  1. Railbricks has the overview http://www.railbricks.com/ http://www.railbricks.com/railblog-categories/announcements/247-salvation-is-here And will it be compatible with Indy-Jones track?
  2. Just a linkto the other post for the instructions
  3. Building instructions http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstructions/4632677.pdf http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstructions/4632672.pdf And my first guess for the LXF file for the wagons was pretty accurate... http://www.roamingstudio.com/lego/10219-Wagons.lxf And is that a new modified tile piece I see on page 14 The instructions are even more beautiful than the model!!!...
  4. Ordered three in Switzerland (ouch, expensive) and the rest will be picked up in USA when I visit in the summer... At least the Swiss ones will be in nice MISB boxes for the future.... the USA ones will be shipped stripped down by a friend and repacked. The review means I might not be able to resist building soon...
  5. Space2310 did some real nice Technic powered bogeys for the I-Jones track, and perhaps his technique can help. It was posted in eurobricks and also I think on railbricks site. But fitting them into a model (e.g. in the boiler) might be a bit difficult.
  6. So one more day to go before the 'end of the month'. Either ME Models is pushing the limit exactly or the 1st April will be a new month...
  7. Better pictures now.... and interesting to note the 'architecture' tab on the S@H themes section shows the Farnsworth building, but still no listing.
  8. Is that a custom green plate with water line? Ive slowly got most of the Architect series and this one looks great... another nice treat. We just need to have the Planet space ship launching out the back.
  9. Thanks Wallace... sorry Mikka. The voltage on C1 / C2 lines of PF regulates the speed; look up Philo's home page. The DCC module would need to generate the 9V line, and also split out the correct voltages to C1 / C2 for this to be viable. http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/electrics-dcc-control.htm You might also need additional outputs for the Aux module of the DCC. It would be a fun project, but lego purists would not be too keen...# And someone did it already http://chezfilou.pagesperso-orange.fr/montages-lego/Moteur9V_DCC/MoteurDCC.html
  10. If it is a real revolution then DCC control would be even nicer... but im not sure who owns the copyright on this, and whether there is sufficient market for it. But a DCC --> PF converter would be fun.
  11. I suspect you neeed a minimum of 10 posts....
  12. Perhaps they are releasing end of 'production run' stock?... or results from bad batches (where some wheels may be good)?... the new models dont need them...
  13. Most of the BNSF B Units were modified A units; but I think 4 actual purpose built B's were built. I have also been working on a B unit for my BNSF... (very very slowly) and have a load of pictures I had downloaded from various sources; although they mostly look the same. I will post some links later (tonight). The Wikipedia link for the GP30B has some good inspiration http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMD_GP60B
  14. Great video... but that sound track....
  15. After obtaining some 4561 carriages I decided that they should be sold to fund 10219... but then got carried away making MOC's on the split train bases... and actually have an attractive model slowly coming together. I can think of a way of putting a 2 axle bogey car together and driving gears into it from a PF-M motor... but does anyone know of a better way? Or should I bite the bullet and make one of the carriages a custom frame so that I can power it as I want? Thanks, and good night!
  16. These two models (LXF) files disappeared. Any ideas? [Edit] It seems BrickWild now has his own website for the LXF files; and they can be found on there. Just a pity the links were not updated.
  17. This is an excellent container and should be worthy of becoming a real TLG model. Perhaps they will release a fan-build Container Truck set... but compliments!
  18. He referred to the Kit Set - hence the additional K at the start, which included track from memory.
  19. Manor... over expensive... (really). And FCW... even worse offender. What was fun was seeing Winter Toy Shop and Winter Bakery (both 'exclusives') at Migros and Coop.... Hutter in Wetzikon often gets exlusives in for order; worth checking. As to release date: I did see 16th earlier today. Now confirm the 1st. I guess our market is too small. Unless we are buying 5x each... (whistle). And its back at the 1st for UK...
  20. Actually when compared to 2010 challenges; 90% of these models seem to be made by (disguised) AFOL's. The only one which seems to be done by a TFOL is 'Mini fire engine' By: balu_kabalu13. But I hope I am wrong. [Edit]. Correct spelling for the pernickity people.
  21. Actually it was not so much the idea of selling on BL... but rather getting some information about how well his models sell, what sort of margins, printing instructions, expectations from clients etc... I wonder how many people actually know of the custom models section on BL...
  22. The Pneumatics Extension packhas more bits, but is much more expensive. Also I noticed a 'MagLev extension pack'... I wonder what that is for?
  23. I would shoot an email to the people who sell custom train models via Bricklink (search for sets, custom). There is a Dutch guy (BlokBricks) who has great models which he sells with boxes, instructions etc. It would probably be worth asking his advice?... The Technic Custom section... Selling models via Ebay will generate more interest, but also risk more people distributing PDF's, or low prices. Beside if poachers see a custom MOC selling well, they will be interested in free-riding, in other countries. Locking the PDF to stop printing is one way... and offering a printed option would be nice. I bought printed Railbricks instructions via MagCloud.com - it took about 1 week to receive (direct to me)... and the print out quality was excellent. Almost TLG standard. With MagCloud (or Lulu.com) you can also set up a 'shop' where people can order the printed items directly to their address...
  24. I recently noticed purchased some 7938 sets to make a MOC... and sold off the unwanted carriages... but also took the opportunity to make some custom carriages. So... first up a 1st Class carriage. Not much different from the normal carriage just windows aligned better for the tables. Second: a restaurant car. OK I understand that the passenger train is not designed for intercity routes; but perhaps a inter-regional one... or it is a bar... I can think of the Swiss Glacier Express / Voralpen Express which includes such carriages.
  25. I did not see 7938 Passenger Train... so here it is. Models updated to LDD 4.2.5 by Sjuip, MANY THANKS!. Therefore post is split in two. LXF File Submodels Minifigs Structure / Platform Front Car Middle Car Rear Car Errors Different decoration on minifig torso for chef (airline vice trains) 9V motor instead of RC motor with Technic Wheels Custom Build Battery Box instead of 87513/87515 (Front/Rear Car) - Arches 6182 in Substructure won't fit in right position - known bug =============================== LXF File Known errors The front and rear windscreens do not sit flush with the bricks - boundary error Custom battery box has been used Custom white front modified plates (for the nose cone) have been used. No mini-figs yet... too tired tonight. As always the submodels also exist as LXF files for those who are interested Main Locomotive Passenger Car Rear Passenger Car Platform In the train forum I will post a couple of pictures of custom MOC's I did for this; a 1st class wagon and a restaurant car. Edit Corrected slight colour issues in the original LXF files. Nothing like a good cockpit slamming to get the window to shut better. Still not ideal... Edit-3: LDD Version 4 models; included minifigs and train tracks. Fixed a few components. LXF File Main Locomotive Passenger Car Rear Passenger Car Platform
