  1. There's never time to rest between the contests here, is there? I gotta live up to my title too .
  2. Wow, 4th place, don't think I've ever ranked better in a LEGO contest before . Many thanks to everyone who voted for me and to the contest organizers. And congratulations to the other winners .
  3. I gotta chime in with the rest here. That building is excellent, and the interior is also very well done. Lovely stairs too. But that tram is just  .
  4. I would never have thought that car could transform just by looking at it. Very good job at hiding it! The car itself is very nice, and in the transformed state it looks really cute . I was a fan of transformers as a child, and I love seeing real transforming cars in LEGO, especially ones as well done as this .
  5. This just gave me ideas for a new set of office pranks!
  6. I bought the Isla de la Muerta set very early, and was disappointed about the pearl gold bars and coins like the rest of you, but I decided to wait until we had an official statement from LEGO about it before complaining to customer service (the issue was raised by the ambassodors as soon as the first images of the pearl gold appeared). After getting the explanation and the number for the prepacked set of coins and bars, I immediately sent a request to customer service using the damaged parts form on the website and stating both the item number in the instructions and the item number for the gold coins. I very quickly got a reply saying the new elements were on the way, and today, I found gold in my mail! . 8 gold coins (new type) and 2 gold bars .
  7. I'd just like to add one remark to category B: I think the limit of 5 photos for 16 figs and a large 16x16 vig is too little. I struggled to present my entry in a good way in just 5 photos, it was a choice between detailed pictures of the build or detailed pictures of the figs. Of course, you can link to an outside gallery, but a lot of people will never click on that link. 5 photos may be a necessary limit when all entries are to be placed in one thread, but this contest may have been more suitable for the format I have seen for other contests, with one thread pr entry, and then more pictures could have been allowed. Just my opinion...
  8. This category was both really difficult, and a lot of fun. I've spent quite a lot of time working on my figures and my vig, and I've enjoyed every second of it. But voting is really hard. The three entries that I've picked have (in my opinion) a good variety in figs, a creative build and a good overall execution, in addition to the fact that I like them of course . 4) World Tree (Build by lisqr) - 1 point 6) Lunchtime at The Column of Times (Build by shmails) - 1 point 7) The Laboratory Of Time (Build by Ninja Nin) - 1 point
  9. Loads of great entries in this category as usual, and after careful consideration, here are my top three (in no particular order): 20) Artist Entry (Build by lisqr) - 1 point 21) Mad Scientist Entry (Build by Darkblane) - 1 point 38) Kimono Girl Entry (Build by pelle) - 1 point
  10. My entry is for the skater. The skater is no longer content with ramps in the skating park, and wants to try jumping over a valley... (skater goes on top, ready to jump) See it with the skater on flickr.
  11. These look really realistic! Like taken right out of an old black and white movie. Great job!
  12. Thanks for the reminder, I've gotta get around to photographing my category A entry...
  13. You really crammed a lot of stuff into those buildings, without it looking crowded, excellent job . The facades look great, they could easily be mistaken for official modular buildings. Your sidewalk trick is a nice touch too. Btw, I hope those tiny hotel rooms are cheap . Oh, and poor artist, I feel for him...
  14. Right by the local beach lies a tall building that houses offices and apartments for rent. Hoverboard girl: She came from the future to experience life in the 21th century and buzzes around on her hoverboard. Previous adventures has seen her accidently bring a druid from the past, and she hasn't cared to bring the poor guy back. Reggae guitarist: Walks around beaches and parks and plays reggae on his trusty guitar. He is often mistaken for a homeless and given change by passers by. Accessories: guitar (from brickforge) Male lifeguard: He runs around the beach flexing his large muscles to impress the ladies. When there's a girl drowning, he's quick to the rescue, but he might take a bit longer if it's a guy. Accessory: rescue buoy Old style diver: He collects old diving helmets and sometimes takes them for a test dive. Accessories: diving helmet and air supply tank. Golfer: After he struck a hole in one on his first trip to the golf field ever (his dad brought him once as a child), he's now obsessed with becoming the world's best golfer. Alas, he's not really any good, and frequently sends the goldball flying way off the field... Accessories: golf club (from brickforge) and golf ball Ballerina: She has done ballet since early childhood and has made her entire appartment into a ballet practice room with large windows so that the world can see her performance. Computer geek: Spends most of his time programming on one of his numerous linux machines. He's the goto guy when you have computer problems (of course, he hates that, he's not tech support! But beeing a friendly geek, he always helps out). Accessories: Laptop and smartphone Bagpipe player: He's pround of his heritage, and practices playing his bagpipe as often as he can. But the question everyone wants answered: is he wearing underwear? Accessories: bagpipe Band kid: Plays the drum in the school band. He likes to march down the street playing even without the rest of his band. Accessories: Drum and drumsticks Invisible man: Being invisble is not just a walk in the park. In fact, to be able to walk in the park without bumping into people, the invisible man wears a black hat and a cloak. But this has the side effect of scaring people off. He has tried to get doctors to give him skin with color, but the surgeons never find him once he's naked on the operating table. Surgeon: Always ready to save you from life threatening injuries, the surgeon is well renowned for his skills and expertise. He has been having some difficulties helping the invisible man though... Accessories: scalpel Gingrebread man: Created in an attempt to set a world record for largest gingerbread man, he somehow came to life and scared the chef away. He now feels very sad and lonely (even though his face is stuck in a smile), and hopes to someday meet a gingerbread woman. Accessories: candy cane Cosplayer: Goes to as many cosplaying events and costume parties as she can, and always has a new costume from one of her many favourite anime, mangas and games. Accessories: school bag. Skeleton guy: He has seen one too many pirates movies, and thinks skeletons are super cool. He wears his skeleton costume as often as he can, and goes to all costume parties he can find. He once found a real bone (he thinks it's human, but it's probably not) and he carries it around everywhere. Accessories: bone Druid: Brought here from the past in a time machine, he's a bit confused in this day and age. Misses his forest where he could find herbs for anything. Accessories: sickle (from brickforge) Roman citizen: Well, he's not really a roman citizen, but he dreams himself back to those times. Always walks around in a toga and sandals, and speaks latin fluently. Since he's so familiar with that age, the lost druid from the past has been placed in his care. Accessories: book And a picture of the 16 custom figs together: Loads more detailed pics can be seen in my flickr stream.
  15. You just blew my mind... That is really impressive! That's a difficult building, and you've replicated all those details really well. Looks really good with the lighting too. . (And I can't help but drool over all that trans blue deliciousness )
  16. You just never cease to amaze. That's another pair of really great buildings, with a nicely done rear too. And that pinball machine is pure genious .
  17. It may be too big for you, but I remembered seeing some garden gnomes in a modular building that was posted here on EB that I really liked, so I searched it up: Modular Cast Iron Florist by sonicstarlight. His two garden gnomes (pic on flickr) are instantly recognizable.
  18. Awesome 2cv! And a greatly done scene. I can't remember this Bond scene though... Which movie is it from?
  19. From all the positive feedback I'm getting on these, I really can't stop making them . I just hope I can keep the creative flow going for the series to come... That thought has not crossed my mind, no, sorry. And to all you who think I'm improving for each series, and that series 4 is the best so far: I really hope you're right, because series 1 was one of my first MOCs ever, and improving my building skills is one of the things I'm trying to do with these . And thanks to all of you for all the support .
  20. Wow, that is one awesome building! It looks so real! I love all your little details . Those balconies look really great. And behind that wonderfully detailed facade, you have some really amazing interior. Nice touch with those interior glass walls. And that copier is spot on, instantly recognizable . I wish to someday be as good a builder as you .
  21. Awww, they are gorgeous . Lots of great details in there. The roof is a real eye-catcher, lovely done. And now I can't stop looking at all your other awesome buildings on flickr .
  22. The more I think about category B, the more ideas I have. Yey for these contests, they really spark my imagination!

    MOC: Sauna

Sure it does, you just need to embed the link to the actual image file. Select the size you want to embed on flickr, right click and select "copy image location", then use than in an [ img ] tag. Like this: [img=http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2039/5703067468_17e7740404.jpg] Oh, and nice little vig, you've captured the sauna feel just perfectly .
  24. Congratulations to the winners, it's well deserved! Thank you . I too am a bit sad that only PQ entries made the top three, seeing as Ninjago is my favourite of the three themes (obviously...). But the winning entries are great, and they actually look like sets too, unlike some other entries (like mine ). I had a lot of fun building it though, and this contest inspired me to build something way larger than I had ever attempted before, which has been a great learning experience. So thanks to the contest organizers .
  25. And for those who just want pictures, here's mine:
