I really don't know how you've managed to outdo each of the previous builds. They've all been superb... but to then make a UCS scale steampunk Falcon? Seriously? I don't know where to start... Externally it's beautiful.. and so much to take in... The thing I really like is I can almost hear the chains tighten and clank as the ship moves... but then you have to go and do the interior like that... that whole engine and propulsion area(!!!). And the minifig selection... such a nicely done motley crew of heroes and scoundrels. Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear wrote a book about how some vehicles (and other pieces of machinery) have soul... and he included the Millennium Falcon in that. Well this Lego build has it too... and that's pretty good for a collection of plastic bricks! :)

I wouldn't let it stress you out. The only thing you can be is honest. People will pay what they think it's worth. How would someone be able to tell if the seats have been replaced? If it's easy to do and cover up then who can tell... if it's something that's difficult to conceal then inspect it and trust your judgement. If it's a lot of money and people are serious then they'll want pictures... detailed ones to check. After that it's up to the buyer. eBay will probably be back online soon enough and you can answer people from there. You listed the item in good faith and to the best of your knowledge it's genuine.

The Comic Con exclusive figures are in resealable plastic covers as far as I know... there's no seal to break so you can take the figure out and display it. As long as you keep the packaging safe you can pop it back in when you feel like it. The Comic Con figures are actually the thing that stand out as far as bootlegs (which are difference from clone brands for me). If I have a Lego budget... or at least not be silly with money... I prefer to get some Lego sets and put my money back into Lego... so buying a bootleg SDCC figure such as Green Arrow for £1 (which is actually pretty impressive even compared to a real one) means I have £200 or so I can give to Lego rather than a scalper while still having a 95% replica of the figure to display. The NYTF figures are roughly £800 the pair... or you can get bootlegs that look almost identical for £2.50 the pair... and are very good quality, especially the Bucky Barnes Cap A. These are more the things that make sense to me... yes it would be nice to have the actual Lego thing... but to get it Lego isn't benefitting... a scalper is. And let's face it... the only people selling are scalpers.. the collectors are keeping them. As far as actual sets... be they vehicle or diorama... I'd say it still makes sense to get Lego as my experience is that clone and bootleg brands aren't at the quality of Lego yet... so the brick as well as the build is inferior. So that's where I'm more than happy to ensure that Lego gets my £s rather than anyone else.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
Custom can be expensive... Especially for good pad printed stuff. Bootlegs are another option... I'd actually say that some SY stuff isn't actually too far from Lego quality especially on their recent SuperHeroes sets... Ignoring the iffy legs on earlier stuff. I like sets as well as figs... I'm not just a minifig collector... That said my minifig collection would be so empty without customs or the bootlegs I've kept. -
That's pretty much my thought on this. I think there's a Cloud Car set and some kind of Bespin based set in the offing... It just seems to fit with the theme and scene based sets over the last couple of waves.

He looks fantastic! My Jawa also has that Ionizer gun! ;)

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

They look pretty bad. Lele quality at best. Oddly enough the Martian Manhunter actually looks the best figure. I still can't tell if that Luke Cage is on Bright Light Orange or Yellow though. Looks a little more like BLO. Everything else looks generally pretty iffy. -
Maybe edit or delete the quote then too?
-
*Edited as apparently it may cause offence* Pretty much like some of these chat up lines then really...
-
The minifig line up actually isn't too bad. IG-88 and Dengar are still in the SSD, Bossk was in the last Slave 1 and as he's not the 'hero' of this I didn't think they'd bother with arm printing on him... he's pretty good as he is. It's just Zuckuss and 4-Lom we're missing... Maybe the black Bespin Guard would have been nice or another stormtrooper to escort the Carbonite Han out... but it's more about the ship rather than the fig line-up. I noticed that the torso on Fett has been updated a little from the Skiff set as has the leg print. Helmet looks the same though. I've got the Arealight backpack which should make this figure perfect.
-
Agreed... this would be a VERY nice intro to the possibility of something else from Bespin... They do seem to like groups of sets from the same location and scene.

Video not working on here but Youtube is fine. I absolutely love it... the curved windscreen looks fantastic on it... that overall shape on the top looks amazing. The bottom skirt curves were always going to be an almost impossible task but I think they've done a really good job on that. Fett figure has really gone for it on detail which may turn some people off but I think it's about as good a Fett figure as were going to get. Bespin Guard looks really good too. Shame it's going to cost a bit on BL to get another one to change the skin colour for a second guard. Stormtroopers are always nice to get... Is Carbonite Han the same as the one we already have? If I'm going to be ultra picky I'd say the only disappointment would be the lack of 4-Lom or Zuckuss... I really thought after that animated short that they'd pop up on here.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

Another thing that might be interesting is the Luke Cage figure. Christo printed his Luke Cage on a standard Yellow torso whereas Lego printed theirs on the Light Bright Orange to differentiate from standard yellow 'skin' colour of Lego. I'd like to see whether the bootleggers have printed on yellow as quite a few people preferred that on the Christo figure. I picked up the Bozhi Wolverine as an alternative to my genuine Wolverine for the same reason. -

I recently got a pad printed Dark Phoenix and it's fantastic... Are these a new manufacturer? If they're Lele or JLB based quality then I can pass... if they somehow come in at SY quality then who knows... At least there'll be things to compare them to... both genuine and bootleg. If Flash gets full boot printing and Punisher has the white boots then they will be worth picking up. Even with the influx of GL figures I'm still hopeful of another options for a really good SDCC copy. When are these people going to put out the SDCC Batman figures?!?! -
Just2good... You have just dangled the largest, bacon and cheese topped burger of a carrot with a crisp German lager to accompany it. But your reliability is unquestionable. I salute you and await the reveal!

I think a Cloud City set is almost inevitable... Maybe not in the next wave but I don't think it will be far off... Dagobah and Bespin are the stand out omissions from OT scenes yet to be updated.

I've just used some vinyl dye to spray up the shoulder areas of a couple of Young Justice figs along with boots for my Fantastic Four sets. Very happy with the result! :) -
I don't see any Lego line being in danger from bootleg figures. Lego fans will buy Lego and use bootlegs to fill gaps while non Lego fans wouldn't have bought Lego SH sets but may pick up the odd figure for $1 or so each. The East has been prevalent in the production of counterfeit goods for years and are normally aimed at people who can't afford the real thing.... These are no different except the internet means it's not just on market stalls in Hong Kong or Kuala Lumpur anymore but available the world over. If Sheng Yuan get their act together and make SW figures to the same quality as their SH ones and even make ranges of figs not produced by Lego then I'm sure many people will sit up and take notice. That's not beyond the realms of possibility taking into account their rate of production.

Also available from any Lego store for the last 2 weeks (as long as you've got a VIP card... Which you can get for nothing at the till anyway)

Newt Scamander is the author of 'Magical Beasts...' Rowling is writing the screenplays and they're set long before Harry was even conceived so no crossover with existing characters (probably). I've picked up all the 2010 sets except Diagon Alley in the last couple of years and have been able to do so around the original RRP. I'd love them to revisit some sets with characters such as Sirius, Mad Eye and Umbridge. If the series was still going imagine how good an 'Order' set would be with Sirius, Shacklebolt and Tonks?

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
I think the issue lies with people either not being well enough informed (I'm still surprised by how many people don't know these exist or people who think they're somehow genuine Lego) or those that have no interest in the figures that aren't produced by Lego so see no reason for these to exist. I've always been of the opinion that if Lego produced these figures I wouldn't need to go near them myself... But they don't. I've also bought some bootlegs and systematically replaced them with pad printed customs due to far superior quality (Spiderman figures spring to mind). I still don't think that these things are damaging Lego's market position, or profits, too much. For minifigure collectors they fill a gap but they'll still pick up genuine Lego... And anyone who just wants a $1 figure wouldn't spend on Lego SH sets anyway. I bet if Sheng Yuan put out a really good quality set of SDCC figures for the usual £6 there'd be a few people who would quietly be very interested... And lots of eBay scalpers who'd be more than a little upset. -
I don't think there'll be a decline in OT sets. I think the sets we've had in the last few waves have been great and this is just one wave that's a bit OT light. The SuperHeroes wave for January looks like it'll clean me out anyway. I'm sure the OT will be just as prominent along with Rebels and the ST when it arrives.

There were doubts previously then he proved he was right. He's not just giving info on SW sets but across multiple licenses... Have you seen the amount of questions he's had to answer in the last week? He hasn't hidden from one of them and repeatedly answered them patiently.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
Yeah... I ordered it earlier today... Even Taskmaster's shield, Bullseye's card and the various guns are worth the price. I've got all the figs already as originals or pad printed so I'll probably sell the figures on and keep little bits. -

My Young Justice set just arrived and they look great. I'm actually really impressed again by the quality that SY have got in these. Blue Nightwing's face print is a little hazily done but Aqualad and Artemis are particular standouts. Kid Flash is also really well done although I'd say his face printing is just a tad too heavy... not by much though. Looking at the original Eclipse versions I have to say that apart form the lack of arm printing they're all pretty much bang on. I think Kid Flash has a logo on his arm which would be the trickiest thing to replica but the sleeves etc that the others have seem easy to go and I'm planning on getting some black vinyl dye to work up some boots so I'll have a go at the sleeves. I don't collect machine printed stuff otherwise I'd probably have bought the original Eclipse versions of these a little while ago but the quality on these is really good and all for around £5. Which wave is that? The Punisher etc one or the Iron Man set?
