  1. Actually wait, Weathertop does have horses! I forgot about them. They weren't in the main part of the scene though. If that set was made, it could come with about three Nazgûl (plus horses), Arwen and Frodo. There isn't a lot of scenery though, I'm not sure how it'll look... And yeah, I was a bit surprised considering they seem to be major antagonists in the first movie. Maybe there aren't enough parts of the movie where the Nazgûl appear, but it's odd that they're only in one set.
  2. I've finally watched The Fellowship of the Ring, my first Lord of the Rings movie viewing. The figures now are a lot better now that I recognise them. Boromir and Aragorn look a bit off colour-wise though. Unfortunately, it's not easy to get all nine Nazgûl/Ringwraiths/Black Riders because only two appear in a set, and it's a rather large one. If there were three in the set, you could buy three of it to get nine. Since there are two, you'd need to buy five... way too costly. I know, they're not too hard to make, and there's always Bricklink, but I'd like the official versions. Also, the torso piece is new, I think. I hope they appear again at some point, perhaps along with their horses.
  3. Interesting. I thought Mezmo was the same colour as the other blue snakes we have now? I'm not sure story-wise, but either way, some variety is nice. I'm in the same boat here. The Epic Dragon Battle is definitely overkill, and I don't particularly like the dragon because it's way too bulky.
  4. I haven't played the game, so I'm not sure about how characters actually look. Maybe they're more detailed in cutscenes? In terms of body proportions, at least, Clone Wars characters are somewhat exaggerated, particularly with facial features. I think in this case the minifigures wouldn't be Clone Wars-style, because if the in-game characters look kind of odd, it's probably unintentional.
  5. Hmm, interesting. The scientist looks pretty cool, and it's too bad we won't get the protagonists how they're shown there. I thought the swamp monster image was confirmed? I remember a while back it was found on an official site or something. Oh well, hopefully the real thing is just as good.
  6. Well, we have only had one Star Wars-themed game so far, and it looks like it might be a one-off. I'm not sure how many people collect microfigures, but so far there's only one set for Star Wars ones. There isn't an image, but according to this, he's different. The only problem I have with leg printing (in Star Wars) is the lack of consistency. This is especially noticeable with Clones and Stormtroopers.
  7. It makes sense storyline-wise (kind of) and it's an excuse to release rather odd figures, but you can't really have a uniform team with them. That's too bad if you want Ghostbusters or something along those lines, especially if the vehicles aren't from the same time period either.
  8. Hmm, is it just me or do the boxes look rather large? Either that, or the sets are smaller than I expected. The minifigs look great so far. The sets are also nice, and it looks like some of them can be joined together.
  9. Hmm, they stuck with the red version of the Republic Striker. Oh well... I hope the structure's better, at least. The Advent calendar version of R2-D2 might be interesting. Edit: wait, Boba Fett with leg printing? Wow. I know he's in the scene, but I think including Boba in the Skiff is a little overkill...
  10. Maybe Frankenstein is too gruesome for kids? It is person made out of dead people, so they might have toned him down a bit. Yeah, they do look like the bad guys because of the diversity and mechanical limbs. The only problem is that they look like they're from different time periods. Well, interesting so far. The vampire is great if you missed the Collectible Minifigure version.
  11. Hmm, I see. I'd say many of the figures classified as neutral are actually male, which would scale up the ratios. I see your point in doing that though, because in some themes (such as City) the minifigs are somewhat ambiguous. You could switch out the heads so the figure could be either gender, and it's the closest to gender-neutral in a minifig.
  12. Interesting read. What qualifies as a "gender-neutral" figure, though? I looked through my minifig collection, and aside from non-human figures, everything appears to be either male or female. Also, on the yellow skin tone point, I thought it was used because it's a "generic" skin tone. Though effective in licensed themes, flesh-coloured minifigs in all themes would look really odd.
  13. Ooh, pretty. So this is stuff that was designed but never made, right? That's a shame. The armour does look a bit too thin at parts to be made, but there's a perfectly good opportunity to release these in a future wave if they're not going to be used elsewhere.
  14. That looks okay and it could work, but it would make Spiderman look different from the other minifigs with the round head. Also, there would be even more complaints about oversized heads. At least Iron Man has an excuse.
  15. I still think it's better as an octopus made of a cloud with lightning. I don't think so, but that's just given me an idea. Nya should have a phoenix, instead of a dragon like the other ninja if that theory is true. That would also be a great set.
  16. Hmm. Though the Death Star does have moulded lines, it still looks very odd without print. If the lines were printed on as well as moulded, it'd look really good. I agree, the laser is a real missed opportunity. The Death Star doesn't look complete without a hole at the centre of the firing array. Oh well, I suppose if you buy lots of these, you'd get some really great Christmas ornaments.
  17. Hmm, I always assumed they were elemental or totemic animals. Not quite sure about Cole, though. Maybe a rhino or something?
  18. Hmm, I don't think a mini-sub was part of the Gungan Sub. The storage areas weren't shown in much detail either. I hope they get the shape better this time as I missed out on the first. A sleeker shape and yellow oval-shaped bubble pieces would be great, and the tail could also be fixed. Also, 1138th post.
  19. Wow. I don't collect Architecture sets (not available in stores), but this definitely looks like one of the worse models of the lot. I would have expected something bigger, considering it's a fairly iconic landmark. Also because I live ten minutes away from it.
  20. I think that was the original plan. It'd be easier, but less interactivity... oh well. A smaller map might be another option. A new Minecraft update is out, but it's completely destroyed my game due to a null pointer exception. I think it may be the client's problem. Edit: The problem is a severely-outdated graphics card. If you have an ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 like I do, you can't run Minecraft now.
  21. Hmm, interesting... I think the main problem with Iron Man is the lack of armour and not the helmet. I don't mind oversized helmets, though Iron Man's torso does seem to make the helmet appear even larger. It's nice to see that Hulk has a standard minifigure-shaped head, or possibly an actual minifig head.
  22. Hmm, Santa Maul. Well, I suppose the figure's more useful because of the red neck. Switch out the head, and it's effectively a normal Santa figure. The hood is also potentially useful, I guess...
  23. The "moderators on at all times" will need some work, particularly with the player limit. Even if we do somehow have moderators online, exactly what can we do to prevent griefing? Whether we start a new map or not, it'll probably be a large one. I'm not quite sure how to fix a problem like this. Maybe we could have two large areas (separated), and apply permissions to each so that anyone can build in one, but only selected people can build in the other.
  24. Only Pinioncorp's able to do that, but nice to know the server's working for you. I kind of feel like the server's customer support, especially when new people log on and can't warp.
  25. What, a small catapult constructed out of a few pieces that don't really fit with the set? Unfortunately, that seems possible. The window-breaking idea would be nice, but unless if it's made out of a few dozen transparent pieces fitted together in a haphazard way, it would look really fake. I don't know how the set would be structured though. For an interior scene, somehow I don't think the inclusion of a few walls is enough.
