Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
It's basically one of the original Batman line designs printed in red and black. It seems like there are some people working out of a factory in Mexico that put some pretty iffy figures out last year and circulated them... people jumped on them as early release figures but they weren't. They were on eBay for a while but once people realised they weren't pre-release figures they died a death. Thankfully. Some of them were even digital prints but people still thought they were Lego test figures. If Lego were to produce test figures digitally they wouldn't print hundreds, if not thousands of them then let them all disappear for sale on auction sites. It wouldn't surprise me if they weren't the same people that circulated the Lex in Metropolis Prison Suit earlier this year as well as the Rebirth Batman design that was truly terrible up close. -

I wouldn't bother. DLP did a very accurate Batman Beyond figure. That's the DLP next to my Christo version. The Xinh figure is actually a bootleg of a fake Batman release that was touted around last year, same as the Nurse Joker figure, hence the crap plastic cape design. The Red Son Supes is a pad printed custom. The only SY things there are the torso on the Black Suit Supes and the arms on the New 52 Supes on the right. That figure is by Phoenix Customs. Cyborg Superman is by P_O_S_T_Y and the Solar Suit is by Legomazing. -

Track down one of the later SY sets with the various Superman figures. This has the best moulding and print on the black suit Superman: Just add Zod legs with genuine head and hair and you're done. -
Perfect Superhero Figures Ideas

Have I missed something or are the parts listed not actually in production yet? Looking at the images we can clearly see what coloured parts would be needed but without anything in production at this point for most of the parts it would seem like a difficult thread to follow or add to with any real meaning.- 4 replies

As BrickCurve said... a reputable seller with good feedback should be a guarantee of a completed set. If you're looking at the cheapest UK seller on BL he has a very good feedback rating and even the 1 neutral he has gave feedback of 'Good'. I'd say you were pretty safe with him.

I can't comment with total accuracy on this as I don't buy bootleg sets themselves but Bela don't stand out to me as on of the better companies. That may be down to them not really competing with other companies in the minifig stakes so they may concentrate on sets. Someone in Australia did a comparison with a Bela set and posted it on Youtube: Hope this helps. -
I recently got back form a holiday in Kefalonia and there were a few of these on display in the souvenir shops in Argostoli. Some of them are by JLB which is one of the poorest bootleg companies in China. Really bad quality.

Are they not Lego skates with the telescope piece attached? -

You can see that the side leg printing on that Deadshot is digital. That'll ruin the figure for some people. -
I wouldn't say so as default to the other set being leaked but it may mean that there's something more concrete and leakable out there. I think it's been mentioned before that it's the bricks and mortar stores that haven't stocked the retailer exclusives in the US recently? You'll still be able to purchase from the online store though. I really hope this isn't rolled out to the UK.

Only problem with these is the dish is a decal and the images show it's not the best application of that decal. The rigging might be decent but factor in each of these parts and it's coming in at around $60 for three elements... If they did a whole set then it wouldn't be too much more for the other 4000 or so pieces... and the dish would be printed. -
Just browsing Amazon for various things and was looking at the figures that come with various books. Looks like the 2017 Lego Star Wars Annual comes with Ezra and Chopper. All for just £5.19. 2017 SW Annual I can't recall this being mentioned before but apologies if it has.

At the moment the Pogo torso and legs are the only ones that are pad printed. Xinh seems to have tried something different with the print on this range of figures and digitally printed the torso and legs... but they did it badly. Apparently Xinh are reprinting those figures correctly and if that happens then you may only need to pick the Xinh figure up rather than just using it for the head and helmet. Didn't Pogo only just release Kraven? The only thing I can see different here is the inclusion of the fur collar. Interesting that they've now done Stan Lee but they've used the Firestar Toys design rather than Christo's. I wonder whether Pogo have used the artwork I set up for SDCC Cap like Decool did with Arsenal? -

So what happens when someone clones 10179 Millennium Falcon and brings cloned extremely rare parts such as the light bley rigging pieces to the market as well as printed radar dishes? £140 for the cheapest dish on BL £370 for 3 of the Rigging pieces £150 for the cheapest sticker for the UCS Plaque. That's £660 (without shipping) for five parts that wouldn't have studs showing and four of which that don't have studs at all. Even if they sold a cloned 10179 for £100 it would be worth it just for those. I've never bought a bootleg set for a brick build before but I don't know if I could say no to that. -
Figures that don't contain non-Lego or third party parts or elements and also don't have any part of the original Lego piece modified.

While the Xinh Arkham Knight figure has the terrible digital print the arms were pad printed and are pin sharp. Idiots. -

Mine loves the female figs... I've got her things like Poison Ivy and Harley in the past. She loves Harley Quinn. God help me when my Christo New 52 Ivy arrives. -

Yeah... pretty much. She's aware of the figures but wouldn't be too keen for them to be on display... Why do you need that many Batman figures? Why don't you sell the Zebra one? I have a 7yr old with light fingers too. -
I agree.. I think Captain Cold's head with those blue squared glasses would look great. They were on B&P for a long time so should be very cheap to pick up anyway.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Robianco replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
To be honest I mocked up a Bats figure with the bare chest to fight Ras and I didn't think it translated well with lego. I think it needs boot printing with the dark blue on grey for it to work. I've always got the image of the cowl being dark blue for that sword battle. Maybe with the 60s Batman legs it might work along with the dark blue cowl from the Buccaneer Batman. -
[Model MOC] T-47 Airspeeder (Snowspeeder)
Robianco replied to LiLmeFromDaFuture's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is beautifully built speeder and the continued refining of it's shape and build has been great to see. Looking at Brickdoctor's older speeder I like the sloping of the wings little more as it alleviates the 'step' nature along the size although I'd need to see how to incorporate that into the rest of your excellent build. I've got the last lxf file you uploaded but once (if) you get round to uploading the new one I think I'm going to try and build this.- 161 replies

Not only are the figures superb... and the customs are very well put together to create some of the non-released figures but the photography and the creation of the visual effects is among the best Lego photography I've seen. I think I may have to put together that Mundungus figure myself! -

Yeah... I think my wife would kill me if I went down that route... ;) -
I saw this over on Flickr and it didn't look like Lego at al... the SNOT work is incredible. The thing that stands out for me is how the circular tubed cockpit works within the mandible shape. It's another fantastic build.
