This MOC feels so alive, it's awesome! Nice touch with the roast pig, it accentuates the sense of a rushed evacuation. And I really like how you've blended old islander minifigs with newer minifig-parts, they all look like they fit together as islanders, and it gives more versatility than just using old islander figs. I hope the poor guy who looks like he's about to fall over in the lava stream will be ok

Now this was a weird topic in an AFOL-forum... I'd say of course beeing an AFOL is nerdy. Every hobby that makes the people around you give you a weird look when you tell them about it would be considered nerdy. I've gotten more than one weird look from colleagues, family and friends when telling them about my hobby. But do I care? No, I actually want to be a geek/nerd. And I was a geek long before I came out of my dark ages. I work in a geek environment (I'm a computer programmer), and even amongst the other geeks in my office, I'm considered geeky (as in more geeky than the rest of them), probably because of my passionate way of talking about my nerdy hobbies and interests (such as LEGO, Linux, Nintendo, manga/anime...). Would you think I was a geek if you saw me on the street and didn't know me? Maybe, but that's only because I'm a girl who doesn't really dress like a girl. I wear jeans, t-shirts (well, often geeky t-shirts, so that might be a give-away ), hoodies and sneakers. Every day. All the time (except at formal parties where there's a dress code). But it's who I am. I'm a proud geek who happens to be a girl. And I'm going to keep talking passionately about my hobbies even if people give med weird looks and laughs a bit about it. If people can't accept me for who I am, then it's their problem, not mine.

Excellent work, and a very cute display . Now you just need the Tower Bridge to go with it, should fit the scale of those cars pretty well . Although it might look too big next to those cute buildings

Awesome! . Great job making this look like an authentic Japanese temple. Those roofs are excellent, and you've really captured the "look and feel".

This is really a stunning MOC, I love it . I especially like the japanese-inspired bits, as I'm a Japan fan, but the entire thing is awesome . Your attention to detail is impressive. Oh, and that glass-roofed restaurant is really nice. Btw, I agree with L@go, you shouldn't be so lazy with deeplinking pictures . Everyone can manage deeplinking at least a few pictures of their MOC to draw people in and make them want to see more in your photostream.

Excellent ski lift, it looks just like the real thing! I've been fiddling with the idea of making a minifig-scaled ski lift myself, but one that actually runs (motorized with PF). Yours is giving me some new ideas though . Good luck in the contest.

That's a gorgeous building, with so many nice details . I love all those pretty arches, and that tram is just so cute! Good luck in the contest!

Nice bedrooms, I especially like the Star Wars themed one, it's so cool . And the game console is a nice touch too. I've really enjoyed following this thread and seeing the MOC progress.

By the power of magic (or some luck with finding christmas presents fast yesterday), I have found the time to redesign my roof . Hope you all like my new (and by my personal opinion , improved) roof. First post updated with new pics, but here is a picture of the new roof by itself: Thanks . Hope you still like it with the new roof.

Such a messy garden, just the way it should be! I love all the details you've put in to that garden, it really looks like the garden of a family home.

Thanks I appreciate your honesty, and yes, I know it's not a complex technique, but it takes time to make such a change, and make it look good. But I'll see what I can do if I find the time in the busy days leading up to christmas... Thanks . The stove was quite difficult to get right, glad you like it.

Indeed they are! Thanks , and I'll play in the snow when it stops beeing so bloody cold here, and we get a little more than the thin layer of snow that we have now I knew someone was going to mention my roof . Yes, I'm not quite happy with the roof (I really need to practice making roofs...), but I actually chose to use slopes instead of plates to try and differentiate my building somewhat from the official sets. Guess it wasn't a huge success . Don't think I'll have time to do any thing about it before the contest ends though .

I like the upgraded facade, it looks very nice . And that shower is gorgeous. Btw, I wish my bathroom was that big .

Thanks Thanks I tried making the sled smaller, but it just didn't look right, so I went with the bulkier version. It will be part of my winter/christmas layout that I'm working on, and will stay in my living room for more than 3 weeks .

Thanks everyone for your nice comments, I'm glad you like it Thanks. Sometimes, crazy ideas make good designs That one was particularly difficult, but once I had decided I wanted to make one, I wasn't ready to give up!

Well, clearly he arrived in his sleigh, and then went upstairs in time for those indoor shots

Here's my entry for the winter village contest: Santa's post office. To help out with collecting wishlists from the kids and distributing all the gifts, Santa is getting help from the local post office. More images in my flickr stream. Edit: Changed the design of the roof.

Wow, those aquariums are pure awesome! And that guy climbing the wall outside looks so focused . Really cool building, and the interior really blows you away. Love it all
-
Very nice pharmacy . The spiral staircase is really great (I'm a sucker for spiral staircases in LEGO ). That lava lamp is also a really nice touch. I think you've done a great job on both the exterior and interior of this building

This was one of my first sets as a child, and I really loved it. So nostalgic to read your review . I miss the time when LEGO planes looked liked that, it's so much nicer than the new big-nose-piece-look of today in my opinion...

Ok, wow, just wow... That's really an impressing ship. The curves on the hull are very nicely done, and the detailing is really good. Thanks for showing pictures of the building processes, it actually makes it even more awesome.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
Cecilie replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow, I'm totally blown away by these. Series 3 was actually a bit of a letdown with several figs that didn't appeal to me at all, but this series is just plain awesome. There isn't a single fig I don't like! Now only hoping we will see the hat of the garden gnome in red, so we can finally get an authentic looking santa -
Now, that is a nice family home! Not only is it a beautiful building on the outside, but the interior is so detailed I don't even know where to begin... The kitchen, the bathroom (love that shower), the living room (that coffe table looks just like my real one ), heck, all the rooms are great, and very inspirational! And great idea to have it both open and have removable floors . Nice choice of baseplate too btw, the printed path fits in perfectly. Great job!

Thanks Yes, the train runs very smoothly, apart from the rear wagon itself wich seems to be a bit too short for it's weight (it looks kind of unstable when running, but it goes around the curves without any difficulties, even at high speeds).
