  1. Yeah... I just replaced any of those with official legs... The Christo Carnage had plain red legs anyway! Don't be surprised if that other set isn't in another package! If for some reason you've been sent the wrong one just inform them and I'm sure you'll get replacements... Either that or eBay will cover you!
  2. So you've seen the actual product in-store? That was quick!
  3. DeCool legs have the blade hips but regular legs... Older Sheng Yuan figures have the narrow toes and the open backs to the legs. I'm thinking a slight colour variation on the Bucky Cap skin tone is easily made up for by the fact that it's £1 as opposed to £400. It'll look nice next to my NYTF Iron Man that SY did last year! The head on the DeCool Shazam was pretty god on the one I got so used it on my pad printed custom... Now he looks perfect! Did you really not receive 2 of the figures? I've never had that happen before!
  4. When I had to make a particular big order I found that this store had pretty much everything I needed: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=helge Not always the cheapest but actually not that far off... and considering I got everything I needed in one place it was cheaper postage wise that heading out to five or six different stores
  5. Everything about that trailer looks promising. That new cowl looks great too. Here's hoping the space suit variation gets released along with everything else!
  6. Yeah... the cards are for sale... I have around 30 or so of each card left. I produced the 2011 cards for GL and Batman and I also did the 2012 card for Shazam and Bizarro... I didn't have a Phoenix or Black Suit Spidey so I didn't get the other card printed. I think I'll get some done now as my NACM pad printed black Spidey head has now arrived! I've also been sent some samples of blister packs that allow custom copies of the 2013 figures now that I have Green Arrow, Black Suit Superman, and (soon) ASM Spiderman. I did actually have the cards for sale on eBay but they got pulled as they have the Lego logo on them and I think the listings were reported by someone selling the actual SDCC figs. I have a couple of the customs from that seller... I originally spoke to them about having the head and torso from each of their two Spider Woman figures swapped over to make a more accurate figure... the ink on that print and how it sits on the body is a little too much for me though. I think I'll wait for SY or DeCool to bring Spider Woman out... I think they'll probably do the SDCC Batman too at some point! PM me about the cards and we can arrange something
  7. The lighting on these shots are what really make the image for me. The builds are great and there's so much to be found in the MOC without feeling like anything has been overdone. Excellent work... Looking forward to seeing them land on Yavin!
  8. I think the lack of Droid Army is made up for in the other figures. 13 or so figures in a set is nothing to sniff at... even if 8 of them are droids. It's a set that's never interested me anyway but even from the prelims etc on the current wave opinions have changed now the actual sets are here... some for the good and some for the worse. I think it's a set that we'd need to see in the flesh to judge properly. Looking at the previous version online and it actually doesn't look too much smaller although the single rack of droids rather than the double rack does look deceptive scale-wise. It also looks a little blockier at first glance.
  9. For those that are unreleased by Lego then I'm interested. That's not to say I'll necessarily go down the bootleg route as I have a LOT of customs but when faced with £40 for a single figure or £1 for a figure then I'll take a close look at what the quality is like before making a decision. The new Christo Joker clone doesn't look nearly as good as the original Christo but the difference is $70 to $1.50. Ideally I'd always have the Christo but budgets don't always allow that. Same as the SDCC figures. I've recreated the backing cards and had them professionally printed. My customs cost me £4 or £5 each rather than £150-£250 each and look almost identical. With the new Phoenix and ASM Spidey there's only Spider Woman I don't have.
  10. I'm just waiting for mine in the post. Set of 6 figures for just over £4. Can't argue with that really.
  11. Lovely build! I've always loved Hoth based MOCs... somehow official Lego sets have never captured Hoth particularly well... fortunately there are excellent MOCers doing the job instead!
  12. It's not even the worst typo on the cover! ;)
  13. I'm assuming you know of these? I think Digger318 is at least trying to give you credit for your work and original idea... unlike the bootleg company.
  14. I didn't think the shipping was too bad last time I ordered from there. Have they changed at all?
  15. I'd also give decals a go. Printing a water slide decal then sealing it with a clear acrylic spray to fix in position can give great results too... Especially if your painting skills are a little rusty.
  16. From what I've seen there are at least 4 brands of clones: DeCool, Sheng Yuan, Lele and IQ Blocks. Sheng Yuan for me are the best clones available now... moulds and print are now very good and they now have full Lego clone leg and hip moulds. Plastics are very good and the colours are usually a close match to official TLG colours. You need to put an official Lego figure next to them to sport some of the differences. DeCool have excellent figure choice and are, rightly or wrongly, cloning other customisers work to give us close to pad print quality.. unfortunately when the print isn't quite bang on it can be VERY off. Moulds also can suffer from a lack of QC but colours are usually close to TLG's and the plastics used are also pretty good. Hips and shoulders are the obvious difference to TLG but the legs do fit official Lego hips (helps with replacing The Thing's hips and keeping the '4' printed on the leg). Lele are a poorer relation and are lacking somewhat in the design department. Print can be very heavy handed and sometimes very inaccurate. They do clone Lego joints though and the shoulder moulds are closer to TLG. Plastic is a little inferior to the previous companies in my experience as I've actually worn away plastic simple by rubbing with my nail. They did produce a VERY nice Scarlet Spider though which none of the other companies have. If there's one figure you should get from Lele then that's it. The recent Captain America set is a perfect example of how they fall short when comparing it to the SY set. IQ Bricks have released some terrible sets. They're the people responsible for the multi Thor pack, Wolverine pack and Black Widow pack... all of which had some of the worst design and print I've seen on these clones. Joints can be very loose and things such as hair pieces can be very ill-fitting. That said some of their more recent releases have shown a slight increase in quality such as the Avengers Alliance set with figures such as Black Widow, Riddler, Harley Quinn... but only slightly... some really odd print decisions like having the same face printed both sides of a head when there'll be no hair piece to cover the back one etc... The newer stuff is still slightly behind Lele from what I've seen. Plastic colour is a little iffy and quality is slightly less than DC and SY. Also prone to moulding issues and lack of QC.
  17. I think it's just down to how sharp they are compared to Lego shoulder curves. The Sheng Yuan bootlegs are curved the same as Lego but the DeCool ones are much sharper... maybe not to a point... but not far off! DeCool then also have the blades on the outside of the hips rather than the 2 studs to fix to the box whereas Sheng Yuan now also copy the Lego hip studs too. All in all DeCool's choice of figures is really promising and they're delivering the SDCC figures to us for next to nothing but the quality of SY has surpassed them.
  18. I read in one of the EU novels about Han being bored while Leia was off on a diplomatic visit so he jumped in the Falcon and took off. The Falcon had been completely renovated and was in perfect condition with reliable hyper drive !
  19. By all means visit Hamleys but don't buy any Lego there. It's massively overpriced. Way over RRP for no reason other than it's in Hamleys.
  20. These remind me a little of the mini ships that you could buy for the Kenner figures back in the day. Lots of nostalgia and fun in these!
  21. That gateway is superb... and the Deadpool torso and legs on the Imperial Guard is inspired and really takes the figure very close to that Hasbro model. The Red Interceptors look great... I almost want to see what they'd look like with dark red instead of the bright red but that's just out of interest as opposed to any kind of criticism on the models. The gateway and wall is the star of the show though!
  22. I know the older version is bigger but to me it looks a little more like a playlet rather than an accurate ISD because of the oversized bridge. I think the figures look odd in that older bridge as the scaling looks completely off. So as much as the newer version is smaller I actually prefer the proportions of everything as a whole set. Just my twopenneth though... :)
  23. I'm not one to jump on the wagon after seeing something on a poster or in the background on an animation but that 4-Lom looked great. If that is any kind of indication that we may get him and Zuckuss to complete the bounty hunters from TESB then I'm more than delighted. Maybe the Slave One rumour might be true after all. If so then it looks like it'll be Boba's rather than Jango's. That was just the regular Dengar and Bossk that appeared too wasn't it?
  24. Christo's latest Batman custom has real eyes. Looks good!
