  1. Since my sigfig(s) is(are) "me" it is usually some variant of my name if I use one at all. Normally I just think of it (them) as "me".
  2. Now we will see who follows though on the all the threats made by disgruntled fans ie. "I'm never gonna watch these over-paid crybabies again!" or "Not a penny more to those scumbag owners."? I have suggested to some of my friends that people make their displeasure know by refusing to buy any team-branded merchandise this season. Not a big enough hit to really damage the league but it could be enough to send a message maybe?
  3. LOL, I like the way you think.
  4. I actually bought a bunch of them to eventually make a roof. They make really cool shingles when overlapped.
  5. That was my plan as soon as I got a good look at it. I'm not sure if it will be "Noodle Palace" or "Golden Palace". Depends on how I want to make the sign I guess.
  6. I used to live in Ottawa as a kid but having been back in Victoria for the last 30 years I can safely say I could no longer tolerate such a climate. I can only imagine the cold in Winnipeg. Stay warm and build on. :)
  7. What a tease. When I read the title of this thread I assumed "sack" was being used in the Euro-English sense of "fired". This will be another interesting test for this whole project. Nowhere does it say that you can only submit model ideas that will sell X number of units. It says you must get 10,000 supporters. To use a sports metaphor: they keep moving the goalposts when someone they do not like scores a goal.
  8. Hey do you know Jacque from Canada? I met him once and he was cool... Just kidding, welcome from the wet coast! I assume you are back East - as are 99.9% of the rest of you compared to me. ;)
  9. I did a set. I took a 32x32 straight road plate and made two "half" road plates. My buddy who is a definite trainhead showed my hpw he had done it to make some more flexibility in his layouts. They have come in quite handy.

    Park

    Clever bridge idea.
  11. Best necro-post of 2012! I want the series to finish now. :)
  12. WTF is a "blood wolf". Is that like a direwolf? ;)
  13. On yellow heads I have had great luck "shaving" the printing off using an exacto knife. Drawing the blade almost perpendicular to the surface you can scrape away the printing without taking too much of the "brick" and leaving big scratch marks. I have not tried it on Fleshie heads since I just trade those away as ASAP but it does NOT work for me on flat surfaces like bricks and plates. This technique allows you to remove all or part of a head's printing which I found great to get rid of Harry Potter lightening scars and giving bearded figs goatees. :)
  14. I just (last month) got some 1x8 engraved bricks done that say "Brick & Barrel" "Public House" so I am glad you didn't use that variant. ;)
  15. Naw, we just have weird time zones in Canada. It is already March here. ;)
  16. ^ Good luck! Sounds like fun.
  17. What is a "Brick Factor even"?
  18. It is not painted. It was molded with two colours of plastic no two examples are exactly alike as the two colours mixed in the mold.
  19. Uhm no, the colour cannot "wear off". The ABS plastic is solid colour. If you sliced the bricks open the middle would still be red or blue or whatever the colour is on the surface if the brick. I read some where that LEGO is also safe for aquariums with fish as the plastic does not break down in water. The main problem is sunlight. Exposure to UV rays causes the plastic to fade. Models in the parks are coated with a UV protective spray before going on display but even so they bricks must be replaced after a certain number of years.
  20. I kind of enjoyed the Thread popping up again actually. I built a background for my Xmas village last year and liked it so much I used it in the spring for a display (picture below) and will be putting it back up for Xmas in a week or so. Used up my entire stash of 1x medium blue bricks. :)
  21. What I find hilarious is they are so lazy they cannot even make their own oil company:"Entan"?!? With the same logo? You've gotta be kidding me.
  22. Been watching Call the Midwife on PBS which is set in the same time period I believe. Your street looks like it coule have been used as a set for the filming. Very nice.
  23. I emailed and received nothing whatsoever back.
  24. I emailed a week ago or so and I have heard nothing.
  25. Thanks for doing that. I hope we get something Pirate-y in 2013.
