  1. Started to build some of the details yesterday while watching the first match in the world cup. Now I need to take the deck off again to add more 1x1 bricks with 1 knob.
  2. More LDD-work. Have ordered all the parts I need now, so just waiting for them to arrive so I can build the rest of the ship! The templates for the sails are cut out and ready for the sailmaker.
  3. It looks really good. Nice to see all the details unfold! It's great fun to follow your project during development.
  4. This looks really good. Looks much better your way, than Lego's version with only Big Ben! :)
  5. Have been working a bit in LDD, still somethings to do, but here is a picture of the progress so far!
  6. Thank you. If you have some time during your visit my model of Fredrikstad House of Literature is on exhibition inside the house itself. Should be easy enough to spot. If you're in Fredrikstad during Tall Ships Races in middle of July, Christian Radich should be on exhibition at Fredrikstad Library.
  7. I understand why they opened it to make sure, but I feel they should have mentioned it on they're product page. It's not everyone who has the same level of knowledge as us AFOLs on why they need to open them to sure it's the right minifig.
  8. This is very cool! I would love to have a system like this in a layout at home.
  9. Absolutely fantastic moc. Love all the angles and the greebles. Kinda looks like it's about to fall over, just spectacular!
  10. Very sad... Iconic ship due to the movies!
  11. Hi, it was not me but L@go who made Bryggen. Here are some of the mocs I've posted here at Eurobricks: WIP - Christian Radich WIP - Turntable and shed Hobbit Mosaic NSB Di7 with carriages House of Literature in Fredrikstad Fredrikstad train station
  12. I have continued with the front deck and the rooms under the top deck. Missing some parts here and there, soon to be ordered from Bricklink. I'm now working on a lot of details in LDD for the deck. Will post an update when I'm finished with all the digital work.
  13. I see I haven't introduced myself yet, even though I've been here at Eurobricks a few years already. I live in south-east Norway, part of the norwegian LUG Brikkelauget. I've attended a few events in Norway, but so far no events outside Norway. Hopefully that will change soon! I mostly build mocs in the train and town-category. Sometimes I go a bit outside my comfort zone to try something else. Like Architecturel, or as I'm building now, a sailing ship. I have a Flickr-account where I post my Lego-pictures (in addition to posts/topics here on Eurobricks).
  14. Very nice moc! Love the colors in this one. And great use of parts to show all the details!
  15. Hull is now fully mounted! From the back: From the side: From front:
  16. Done with the middle sections. Attaching them to the rest of the hull will be a challenge, but the first part is now attached nicely.
  17. Well, pictures like this makes me want to start all over again with my own ship-moc! :)
  18. Fortunately, cheese slopes in these colors are cheap. But very time consuming to put together! Total amount of cheese-slopes for hull: White: 1400 Red: 960 Blue: 460 Total: 2820
  19. Really interesting to see how you build your ship. That's a LOT of parts. The renders look very nice, look forward to see the rest of the building progress!
  20. I can relate to this, but I also try to do important things before I sit down to build. And for me it's important to set a time to when I should go to bed, so I'm well rested in the morning. Moc-building is so much fun, the time just goes to fast.
  21. Thank you for your nice comment. I have continued to work on the central part of the hull, I'm about halfway with it. I've also made templates for the sail now.
  22. This summer the Tall Ships Races (races for sail training sailing ships) comes to my hometown Fredrikstad in Norway. One of the participating ships is Christian Radich, a norwegian ship with Oslo as it's homeport. I have used the winter to digitally build this ship in 1:60 scale, and I'm now in the final stages of completing it in real bricks. Hopefully I will be done before the ship arrives in Fredrikstad 12th of July. The model will then be displayed in one of the exhibition halls close to where Christian Radich is located during the event. Here is a photo of the real ship, and below it is pictures from the building progress. I will continue to update this topic as I'm building.
  23. Hello everybody. In one week I will set up a little train layout at my local cinema as an eye-catcher on the premiere for the new Lego movie. The cinema has a 3,6m x 3,6m square they wanted me to use. I have a lot of track and points, 8 straight brickbuilt roads (32x32 modules) and all the lego modular houses. I also have a lot of different trains (PF). Anyone with a suggestion on how I could set this up? My first idea has been to build a double track at the outer edge all around, and place the road and the buildings next to the tracks on one of the four sides, but then I have a big space left that I need to fill with tracks. How can I best fill this space with train tracks. Any ideas?
  24. I really like your modification with PF-engine in the tender. I've been thinking about doing this myself instead of the standard XL-motor setup. I've also want to place th PF-reciever in the tender as well to get a smoother surface on the boiler. Do you have a video of it running? Would be great to see how it runs with this setup.
  25. Thanks for your nice comments! BEAVeR: I see your point on that big slope-plate/brick, but I just didn't find a better solution that looked as clean as this. I have to agree on that building you refer to. It looks very similar! I'm sure the architects here in Norway are aware of it. :) Herky: The name plate is engraved by a fellow LUG-member (and Lego Certified Professional), Matija Pužar.
