space collaborative at Brickworld this year, where they were suspended above the layout
  13. Thanks guys
  14. I built this airship, in the style of the newer Mario games, to showcase my Koopalings at Brickworld Koopalings' airship by Cecilie Fritzvold, on Flickr
  15. Killer killer whale - I built a killer whale for a Mixel alternate contest at the EB event, and then it killed the competition. Given to me by Peppermint.
  16. I have a feeling this will be an unproductive workday for me
  17. LEGO movie was correct. But none of us guessed it prior to the posting of the image.
  18. Woo! Well, I guess he can still beat me
  19. It is indeed! And my slow brain today actually took a while to make the connection Am I not 1 point ahead of Rolli if my guess of The LEGO Movie was correct?
  20. The LEGO Movie? I'm going to guess that number 3 and 1 were made by Lukas & Elias (Do I have to guess which specifically for which? )
  21. I think he's suffering from sleep deprivation
  22. Then I'll guess Chima
  23. Are you saying you have trained crows to check EB for you?
