  1. That's a very fascinating experiment. The LEGO one looks like it's made of Duplo or something next to the Nanoblock version . Looking forward to seeing more of these!
  2. Congratulations to the winners, well deserved! Sadly, I never got around to vote for category 2 and 3 .
  3. That's an excellent calendar design! And very inspirational... I might borrow (read: shamelessly steal ) some of your ideas to make myself an equally cool calendar for my desk at work .
  4. Thanks for all the nice comments . And here's a picture of all 5 series together, as displayed in Skærbæk this weekend. I'm going to have trouble fitting them all in one shot as it grows!
  5. I had a great time, and I'm definitely coming back next year! Oh, and I think this pic of my car says it all about how much LEGO I bought on this trip .
  6. I never knew about the existence of these. Great review! If they made a new and upgraded version that didn't look quite so , I might want to have one on my desk at work, just for the fun of it .

    The Globe!

In other words, sturdy enough .

    The Globe!

Now that's an interesting technique for building a sphere in Lego! It looks really great . How sturdy is it?
  9. I see you already had the announcement ready to go . And yes, it's a printed tile for the hotel sign, but as far as I could see, it's 1x6, not 1x5. the orange part is the new brick separator.
  10. price: 79.99 usd, 59.99 gbp
  11. Link to broadcast of new set here now: http://twitter.com/eiker86 Jamie is about to reveal a new non-leaked exclusive set at Lego Fan Weekend in Skærbæk now. Check the link above for live stream by eiker86.

  13. Thanks everyone . What I personlly like a lot about this process is that even the most boring figures comes to life when given a little scene of their own. And it's not necessarily my most favorite figures that end up having my most favorite vig . Now bring on series 6!
  14. Ah, series 5. I struggled a lot coming up with ideas for many of these, probably because many of the figs reminded me too much of previously released figs, and so it was hard to get a fresh new idea for a vig. But, in the end, I managed to squeeze out an idea for every one of them . So I present my 5th addon to this series. All of series 5 together: Detailed pictures of the rest can be seen on flickr. Next weekend I'll be displaying all 5 series at LEGO Fan Weekend in Skærbæk, Denmark, so I'll be guetting pictures of all 5 series together then. Update: Here's a picture of all 5 series together
  15. Thank you . I'm glad someone noticed my use of the helmet as a bell, I really spent a long time figuring out that little detail . Thank you for the kind words, but I guess I'm going to have to disagree with you on the color use . I like things to be colorful, and I chose some untraditional colors because I wanted to do something slightly unexpected. I've never built a train before, so I didn't think I could compete with veteran train builders anyway, wanting instead to make this a fun challenge for myself. As for the choice of purple, it was partly because purple was the color I had the most train windows in, after buying two Knight Buses .
  16. Great review Pandora! Seems like you made mostly the same observations I did when I put mine together (it was in impulse purchase...), you even made the same mistake as me: forgetting to put the cape on the king . And I agree that it's quite expensive for what you're getting, and I really wish they would choose a different default face for the females...
  17. That's a very cute windmill . Looks right at home in Fabuland. I agree that the second floor looks a bit drafty, but it's a windmill! I bet the miller likes a draft in his bedroom .
  18. Wow, that's a very well created bird! Looks really authentic. Great posing too, I can see how that was difficult . And I like that flower design as well, nice little detail .
  19. Linko: Those are excellent! Really cool lighting . I especially like the one with the surfer on the beach. It has that postcard feeling .
  20. I can almost feel the wind looking at this one, thanks to the great posing of the trees. Good luck in the competion .
  21. The fastest locomotive in the west, The Yellow Flash. The locomotive is mostly modelled after a real locomotive, but the wagons are only inspired by the real stuff. And before anyone starts nitpicking: I'm not a train expert . Post and baggage wagon, with sliding doors inspired by Ralph_S' sliding door technique. Passenger wagon Dining wagon Caboose At first I was going to skip this category, as I don't have any prior experience building trains. But then I thought I might give it a try anyway, for the challenge . With a bit more time I might have been able to put on some stickers and add a few more details, but it's hard to try to enter all three categories . Since I'm a bit late with this, I haven't had time to clean up and upload all of my photos yet. There's a few more in my flickr stream, and some more will be arriving shortly.
  22. Really cool banner and color scheme . I used to love Aquazone and Aquasharks as a kid. Too bad all that stuff is still in boxes in my mother's attic... Maybe I'll have to go fishing for some parts in those boxes . I'll see if I can get around to liquefy my avatar too
  23. Happy birthday to the one (as far as I can see) who starts the most of these threads . Looks like you had a good birthday haul .
  24. Thanks for the nice comments I don't recall the rules saying the custom fig has to include something non-LEGO . I felt I could portray the figure I wanted with already existing pieces, so I did (thanks LEGO for the hat with hair). No need to make a decal just for the sake of making a decal... Besides, I suck at making decals . To me, LEGO is all about building with what is available! PotC it is! If LEGO hadn't made that piece, it would have been a lot harder to get this fig to look right.
