  1. Yeah... one of them has his original Death Star Trooper helmet which isn't that great to look at compared to the perfection that is the lego one but it's nice to get and the other item had a rebel trooper torso but it's printed red instead of sand blue. Shame it didn't have his original Rebel Trooper helmet but again, it's not great now that there's an official Lego version which was perfect. I'm still undecided whether to just have it as a red shirt Rebel or use it as a Nien Nunb custom.
  2. A couple of BL orders and a nice grab on eBay of some mislabelled old Christo Star Wars stuff
  3. Yeah... I did the card for him so he had to wait for my delivery of the cards to arrive before he could post mine back to me!
  4. I'm assuming that as people have seen the DS and not mentioned it C-3PO isn't chromed? It would go a long way to making this more attractive to some people but I think we'd have heard about it by now.
  5. Come again? Aren't we 39 years into a rather big spoiler for the film?
  6. If you're prepared to use Brasso to rub some of the print off then I'd say Chell's torso from the Dimensions pack... which is available on Bricks and Pieces gives you a rounded next with light flesh print. Just brasso off the other print on there and add white arms. That should give you exactly what you're after.
  7. Especially with Tatooine Luke, Obi Wan, C-3PO, R2-D2, Han and Chewie being in new sets in January/February along with Stormtroopers in battlepacks and the Final Duel figures being already on shelf. Tarkin may just use the Rebels hair and head but with grey uniform. Royal Guards don't need updating while Death Star Gunners and DS Troopers are pretty much perfect as they are with maybe some arm printing?
  8. Thankfully we're slightly further along than just speculation but at least we've had one person see it from here and another from a different site who have said it's identical.
  9. I think the shortage of time between retirement and release is the main issue here. My comment earlier about people buying up 10188 as an investment was a little tongue in cheek but also there to highlight that it would have been a very poor decision anyway. 10179 has become a ridiculous statement of investment and scalped prices and people have associated retired SW UCS sets with big money after retirement. 10188 was around for so long that anyone who wanted one could pick it up at any point. Even after news of its retirement started to surface it was still on shelves for quite a while. 10188 seems to be considered, by many, to be the best SW set ever... character count, play features, scale, build... Not as exciting as a short run UCS minifig scale Slave 1 but for overall package the flagship SW set. If it has been missing for a couple of years then arrived as an updated version then the negativity may be less... but maybe some of the main selling points of the new set, the updated figures, would appear in another set before 75159 was released reducing the appeal. Apart from the protocol droid on the DS most of the figures either appeared in other sets or had updated versions appear afterwards (I'm not sure how soon afterwards for some of them). If we were to get an updated ANH Leia or so before the DS then we're down to the protocol droids as the exclusive figures again. I'm not saying figures are the reason to buy a set... they should be part of it... but the build should be king shouldn't it? Especially on a set like this. In that sense the timing of the release is what's most off about it to me, rather than it being a slightly updated version. Factor in that quite a few of those figures seem to be pretty well updated already and the timing would again seem odd with all five figures from the Final Duel, which is still on shelves, featuring in this set. ...but then... as I'm typing this a realisation has dawned. While this may not be an RO set... It's basically the big bad from the RO movie and will be front and centre to Lego's target audience. That may help create the demand... Lego already had a pretty good design to supply. Just update figures to add an element of exclusivity for some of them and get it on shelves. I can see that decision being made from the marketing teams as Disney and Lego and the designer not having to do a great deal with regards to an 'update'. I can image not a lot of time was spent in R&D for this project except for maybe the figure designers. It's a quick win on a very reliable set. Not aimed at AFOLs or long time Lego buyers at all (except of the odd figure).
  10. That's Wildcat by Paris Custom Bricks. It's just been released.
  11. To all those people who picked up another 10188 or two once it was retiring to sell on for profit... How's that working out?
  12. Technically there'd be four but two of them would have Han and Luke heads. ;) As with others here I passed on the 10188 due to having updated versions of a lot of the figures anyway. I'd be interested to see just how 'updated' these ones are. I think we've already seen Han has a hair update which is nice and hopefully Leia will feature the design seen from the game. Tarkin getting a grey uniform update is a must... will we see dual moulded legs for the boots? I'm also interested in whether the Imperial Protocol Droid will be a rerelease of the one featured in the Yoda Chronicles set. I can see the Gunner having Imperial logo arm printing (didn't the TIE Fighter Pilot in the USC TIE have that?) There's quite a few other figures there that I can't see being any different from currently existing versions. I'll be picking this one up anyway and subsequently hypnotising my wife into not seeing it.
  13. The bigfigs seem to be coming in various SY Marvel and DC sets although they're all Marvel figures. There's Kingpin, Abomination, Blob, Kurse, Groot (chunky game design), Venom (with toe print). There may be Colossus too but I can't recall properly.
  14. I'm pretty sure Brickwild is wishlisting. Lego only uses 102XX designations for own license items such as modulars as well as the Simspons sets which don't really have a proper theme. All Superhero and SW large D2C sets now have regular numbering such as 76042 for the HC. Let's not start wild speculation on an X Mansion... At the moment there is nothing to support the idea that there'll be any such set. Ever.
  15. The printing in those Lex inmate figures wasn't very good and actually looked digital in some images. I wouldn't be too keen to re-evaluate that figure as a possible leak again.
  16. Diablo would work great with that head above long with: Torso: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973pb0731c01&idColor=63#T=C&C=63 Arms: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=981982&idColor=42#T=C&C=42 Legs: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=970c00pb195&name=Hips%20and%20Legs%20with%20Black%20Belt%20and%20Pockets%20with%20Double%20Yellow%20Stitching%20Jeans%20Pattern&category=%5BMinifig,%20Legs%20Assembly%5D#T=C
  17. Can't believe you missed Nien Nunb off your wish list for ROTJ and TFA! I agree with all of those figures but I'd also add Cloud Car Pilot to the ESB list. Thankfully I've modded a new Biggs and have customs of Lando and Luke Bespin to cover those. Leia in both Bespin outfits is a travesty as it stands. To make Bossk worth upgrading I'd hope for dual moulding on arms and legs. That would be a spectacular minifig.
  18. If they're going to give us Waller then it'll be in the High School set. I've got no problem with some figures being minidolls first as long as we get minifigures of them at some point further down the line. There's a very good chance, even with fig duplication, that at least one of Waller, Bumblebee, Cheetah, Oracle or Red Tornado will make an appearance in these before minifig form.
  19. I think they do. I ordered three of them and had bricks for parts of the Spider. I'm assuming they were KF as they were single sale.
  20. It's quite funny that people expect the set to have more minifigures when this is a case for just having three minifigures and the rest of the price going on the build. The Duel of the Fates happened over several good locations so it would be great to just have this focused on the build with the figures taking second place rather than the other way around.
  21. It's an interesting thing with Thrawn. EU Star Wars fans (and AFOL's) rate him highly and have wanted a Thrawn figure for such a long time but the general Lego buying public have no idea who he is so he may not be considered that much of a draw. I think that bodes well for his release in a cost effective set.
  22. Unfortunately I sold my DLP one around a month ago or you could have had that one. I actually think the SY set with Red Tornado is worth picking up anyway. The arms on Batman, Superman, Flash and Cyborg are worth it along. The full Aquaman is great too.
  23. Couple of print issues on Cap there but for 70p I'll probably order two or three of them in the hope of getting at least one good print.
  24. That's definitely a Decool one due to the shape of the hips. The cool is actually the closest to the SDCC one as it has the correct Bat Emblem printing (which is off centre) and the muscle definition colour is darker so it works on the red. Both DLP and SY have various errors on their print although the finish is probably slightly better. SY's legs are the better version. Decool head is also better as it has the double sided printing. Don't forget to pick up a genuine Lego purple cape as the SDCC didn't have the scalloped cut that the bootlegs had.
