8265 vs 8043 B model
roamingstop replied to davidmull's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Check the S@H sales page - then click the 'show all deals' link (it is written text) and you will discover most PF stuff comes with discount once you buy a certain amount. It still seems to be valid still even now. -
It was a placeholder for work in progress - and has now been updated with links to all the specific sub-models of the large set.

Newbie's attempt at LDD
roamingstop replied to Cloud0's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I really love the greenhouse - for me it is a great design and one which could be interesting to use in the future... Thanks! -
I did not see it posted, so spent a fun hour or two starting 7939 Cargo Train LXF file Each of the sub models is also available seperately, and they are also sub-grouped in the main LXF. Locomotive:LXF file I could not find the correct train corner brackets (under the windscreen) so created some custom parts. Same as the rechargable battery box (with coloured tiles instead of buttons) Wrong 9V motor... Tanker:LXF file The 6x6 radar dishes will not fit properly on the circular tanker parts. Yet another problem with the dishes (same as 10016 models). I have used a pink axle (2L) to help locate it. Freight Container:LXF file and alternate roofing . Difference is in the container roof - to make end pieces more stable. The cars (wheels) of the model wont fit into the lattice work - this was a bug in LDD 3.x as well, but is official build. Car Wagon:LXF file Crane:LXF file Truck & Trailer:LXF file Additional Errors There are no new RC track points... so I have used placeholder track (red) for now. There are no RC controller parts I forgot the mini-figs - to do. EDIT LDD 4 Versions LXF file Locomotive:LXF file Tanker:LXF file Freight Container:LXF file Truck & Trailer:LXF file Car Wagon:LXF file Crane:LXF file

Bearing in mind how much lead time is required in a) model concepts, b) fine tuning c) prototype production and testing, d) finishing the final and producing stock... it is quite likely that a Bank could be the hint for 2012.

Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)
roamingstop replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Train Tech
As mentioned before the dutch site was quoting 149 Euro for the kit... so the pack on its own will be less.- 379 replies

Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)
roamingstop replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Train Tech
According to a website. Lego Power Functions Kit 10219... Comes with 8884, 8879, 8878, 8887, 88002... price 149.95 Euro (pre order 139.95 euro) So the model without these is probably going to be a bit cheaper...- 379 replies

Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)
roamingstop replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Worth visting the link above. It looks like white stickers under the windows... (you can find them on the sticker sheet on the link above) The containers are formed from lots of these And their trucks will be more than 7 wide - a right angle bracket and plate to hold the containers in place.- 379 replies

No way for me to be there - but will TLG be present?... possibly releasing some exclusives?
-
Sorry I had remembered (incorrectly) 800 width. It will be resized, but I am now traveling for the next few days and wont get to update it until Sunday. Thanks for the hints on light blue grey - I had remembered SuperKalles Excel sheet incorrectly. It will be updated on Sunday.

I never said is wasn't - It is different and also agree there are only a few ways to make Pullman observation cars. I actually wanted the link to highlight some of the pictures / links I had also posted to your thread of observation cars in the Pullman style. Personally I think an observation car with slightly rounded windows at the back would be better. It is on my plan of things to do - especially since I will be moving (one day) to 7x44 / 8x44 styles (like Coopers trucks on Moc Pages). This would allow two people to be sat at the back - looking out.

I saw this link on Engadget... and it made me smile http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/02/lego-bot-built-to-test-knos-tablet-textbook-human-overlords-wa/ Especially since I also designed a MindStorms related test rig for some sensors at work. I wonder how many others use Lego for cheap automated test systems?

Nice take on AussieJimbo's Emerald Belle observation car. His thread has some useful links to the real Emerald Belle observation car (currently running service on Corfe Castle railway I believe) in classic EN colour schemes. This addition does help nicely with your other custom EN cars - it must be quite a long train by now... any videos of the observation car as it pulls through the countryside?

7239 Fire Truck LXF File Errors: The boat will not allow the outboard motor to join (boundary error) The boat will not allow the orange life-vest to sit properly I had not got around to positioning the fire-extinguishers in the cupboard No string on the reel at the back EDIT LDD V4 Versions LXF File

Just a quick question - I recently received a new, but opened 8283 Telehandler. There are two sealed polybags + instructions etc inside, but it waa not clear how many sealed plastic bags I would expect. For many of the modern town / system series it is easy to see (from the instructions) how many poly bags exist, but is there such a resource for Technic models? Thanks, RS

Railbricks has links in various issues on how to do it - I dont remember who was responsible off the top of my head but suspect Sava... http://www.railbricks.com/browse-posts?start=67 http://www.railbricks.com/browse-posts?start=87 Plus RailBricks Issue #6 has some details on a 3 axle indiana jones truck. And Issue #5 shows how to build 3 axle motorised trucks (replace truck with bogey if in UK English)- I think attributed to Swoofty And I forgot in RailBricks #6 (P62) is Scot Wardlow's powered 3 axle truck as part of what appears to be a GB40 (but im not good on train numbers, just looks).

Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)
roamingstop replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Reading through some of the brickset comments... and also about the London Toy Fair. 1. It seems the picture was posted on the Lego cache website. TLG seem to be annoyed that it was accidentally released, as it was supposed to be a surprise at an AFOL event.... 2. There will (apparently) be 5 harbor sets released during 2011 - including one with a cargo / grain capacity. But no pictures or further details provided so treat as speculation. 3. Lego stand at London Toy Fair was closed to cameras - and apparently only open on an invite basis. So news will understandably be scarce, and I respect that. Lets be good to TLG and now wait patiently for whichever big AFOL event (including a railroad section) is approaching. Some people seeing it in the flesh will be very lucky. It also seems that some people have seen it in the flesh and are honoring TLG's wishes (not me).- 379 replies

Build a B unit and hide it in the bodywork - possibly using what appears to be a trick of the 10219 maersk - i.e. a flat plate 12x4 with studs only along the side... mounted at right angles to cover the grey colour of the battery pack. It should work and look fine - if they exist in Yellow.
