  1. I've had that order in for around 2 months and still waiting for Christo to send them out along with Black Flash and Poison Ivy not to mention the two CW Flash figures.
  2. It's a shame they chose those particular designs for Black Cat and Ms Marvel as Christo's designs are superior in every sense. If you're going to copy someones designs then you may as well copied the best. Looks like they've based Black Cat on the PPM version: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A1427-Lego-CUSTOM-PRINTED-BLACK-CAT-INSPIRED-MINIFIG-Spider-Man-Batman-spiderman-/361722749142 It wouldn't surprise me if the Ms Marvel figure was based on one of his too.
  3. I didn't, mate. I didn't buy any of them as I'm strictly pad and he produces so many new figures in batches that it wouldn't be economically feasible to keep up. I did pre-order the two Green Arrow figures though so hopefully they'll be finished within the next couple of months. I'm just waiting to see what the exclusive items are... I hope they're not just collectors cards. I really don't need anything like that and they'll just get stored away. From being limited to looking at the SDCC figure I think I'll have around 7 Green Arrow figures when they arrive including the SDCC clone, official figure, Christo, Game design clone (which has very nice printed arms), SH Customs Arrow and now these two. Add in the Arsenal SDCC, SH Customs Speedy and Black Canary that gives us quite a few from the Arrowverse. I'm still debating getting Cyclops Killstrike figure to go with the Christo Deathstroke figure from Series 1.
  4. This is absolutely beautiful. After I did the WB tour in Watford and walked round the Hogwarts model there I really wanted to have something Lego based that could get across the whole of the Hogwarts site. I don't have the time or space to create something system scale that could do justice to the sprawling mix of buildings and towers but you've managed to do it in a 22x22 stud base. I love it. And now I want to build one of my own! Fantastic!
  5. John's (OLS) Suicide Squad figures are really good film versions. I'm long of glad he digitally prints rather than pad prints or I'd be in trouble.
  6. You could probably sell the armour with a different head in and make some of that back.
  7. Are any of the minifigs in the modulars exclusive? Wouldn't it be relatively easy and inexpensive to just BL a group of the modular minifigs to populate the town?
  8. I've never had an issue buying from AliExpress. Sometimes shipping can take a while... but I've also had things arrive in around 8 days. It's more frustrating if the item isn't available yet but isn't listed as pre-order. I've not ordered a set though... so not sure how they arrive etc.
  9. If the universe is listening your comment has just tipped the balance. Red goggles it is.
  10. I think Namor is a copy of the OLS figure, Banner is a copy of Minifigures.com's figure. Starlord looks interesting. I'm sure the Marvel and GOTG fans out there will want to pick that one up. I'm just hoping that the next DLP wave is DC based... or at least something new.
  11. I'd like to try the Panzer and Tiger German tanks. Does anybody know what the torso print quality is like? Can you fit Lego legs onto them and update the head with Lego heads?
  12. That gown works fantastically well. Great... Another thing I need to source multiples of!
  13. Well one of the bootleg companies have got in there and filled that gap so Lego could do with covering that base too.
  14. I've seen several videos on YouTube with people doing home tests on various bootleg minifig parts and bricks, especially for traces of lead in the paint or the plastic and nothing has ever shown up. From what I've seen of bootleg bricks the quality isn't quite there to be a completely viable alternative to Lego's very high brick and build quality, even if you put aside the obvious copyright infringements. I still find it amusing that Sebiron is very vocal in his disdain for bootlegs after quite a while of buying and collecting them and still has SY bootleg figures in his collection photo. That Doctor Strange head is a unique giveaway. With regards to print on bootlegs some of them do have ink that will come away relatively easily... and some that don't. I've also brasso'd off Lego ink and it's immediately harder wearing but also has different levels of robustness. Some come away much easier than others. I think dr_spock makes a very good and valid point above. For all people's image of China and the issues that some toys have had in the past their consumers still want to be protected by the same standards that the rest of us hold dear. I'm sure the people that head up Blue Bell Ice Cream are thankful the US don't have the same strict laws regarding the tainting of food products that cause death. China's relaxed attitude towards copyright infringement is something different entirely.
  15. A really nice MOC and something that really gets across the ramshackle nature of Hagrid's Hut. I'm not of the opinion that this needs to be submitted to Lego Ideas though. It's a similar scale to the officially released set and the stonework is perfect for a MOC but adds complexity that a regular Lego set wouldn't. It's perfect as it is... and I agree with the comment above that looking at it from the front you'd have no idea it was open backed but the opened area has so much lovely detail including the wooden roof joists. It's just lovely to look at with so many nice details all over the build.
  16. That's pretty bad. I own three original SDCC figures and three pad printed customs. I also own a couple of bootlegs which have been updated with genuine parts where possible and they're very, very good which is why I won't be spending over the odds on them. I've recreated the cards for the first couple of years figures and had them digitally printed but they're just for me. If you don't mind me asking... Any chance of sending me the link to the seller?
  17. I started to disassemble my Red Five X-Wing to just display minifig scale ships. I agree that for UCS sets 10179 Falcon, 10212 Imperial Shuttle and 75060 Slave 1 are all pretty much there... No matter how much people say system scale Falcons are minifig scale they're not... Nowhere near. 9493 X-Wing was pretty close but it could do with a canopy update from the TFA sets, the Snowspeeders are petty close as they are.... Same with Speeder Bike, 9495 Y-Wing and 75050 B-Wing are close too. You could say the same for most system scale single pilot vessels such as the A-Wing, TIE Fighter etc
  18. The legs were on B&P and still might be...
  19. I think I might know the printer you mean but pictures and info would be great!
  20. I've printed a few waterslide decals for figures... some which I've actually sold. Waterslide decal is a very good way of doing things but is a little trickier. I've found that even £30 first cheap photo printers can give an excellent finish. Pick up a clear acrylic spray, they're usually shown as recommended items on Amazon when looking at Waterslide Decal paper as you'll need this to seal the ink before putting them in water. They can look excellent but obviously only really work on light coloured torsos.
  21. Hoth Bricks has a load of hi res images on their Flickr if people want to take a browse: https://www.flickr.c...otos/hothbricks
  22. They look like they've nailed that Saturn Girl. I'll be ordering a couple of those to ensure I get a good one.
  23. I think the hairpieces that are created can be considered a little differently to the Malibu Stacy hat sketch. The hairpieces are often reused as with Tarkin/Dr Who/Venkman and I'm assuming various others as time goes on. Finn's hair is now used on Falcon and may be used on future Lando figures... Superman's hair is on Poe Dameron and the German National Team etc... This is just a development of a hairpiece that fits very well for Han on his figures but may well be used for other themes in the future rather than just a single point of difference to sell a set.
  24. I'm probably going to get a Lepin Falcon but more in the hope that the radar dish and levers act are all good quality and I may start to replace some of the wedge plates etc with genuine Lego.
  25. I concur wholeheartedly... a very expensive year indeed. I can sometimes overlook certain sets but with an entire wave dedicated to Bats it's impossible. I'm half hoping that the SW theme doesn't have very much OT content next year.
