  1. That's a good point. Still, we only knew about the planet sets until after those two were out (or at least known). Maybe that's where they were heading with the "new concept". We're also getting an X-Wing in a planet set, so it makes sense. So perhaps I can have a Cloud Car army after all.
  2. There's something about that toy robot that wants me to make an army of them. Also, Roman and genie!
  3. Wow! An Aztec, knight, bagpiper... Time to start massing gladiators while I still can. I personally love the historic-themed minifigs, but there are other good offerings. I also like the rabbit guy, the space marine and the hippie. I would really love a weird historical theme incorporating these minifigures all at once. Edit: wait, that space marine's helmet looks very familiar. Looks very much like an ODST helmet. Hopefully we'll see the helmet in black or grey.
  4. It's nice to see more characters, particularly colourful ones. The Oil Rig is okay. It would probably integrate well with City sets, but I'll pass.
  5. The Interceptor looks great. Minifigures are also great, but Obi-Wan looks a little... odd. Hopefully that's the first of many Interceptors to come. So, looks like the ARC's pauldron and kama are both cloth. The pauldron I can live with, but it's really annoying that the kama is cloth when we've got plastic versions before. There might be hope though. Rangefinders (and other Clone accessories) are never packaged individually, so we'll probably get a bag of Clone gear as well. They might also be in red, considering the red rangefinder. And finally, those sandy Sandtroopers are great. I might just have to buy two of the Droid Escape set.
  6. Oops, you're right. The Batcave looks much better now. Minor complaint, are Bane's head and clothes black or dark blue? I think dark blue would have looked better.
  7. Huh, I didn't know this line was still continuing. The Flying Dutchman isn't too bad. I also find it highly amusing that Davy Jones is wearing a green version of Davy Jones's hat from the Pirates of the Caribbean line. On the other hand, the Party set looks like a rushed remake. If they left out the buildings, it would be great, but the buildings are only going to increase the price more for a slight variation on what we've already seen before.
  8. I don't think anyone's noticed, but Robin now has a mask thing. Does he qualify for Red Robin now? I hope we'll see regular Robin at some point. It also concerns me that Bruce Wayne is (supposedly) in the Batcave set, yet Alfred isn't.
  9. Looks like I jumped to conclusions with the sets. Right, so the Cloud Car, AT-ST and a previously unknown X-Wing are actually the next wave of planet sets. It's not too exciting though, just like the Y-Wing, another lost opportunity to get a Cloud Car or possibly-new AT-ST. If that actually is Lobot, then that does hint towards a Cloud City, but that's not the best way to create a Cloud Car Army.
  10. Hmm, plausible. But a Felucian Fighter? Old Republic Starfighter? I don't even know what those are referring to. I was initially hoping that we'll see some of those Felucians from The Force Unleashed, but it's more likely that they'll be those turtle-like ones in the series. I'm not sure what the Old Republic Starfighter is, but I hope it's this: And maybe it'll include Republic Troopers! As for the others, they sound good. I'll probably skip the AT-ST, unless if there's a difference or if there are Ewoks included. The standalone Cloud Car does seem to hint towards Cloud City, because it's a bit odd by itself. Either way, it's very early for this news to surface.
  11. Especially considering the cause... On another topic, I believe it's been said that there will be only pre-releases until the final release. Is the server going to be updated at any point? I'm still using 1.8.1. I don't really want to install pre-releases, but if the server updates, I probably need to as well.
  12. Well, the site is Australian and I think that's pretty close to what we pay here, so it should be cheaper than that in most other areas. Not as expensive as I first thought, though. Also, I don't think it's been mentioned before, but the site also lists a Captain America figure, along with the four we've seen already and the Joker.
  13. The image showing the boxes seem to hint that this is the entire first wave. I was hoping for more sets, but oh well. I agree, at first glance that the sets look like rereleases of the originals, and Lego seems to be running out of ideas. The Marvel wave should be more promising though, as we haven't had any Marvel stuff for a long time. Though I missed out on Batman, I was hoping for a bit more emphasis on other DC characters.
  14. Although it's only October, the Star Wars Advent calendar might be popping up now. I just bought it from an independent store for a horribly-inflated price of $70... for only 266 pieces, that's very expensive. I was probably ripped-off, but all things considered, I'd rather pay a bit more for it than miss out entirely.
  15. Maybe I'm overlooking something here, but are we sure that the pauldron is cloth? There appears to be a greyish bit of armour connected to it, and the helmet looks a bit high up. It looks to me that the cloth piece is preliminary, and the final ARC will have a solid piece of armour, like Savage Opress has.
  16. Yeah, almost certainly. Orange and purple isn't really that bad (it's colourful at least), but I would have liked the original black and white one better. One of the things I was hoping for with this line is that characters would be repeated less, or at least, different variations like we've seen to an extent in the Pirates of the Caribbean line. That said, I suspect you're right. I don't think Wolverine would have many variations, if at all, and he would probably be repeated quite a bit.
  17. Regardless of the appearance in the preliminary sets, I'm pretty sure the hood will be grey. The illustration on Lloyd's booster pack depicts him with a grey hood even though the photo of the minifigure has a black one, and if anything, the illustration should be the least preliminary of the images on the packaging. Also, there is already a black hood existing. It would be easy to use a black hood for prelim's sake either way.
  18. Yay, pictures! The Catwoman, Joker and "Double-Face" (is that even a character?) sets are basically smaller remakes of the originals. That's great in my case, as I missed all previous sets. However, "Double-Face" and truck is really odd. I preferred the original Two-Face. The others are okay, even if they are smaller. Lex Luthor is pretty cool. I would have preferred that green armour thing over a generic black suit, but otherwise fine. Finally, the Batcave seems much smaller than the original, but is okay. More figures and building parts would have been nice. Anyway, great to see some pictures. There will probably be more sets in this wave, and I hope we'll see more rereleases of other characters.
  19. I agree. While I still stay clear of clone brands, there are tons of brands with similar mechanisms to Lego pieces, and that can't be controlled. Minifigures are a different matter altogether. I love minifigures, and they are a major part of the sets and company in general. I'm not sure what the possible consequences may be, but from a legal and consumers' standpoint, Lego should win this.
  20. Yeah, the grey hood is nice. It doesn't make sense though, a slightly modified scale torso would fit better. Obviously, the booster packs would contain the figure itself or there would be little motivation to buy it. Also, I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but part of the packaging on booster packs are clear. Wow, that's strikingly similar, down to the colour scheme and everything.
  21. Wow, nice! Looks a lot better with two combined, but obviously more costly. The Black Falcon knight looks pretty nice. I wish they were in Kingdoms more, maybe in a smaller jousting set or something. They would make a pretty good neutral team, and the black/white colour scheme does seem to highlight that.
  22. Looks like all of the ninjas' vehicles transform, though some less than others. By far, the best transformation has to be the jet. This is also the best wave. While I would have preferred more ninja buildings, all of the ninja vehicles can easily be adapted into other things. There are some more nice details we can see from these clearer pictures. There are two blue cobra-like snakemen, and also two red double-headed snakemen. Lloyd isn't as intimidating as Lord Garmadon is, and I think his design is preliminary due to the skeleton torso. Does anyone know if spinner sets and boosters are Chinese plastic as the previous ones were? If so, I'll be skipping them.
  23. With these clearer images, the tranquiliser guns seem to feature a new clip piece rather than a new gun mould. That would be incredibly useful for gun attachments, scopes and so on. I think all of the syringes are meant to be green or trans-green. The sets where they're not appear to have placeholder silver weapons.
  24. Wow, these clearer images made me rethink this. The dinosaurs are much more detailed than I previously thought. There's also some textured bits on the dinosaurs, which is nice. The base looks fairly good. The small dinosaur is nice, and overall the base has a Power Miners-like feel to it.
  25. Lego Universe seems like a missed opportunity here. I imagine something along the lines of Ninjago, with collectible minifigures and accessories sold in packs, as well as small sets. From memory, the Beta had some things which were only partially comprised of pieces. That may be a problem in sets.
