Cecilie's Collectable Minifigures vignettes - series 4
Cecilie replied to Cecilie's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks . Yes, I try to make the figs look "alive" in their scenes. The hazmat guy is my favourite too . Thanks . Thanks . I never thought I would be able to display them all together either, and I guess exhibitions is the only place I'll have the space to do so. At least until I can move into a castle or something . I'm just wondering how it's all gonna look when we reach series 42! -
Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 4 Building Contest
Cecilie replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hm, category B is going to be tough. I'm not really a customizer, so coming up with 16 unique figs might be pushing it a little... Not to mention building a creative 16x16 vig to fit them all... I think my brain is going into meltdown . -
Very nicely done, looks just like the real thing! And those custom minifigs are awesome! I just wish the real McDonald's hamburgers were that big . Now, the only thing missing is a drive thru

VOTING: Design a Direct-To-Consumer (D2C) set
Cecilie replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I can see that my entry falls short of all these amazing other entries... oh well. These are my favourites: 3/ Ignacia Village by quy - 1 point (I would so buy this!) 10/ Ninjago Battle Chess Arena by Kris Kelvin - 1 point (something like this might never be made, but it would be so awesome if it were!) 12/ Attack of the Dojo by lego-maniac - 1 point (I might have more play features in my dojo, but yours is so beautiful!) 18/ Treasure hunt on the river Nile by Nieks - 1 point (this is just, wow...) 29/ The Jellyfish Cafe by gabe - 1 point (very creative!) 32/ The Final Ruins by Jalkow - 1 point (gorgeous build, and I agree with you that we are missing this type of sets in the Atlantis theme) 39/ The Dojo and the underground by arlutik - 1 point (great idea, and lovely dojo) Great job everyone! -
Talking about me? (Missing an "i" there ). And yes, I did like it, it was a very nice layout. I'm just happy none of the children leaning in over the barriers knocked my display over . Although they did knock the sign asking people not to touch the models over a few times .

Ok, ok, I give up, don't shoot me .

That's a cute little vig you've made there. The Link minifig is spot on . Not in the Wii game(s) he's not .

Cecilie's Collectable Minifigures vignettes - series 4

Thanks everyone for your nice comments . Seems like you guys can't get enough of these . That would kind of defeat the purpose, which is to have a modular display shelf . That's true, a picture can never replace the real thing. You should have seen all the kids passing by my display here. They are all going "look! It's the minifigures!". And then they are leaning over the barriers and pointing as close as they can while stating which figs they like, own or can spot. -
Cecilie's Collectable Minifigures vignettes - series 4

I finished series 4 during easter, just in time to take pictures of them, and pack them away to take with me to AFOLCon in Manchester, where I have enough space to have all 4 series next to each other for the first time! Luckily, they all survived the transport on the plane, so scroll down for a picture of them all. But first, a close up of a selected few. Yes, I couldn't resist, the vig of the mad scientist and the monster fit together as a pair: Series 4 together: And series 1 to 4 together: As usual, you can see them all in my flickr stream . -

D2C Contest: Spinjitsu Training Temple

Thanks . I just wish I'd been able to take some better photos of it, I just feel that my photos aren't doing it justice... Thanks, I hope you'll vote for me then . -
What a beatiful street! This looks like it could be taken right out of a real city street. The facades are excellent, with the SNOT-tiling mixing in lovely with the rest. The interior is also really nicely done. Great job on this .

D2C Contest: Spinjitsu Training Temple
Cecilie replied to Cecilie's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for all the nice comments everyone, I'm glad you like it. Not quite sure what tiling you're talking about. The tiling of the inside is necessary to hide the dbg floor (which would have been really ugly, and it is viewable from 3 of the 4 sides ), and the tiling outside isn't really tiling, it's the floor boards (there aren't plates underneath more than just the connection points). That was my intention . I was hoping someone would notice that . Haha, I didn't think of that Thanks, I'm ready for battle! -
Anyone remember the video of Kai starting his spinjitsu training from the Ninjago movie? (If not, you can see it here: ). Needless to say, I have watched this little clip more than once over the past weeks, as my entry is heavily inspired by this .So I present, the Spinjitsu Training Temple. The following two pictures have the spinning center thing removed to get a clearer picture. And with the spinning center back in place: The inside of the temple, viewed from the back: This set comes with 5 minifigs, Kai in his blacksmith clothes, Cole, Zane and Jay in their black ninja clothes (as in this clip: ) and Sensei Wu. This set has lots of play features. All the training equipment spins and moves (except for the pillars in front of the gate), and there are 3 sliding doors (double in the front and one on each side). I have uploaded a video showing all the moving bits here: The set is also modular in the way that each of the 4 baseplate-sections can easily be detached from the rest. More pictures in my flickr stream. I had a lot of fun making this, hope you like it .

I love these figs, I want lots of them all! Anyway... it's a tough choice to choose only one army builder fig. In my opinion, there isn't really one fig above all else for army building if you look at it in the way of "what fig do I see myself actually needing an army of for a MOC I want to make". I mean, the spartan is obvious as an army builder because of 300 and such, but I'm never going to do any such scene. The elf is great, who doesn't want a lot of him? But as others have mentioned, he isn't that easily customizable because of the hair, and additionally, I don't ever see myself making a large forest scene where I might need bucket loads of elves (I wonder if someone is ever going to quote this post and prove me wrong ). The forestman is of course cool too, and more easily customizable, but again, I don't see why I would need more than a small group of them. And the musketeer? Well, I think 4 will be plenty enough of him for me . So, now that I've dismissed all of your Fabulous Four as army builder figs to my taste (when talking about army building, I'm thinking more than just 10-20, but more like 50-100 at least), what figs would I choose as army builders? From series 1, I see 3 candidates: the zombie, the robot and the ninja. I'm not that into zombie-stuff and the robot just isn't cool enough to amass an army of (I'm thinking about Cylons and stuff ), and the ninja has kind of lost his edge with ninjago. But I'd personally love to have a huge army of ninjas . From series 2, there really isn't any good candidate to battle the spartan. I hear Quarryman is trying to amass a load of them to make a roman army by using only their torso and legs. I think that sounds cooler than spartans at least... From series 3 there's the mummy and the samurai. The mummy, like the ninja, kind of loses it's edge with Pharao's Quest, but other than that, like the zombie, he's a great fig for a horror army. But if I'm going to have an army of ninjas, I would need an army of samurais to battle them . From series 4, it has to be the viking and the sailor. But since I'm not that into ship building (at least not yet ), I think the viking would be my favorite army builder from this series. So all in all? I can't really decide, I guess I'm not really an army builder anyway. Needless to say, I voted "other" .

I like this series you've got going here, and this is definitely your best so far. At least it's my personal favorite The scene feels so alive and real, and the curving of the ship is exceptionally well done. Looking forward to seeing more in this series .

Very nice, looks really authentic . I love how you did the joint between the two wagons. And that modern-looking metro station is great . But maybe this belongs in the Train Tech subforum?

Magnifique! The real Arc de Triomphe is such an impressive structure, and your version really does it justice. I'm amazed at how you cram all those details into it . Loving it .

That's some detailed buildings you've got there, they look almost real! Way to introduce yourself and welcome to Eurobricks! Hope to see more nice creations from you in the future.

I had high expectations for this after seeing your WIP, and you don't disappoint! . The end result is stunning, really a very beautiful MOC. Too bad Australia is a bit to far from Norway to just drop by and see this , I would have loved to see it in real life.

That is one awesome modular! What's not to like? . You got some really nice patterns on the facades there, and the interior is just so well done. I'm just blown away. And the diner and theater complement eachother real nicely. I'm gonna just sit here and stare at those photos for a while... Maybe even find some inspiration for my own movie theater that I've been fiddling with for a while .

Wow, that's a really unique ramp, very creative! The skaters using this gotta have some guts . I'm having some difficulties seeing how you attached the tiles to the base though... Btw, nice use of the ice skater's hair .

Really creative use of slopes there! This looks awesome already, and it's not even finished! Looking forward to seeing it done .
