Sorry, I'm not entirely caught up on the original plot. I know more about the second-final year than I do about the first year, and even then 3/4 of the ones you mentioned I have no clue as to what they are (only familiar one is Skrall) EDIT: Someone's probably mentioned this already, but on the image for Tahu you can make out part of the "backpack". The piece in particular is similar too another part that is way too large to fit back there, so at least some of the sets are going to have a special backpack piece.

It's not really LOSS anymore, it's Skull Krata/whatever the weird name is. If it's Skull Krata, then I'd say it's going to be a case of "buy multiple of the set because this is going to appear as a massive army!", it wouldn't be the first time LEGO has done this. I mean, all you need to do is look at year 1 and 2 of NINJAGO, or see the story explanation for multiple Meca-1s in EXO-FORCE. If the name is still LOSS, then I doubt he's the the head of the Skull Spiders, despite the name. Given that it's practically confirmed that this is a continuation now, I'd assume there's going to be some Titan-sized villain.

If the Inika return, Nuparu just needs his Sniper Rifle and shoulder cannon and I'll be happy.

Mainly because everyone was expecting an actual proper reveal, not just a little promo like what they do at first with every other line.

As great as that is, it's a bit overdone and not quite as ridiculous as "how to LEGO Rock Raiders". IMO this is funnier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkUtbm_uj8Y&index=1

I know. I'm just saying it's not the only factor in it. I suppose as time goes on now we're getting a clearer view of where everything went to Bara Magna wrong. Story accessibility, set function loss other than blasters, weak ball joint connections, story accessibility (referring to Bara Magna, it was too shallow), etc. It seems they never found a sweet spot after 2003.

From what I've read on other websites (Facepunch, etc) it seems the reason BIONICLE lost favor wasn't the plot, but rather the sets. The gear functionality in the earliest sets was one of the selling points for many people, and when they removed them for a CCBS-ish style system, people started to lose interest. It would make sense, given the return of gear functions and that every time we've gotten new info it seems like we're actually getting a continuation. Seriously though, I hope we get a revamp of CCBS in 2016 that gives us the best of both worlds between the Technic and CCBS constraction systems. The ease to build (and functionality) of CCBS, but has the wonderful style of the Technic constraction.

But nothing about BIONICLE screams "MAGIC!" other than the Masks themselves (and even then there are exceptions) , and you yourself just stated in the original plot they were advanced technology. Look at Kopaka's mask. Does it tell you that it is magic, or that it's technological in some way? Look at all of the vents on the masks. Assuming nothing has changed, none of this stuff is very magic-y. Shoulder/body/arm/weapon mounted machine gun cannons don't help. It fits the new Mask of Creation, yes, but if they over use the magic (my main concern) it's not going to fit, especially considering we're not using as many pistons now. Everything looks sleek and refined, not gritty, uncovered and mysterious.

If the new plot is centered around magic, it's certainly going to have a negative impact on my view (and purchases) of the new line. It just doesn't feel right to wave a magic wand (no pun intended) and declare that the plot will be completely consist in every way because magic. Even NINJAGO isn't doing that, while we've never gotten an explanation for the Elemental Weapons (hints, but nothing concrete) they're certainly not made out to be magic plot Macguffins (even if they kind of are)

Hey guys, I have a challenge for you. There's whispering in the background of the video displaying the Mask of Creation; would anyone mind slowing the video down to see exactly what they're saying? (if anything at all?)

Why is this in Sci Fi now? Rock Raiders is a part of the Action theme collection.

No, I think that's agiven at this point. There may be no new parts (in which case, GG LEGO), but there's going to be a few mind-boggling techniques at the very least.

The only problem is that the top is insecure, not exactly unexpected given the axles are held in place by technic beams (which in turn are secured by a separate axle). I wish I could design stuff as well as you guys do...

Onua has two separate Knob gears, so I would say he has that function. Let's hope the big reveal answers all (which it obviously won't, if anything it'll be the logo or an HD image of Tahu and Lewa, nothing too special)

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Torchbearer/LewaConcept/dscf1239.jpg All credit for the design goes to Leewan. This gearbox works incredibly well, the friction created between the pinions allows for even two arms to be held up at the same time. Unfortunately, my pictures of it with two arms look terrible (I don't have a lot of Constraction sets with technic, give me a break lol) I couldn't find my "bone extender" part (the one that allows for placing armor on the back that isn't a foot), so I couldn't display a rough version of it. Simply put a black pin through and attach it onto the lower body. Not perfect, but this is only rough ideas. EDIT: Oh yikes that's a big image. Could an Admin resize it if this is too large?4 EDIT 2: Added that back armour, side shot: So yeah, not too protruding at all! Instead of the part I said I would use I deferred to a blue half axel/pin and used a ball cup on the end. The torso keeps it in place, works perfectly well.

I've just built that as of this instant. Works perfectly fine, but the arms on the Masters are directly behind the Shoulders, not above. I'm about to attempt my own one now, and I have a feeling I know what we've missed to hit the right spot with these. edit: to clarify, I built my own one then modified it to work without hitting the back of the skeleton EDIT 2: Did someone say, "impossible"? Sorry that this is on tinypic, my Majhost account hasn't sent me the activation link yet I've included the "Jay" signature so that people know I made this. Thanks to GK for the inspiration for this, I was just dying to innovate it SOrry about the mish mash pieces... my technic collection really needs organizing. Anyway, nothing like the actual sets will be, as Aanchir pointed out, but it's completely possible with existing parts to do this. Very sketchy, and I know a technique that would have been able to perfect this for usage of a head had I been able to find the right parts. This is probably a function on at least one of the sets, I hope. Oh, I feel it is my obligation to point out Onua has two Four Knobs on his back. Probably means seperate arm functions. And Lewa has a set of pinions in his armpits. Just sayin'

Oh, for those who were wondering about the changes from "Toa" to "Masters", etc, I think I have the answer. - Wikipedia I think it's pretty likely that LEGO would distance themselves to avoid another controversy like this. It'd be good if someone could confirm everything I've just quoted.

Don't think so... we might have gotten prices a few pages back, but I don't think it was in NZ (probably)
