  1. Probably 10228 Haunted House. I'd liked the look of the set for a while but I don't normally pick things up outside of the themes I like... once I got the chance to get a sale price on it i grabbed it and loved everything about the set. Even the wife, who hates Lego, thinks it's a great set.
  2. It was available for a short time in one store but as everyone in the US got them UK sellers started to sell them for less than £10: For example
  3. Yeah... Once the Rocket polybags were everywhere you could pick them up on eBay for less than £10. It's maybe not th same as walking into a TRU over here and buying one for £4 but it's not that bad considering.
  4. Make Scrappy the SDCC exclusive and never let him darken the door of a retail set.
  5. Erm... Wouldn't the TIE Interceptor, TIE Bomber, Obi Wan Straighter, Twin Pod Cloud Car, Bounty Hunter Pursuit and Jango's Slave One also have been a rehash of an old set as they've all been released before?
  6. I actually managed to pick up the parts to build Dengar, IG-88 and Admiral Piett from the SSD for around £10 each... I then sold a couple of spares I'd ordered the parts for to pay for mine. I think we're only looking at 2 torsos, 1 hair piece and one set of legs that are unique to the set so we might be lucky... Might take a bit of patience on BL but I live in hope!
  7. I fear for the moment that Kevkipo gets to see close ups of Quicksilver. The board doesn't have sound thankfully! ;)
  8. It's completely off topic and I don't think pulling a 'America and most of Europe are free' is particularly helpful. I think the mods across the whole board have been far more lenient than in recent years but if one feels the need to bring things back in line then they're not doing it just because they feel like it. It shouldn't take people complaining to flag if people are posting irrelevant rubbish and being left to its own devices these threads have been known to go to pot with a complete lack of self policing from members. I'd take the comment as a cue to be more mindful of what we're all posting rather than to post a condescending reply.
  9. A giveaway with the above example is the crop marks and colour boxes which tells me that was an artwork ready PDF which may have been used for print of the physical book but was then uploaded for use digitally. Jodawill is completely correct with his descriptions of vector graphics and how Acrobat (or other pdf software) handles it natively... Sometimes extremely complicated vector files can also give large document sizes but I'm sure the original vector files in these documents are very cleanly drawn with as few points as possible which keeps the file size down.
  10. To be fair that might be a pretty good Agent Venom torso.
  11. Yeah... fingers crossed. I think the stores that Digger buys from are serviced by the same wholesalers as they normally appear in his feed at the same time they get shipped from AE so fingers crossed. Although looking at them I on;y really want the Batman for his torso to make a custom Bats figure.
  12. It may not be much but I've got four Lone Ranger torsos for trade each with yellow hands along with an Indian torso from the LR range (but this is just the torso with no arms). Let me know if it's something you're interested in.
  13. A cape is just made with a cutting form. The fabric is run in sheets and the cutting form drops to cut each shape (if it's a metal, bladed cutter) or simply runs it's task (if it's a laser cutter). If a small operation running customs on eBay can make good capes then it's ridiculous to say that Lego can't. Lego simply choose to run with the cape design as they see it as their current solution to capes and cloaks... not because they can't. eBay sellers don't shift things in large enough quantities to make a custom cutter if it was that expensive so why think the largest toy manufacturer in the world would struggle?
  14. Even without articulation this figure looks superb.
  15. Well I've just had confirmation that the second of my 2 orders has been shipped which contains a lot of mini figure parts from the new SH and SW lines. It seems the loophole is there for those that want it.
  16. There was a couple of castle sets at John Lewis in Liverpool this evening... Not sure if just remaining stock but they also had a box each of Simpsons, Series 12 and Series 13 CMFs.
  17. That's the mod I'd be looking to do too!
  18. I'm not sending you a bloody Batmobile!! Just the bandana!! If you're happy to go for another Helga order at some point that's fine. Looking at the pics of that Tumbler it looks quite good... I'd have to lose the floor ck missile and mod the interior but it looks decent.
  19. Well the one I ordered wasn't for me! I remembered someone wanted one so I thought I'd add it. I'll send it on when it arrives. With having the official versions of those figures I was always a bit dubious about ordering the set so unless the brick quality is suddenly up to Lego standards then I'll probably just try and BL the parts at some point.
  20. So come on then... what's it like. I'm interested in the brick quality and their clutch power. By the way... I made another order from Helge and included a Dengar Bandana headpiece... was it you that wanted one?
  21. The custom style Batman capes that have three neck holes that act to wrap around the figure a little more might work better also. That just needs a new cutting form. I asked a custom cape seller if they'd cut some of the judges robes in other colours and they said they'd be happy to oblige. Might give them a go in brown etc and see how they look.
  22. I think that's what we have to hope for. The 10k votes acts as a kind of marker in the sand that there's a demand for a set like this... Whatever scale TLG decide to do it. The lack of an Alfred figure gives me hope we'll get to see the Manor or something similar in the future.
  23. Well if it works out that'll be both of us feeling lucky!
  24. I think information at store level is hit and miss as there's not a clear line of communication to each manager/assistant as to what's coming out in the future... and whether they'd actually share that info directly if they knew. I've had staff give hints towards Lego SW sets as well as other things over the last couple of years and also had people have genuinely no idea about upcoming sets that have been leaked and shared all over the Lego fan community.
  25. Wall-E is an excellent build and an incredibly close likeness although it might not appeal to Super Heroes fans or comic book readers. Doctor Who could be a fantastic theme and is one of the longest running TV shows in the world with a huge worldwide audience and fanbase. Wayne Manor, and the X-Mansion for that matter, were NEVER going to be selected for release on Ideas. They're both huge builds and as such had the lure of a minifig collectors wet dream... hence the speed at which they hit 10k votes. Superbly executed builds I'd like to add... but not builds that will lead to a release... at least not in their 'Ideas' state. It's quite funny that they still mention that the Helicarrier is up for Review at the next stage... I think the bookies have stopped taking bets on whether it'll pass though...
