Thank you for all your kind words. The small version has been accepted in to Lego Ideas. All support is greatly appreciated! Link: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/124592

Sure! Here is the LDD-file for the small one: http://www.henriklor...b-8-midsize.lxf (note: The round orange 6x6 pieces is done by using 2x "Plate, Round Half 3 x 6 Cutout". This part was not available in LDD since it is so new, so I had to use a replacement that don't exist in orange). Here is the LDD-file for the big one: http://www.henriklor...-8-fullsize.lxf I should note that the LDD-file for the big one not is complete: - The skeleton holding the thing together has been replaced by another mechanism. I made this after the skeleton in LDD failed to hold the thing stable. I'll update the LDD with the new skeleton when I got the time. (not before christmas) - I have done some final modifications to the front of the head after i built it in LDD. And BTW, here is a video showing the big one: https://www.youtube....h?v=pSdpf3gfWuA And a video showing the building of the small one (done by a friend of mine): https://www.youtube....h?v=UbWX8W5Pyys

Thanks for new comments, didn't see them before now. Instructions for small version can be found here: http://www.henriklorentzen.no/lego/bb8.pdf

Really nice model. Great way to attach the head!

Didn't see the new comments before now. Thanks to all. A parts list and building instructions can be provided (LDD) if someone wants that. It's a bit bigger than the Yoda-sculpture. Here is an comparison: The manager at the cinema where the model is exhibited wanted a Lego BB-8 in his office, so I made him a smaller one. Here it is: Actually this model uses the exact same building technique.

Thanks, if it starts rolling I think it will end with a pretty big pile of bricks!

Thank you everybody! Really nice to read all your kind comments. The model is now placed in a showcase at my local cinema where it will stay until the Star Wars premiere. I mentioned a 50.000 piece Lego Star Wars mosaic in the first post, but this isn't finished yet. Here is a WIP-image:
-
Thanks for all your nice comments! DanSto: The diameter is 40,8 cm. The original is about 50 cm, so it is a bit smaller.

When I first saw BB-8 in the first teaser (or image?) I just new I had to make a model of it. And I also knew that the first weekend in November is the annual "Cinema Day" at my local cinema. This year we are going to build a 50.000 piece Lego-mosaic from Star Wars during the event so why not make a model of BB-8 that I could bring as well? Well, here it is. 11.000 bricks, 40,8 cm in diameter. 8,4 kg. Finished tonight, and packed and ready for the event tomorrow. More pictures here: https://www.flickr.c...157660129079607

LDD problem in OSX El Capitan

Yup, same thing here... -
Anyone has any good ideas for how you can have a long distance between wheels? Without a bogie. I'm trying to get this to run smoothly through curves but haven't been successfull yet... I've tried just using a 2x2 turntable. That didn't go to well, then I tried a 2x2 turntable with a rubber band to get it back to it's initial position, but that didn't work well either. Got to rigid and didn't turn well at all. So I'm kind of lost. Any help would be great!

That is really nice! I absolutely love the use of the technic-belt!

MOC: The House of Literature - Fredrikstad
HenrikLego replied to HenrikLego's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for your nice comments! notaromantic: Funny you should mention those to ideas for improvement, because that is something I have been thinking myself as well. After the building was complete they started on the park right next to it. This park is now complete, and I would very much like to include it in my model. Here is a picture of the park. I have also started to work on some ideas to add some of the sea/river: There has also been done work on the building right next to the House of Literature, a wooden-building with restaurants (Storgata 13). The same architect. I have started to make a model of this now: When this is finished I will start with the new building on the other side of the House of Literature (next to the park), the S5 (Storgata 5). Again the same architect and the last building to complete the renovation of this part of the riverside in Fredrikstad. -
Thank you very much for your kind words. I took some images of the finished model yesterday and post these to wrap this up.

That has to feel great!

I have had a few lucky finds lately. About a month ago I found 7725 Electric Passenger Train for about $60. A few missing parts, but with replacement parts it will be complete at about $80 total. Yesterday I found 7740 Inter-City Passenger Train for about $130. Only missing the box.

Model finished! Possible to edit topic title? Couldn't find a way. Better images of the finished model will be uploaded later.

New module. Only four modules left to build now.

Thank you. About 640 parts in that module. I built a smaller module yesterday. About 200 parts:

Started building this weekend, still some parts not sent from Billund but I hope I'll have all the parts by the end of this week:

About two years since I finished House of Literature in Fredrikstad. My next Architecture-style building is Wilberg Atrium, also from Fredrikstad and by the same architect. 5121 pieces. Almost finished now, just some minor adjustments before I start to order parts. The real building:

The last weeks I've been working on some improvements on this model. I've removed Technic Axles and Rigid hoses and replaced them with steel wire. A little less Lego but I don't need to use glue anymore. I worked some more with the rigging and done some modifications so it will be easier to transport the model to exhibitions. This weekend we have our annual LUG-exhibition here in Norway and now I only need to do something with the anchors, attach two more sails and attach a Norwegian flag.
