"2006 was the most profitable year for BIONICLE"
Mandate replied to TwistLaw's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Did it? While profits and tickets are different measures of sale, adjusted for inflation A New Hope was the 3rd highest grossing film of all time. -

Only one question from me, did anything come alongside the Toa, eg, alternative masks such as this year's own Golden Masks and Skull Spiders?

No, it isn't. Leaks are an illegal activity, LEGO is actually doing a favor to those that are going to save the images to their computer. While I doubt charges (if any) will be pressed against anyone other than the leaker and retailer, it's still illegal in most large countries.

It's 4chan, being rude and not making sense is their specialty. Also mine, too. "Worrisome"? It really shouldn't be. Leaks are an illegal activity, and you can be sure that with recent events with Disney LEGO's plumbers are going to be under a LOT more pressure in the future.

Please use the "quote" button to the right of a person's post - it helps all of us out. This year's retailer catalog apparently has a specific code on the watermark to identify which retailer leaked the picture. While I'm sure Mesonak is trustworthy, I couldn't blame Nekchir for not wanting to take any chances when his job is on the line. Leaks are becoming a more risky business each year now, and I wouldn't be surprised if we stopped getting them soon.

If I recall correctly, didn't Nilkuu say in the book that once someone had a Skull Spider on their face for too long, they were lost forever to darkness or something, and became zombies?

What are the most underrated Hero Factory sets?
Mandate replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
lol nope I don't fully remember how people reacted, but I think there was some negativity about him, probably XT4. Out of the sets I've got he's actually fairly good. Original design, and personally I didn't mind his shortcomings. I also got him for $4, so that's probably helping -
Episode 12 is out. By far my favorite episode.

Worst as far as Toa are concerned? Jeesh, the Hagah get no love from anyone The Hordika would like a word with you. The plastic was not the problem. The molds were the problem.

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread

can nya learn airjitzu and spinjitzu
Mandate replied to darthzane321's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nya has used spinjitzu before, and now that she's a ninja, there's no reason for her not to be able to use airjitzu. -
Same basic concept has been present amongst all of them. Replace the 2007 Castle's skellies with humans, and there's basically no difference between it, Kingdoms and the 2013 Castle. Knight's Kingdom I had forgotten about, but the only thing "radical" about the concept was the Jelly Bean knights and the presence of an actual story. Set-wise, not including the constraction figures it was pretty standard. You're right, they do not need to exist in the same world. Except that you're wrong on the account of "they could take place in either world". It's been confirmed that the movie will be canon to TLM's world. Do I trust NINJAGO's writing team to avoid merging the lines? Not entirely. I'd rather not go into detail about it (this is the 2016 thread, after all) but I'll summarize it as this: It devalues the original lore and atmosphere, it opens up the gate for more retcons, it makes the backstory even more confusing and convoluted, it provides a limitless "Get out of jail free card" for retcons and ridiculous moments, and it's already been abused with one-off realms like Chima. It's the Metru Nui of NINJAGO, some people will like it, but ultimately it's a bad idea. Heck, with what they did with the Cursed Realm you could even argue that Ninjago is inside a giant robot at this point. That's... not even close to what the word cynical means. Even if my statement was being cynical, what's your point? LEGO is releasing a lot of movies very quickly after one another, and it could easily bomb. There are many high-profile franchises and films made by high-profile actors, directors, writers, producers and companies that have flopped. Perhaps I could have worded it better, but LEGO is either going to win big or lose out on their cinematic universe.

Is it really wise to be assuming how the Summer sets are selling based on a single report about a single store?

Castle, Space and Pirates frequently take breaks in between different lines. There's never been any "radical" reimagining of any of them so long as you follow through to the next consecutive line. Doubtful. The TLM universe is significantly different to the NINJAGO universe in tone, style and lore- oh wait nevermind I just remembered the idiotic "Realms" idea. Chima might have just been a cameo, but I wouldn't put it past the Hageman brothers to pull a stunt like putting the TV show and TLM in the same world. We probably won't see a reboot until after LEGO's cinematic universe inevitably dies, assuming it even gets off the ground.

Actually, Tahu doesn't have the problem Kopaka does because of the physics behind the way his weapons are usually held (at least if you're boring like me). If you keep him in a "standard" pose (swords out the front)t he weight of one sword will counteract the other, making them balance and keeping the friction pin out of use. I'm almost certain Tahu's swords would be heavier than Kopaka's spear, though I'm not an expert on how one type of plastic can be heavier than another. Still though, if only the gear mechanism's posing ability relied on a gear that can be locked into place instead of a friction-based system. It'd be a win-win situation for everyone really, those that want rapid-swinging arms get rapid-swinging arms and those that want awesome poses can do them without issue.

Well, they've had ample amounts of time to have recreated the mold, but maybe they will soon. Speaking of gearboxes though, I was very disappointed to pull Toa Master Kopaka down from my shelf today only to find his arm could no longer hold itself up because the friction pin had worn out. Supposedly the Toa Metru (I don't have one, so I can't compare) could have the gear on their back pushed forwards to lock their arms into place, similarly to the Toa Nuva alternate build. Surely something similar would have been better than relying on friction pieces that wear out for the new sets?

By "evergreen" I would assume it's they're going to reboot it like Transformers, or how they have done with BIONICLE, when the current line/s ends.

I would have thought that, since the one Quisoves used was fake, it would have been okay?

Well, at the very least we've got hope now that the Toa might not be clones of their forms from this year. There will be virtually no point in buying them if there isn't something new to differentiate them.
