  1. The Fury! Yes! I was going to skip Saesee's Starfighter, but is that Even Piell? The shape is really odd though. Gungan Sub is nice. All the others are okay. The Jabba's Palace set is probably under everyone's expectations. The minifigs are great, but I have no idea what the set itself is meant to resemble. On the plus side, seeing as Luke appears to be absent from the set, I think we'll get another "Palace" to connect to it, hopefully including the Rancorr.
  2. Wait, there's a controversy over this? I really can't see any problem. Sure, the colour scheme and everything may be "stereotypical", but when has a "stereotypical" colour scheme ever stopped all of the other toys being produced featuring copious amounts of pink? "Girls can like a toy without it being pink." If that's the case, then they're probably already collecting sets from City or otherwise. The new colour scheme, if anything, will attract more people that like their toys pink. They're not complaining about the simpler (mostly) construction of the sets, or the larger figures. It's just because of colours. Seriously? Additionally, quite a few of these are entirely new colours. Even if you're not a girl or don't like the sets, they provide more variety in pieces. As a side note, when has Lego ever had a "military line", as stated in the video?
  3. So after all the rumours, it's finally confirmed. Wow, I didn't expect that. I'm not really a Lord of the Rings fan so I assumed this was all wishful thinking, but seems like it isn't. The title thing at the top of the image reminds me of the Pirates of the Caribbean one. Similar colour scheme and layout.
  4. The Interceptor looks great, though the wings look a little out of place. R2-D2 looks a little pale. New Gunray is nice, even though he's kind of an odd addition (as well as the Battle Droid) because there's no scenery for him.
  5. Wow, that's interesting. I think the version in the show was greener, this toned-down version looks great though. I might skip it this time, but it's a nice set.
  6. I've been wondering this myself. I wouldn't exactly say it's redundant, because there's potential for some nice things (e.g. figures), but I don't see it doing great as sets considering the way blocks connect in the game (they don't overlap, they go on top of each other). I looked through some nice stuff the other day, and the 10000 supporter target seems a little extreme when most good models are only in the thousands. Yes, I like Minecraft and sets would be great, but I can't help but think what better things could have taken its place. The way I'm seeing things now, people voted for Minecraft because they're supporters of the game itself, and custom creations don't have that kind of support.
  7. Hello. Since it says "connection refused", I think it's probably fixed and should be back up soon. Chickens should be fixed pretty easily in comparison to, say, spawning giant objects. I'm fine with going into exile if I've ruined your afternoons.
  8. Hmm, the figure is still a little scary. Nice to know that the hair is interchangeable, though I would have preferred hard plastic.
  9. Unfortunately, I can't help, though I've heard it's a common problem. Yay, new map is up! There's a village close to the spawn, which is interesting... Is this the island map, or just a new one? I won't start building until I know where I am.
  10. The back printing is nice, but the back of the helmet looks a bit too unnaturally clean. That's quite a difference. Less tan and more white is definitely a good thing. Looks like I'll be buying the X-Wing.
  11. Yeah, it seems like security is tightening. You'd think a little leak would promote some hype here and there, but there are obvious reasons behind not wanting leaks to come out.
  12. Oh hi. Well, this is interesting. I would have preferred if the set had some other characters (green Robin would have been nice), and adding the Joker in again is odd. Looks like I was right about the crowbar. That's too bad. I like the overall look, it's similar to the circus levels in the Lego Batman videogame. Still, it's a nice enough set, even if I do get multiple figures.
  13. Hmm, the Riddler's on the new site, and yet we've seen no trace of him being in a set. If he is in an exclusive set, it's been covered up rather well. I hope the crowbar isn't a replacement for his staff.
  14. I like all of those ships. The Fury's nice, the Mantis looks like something Boba Fett would own, and the Phantom is cool too. Back on topic, The Freighter does look like a yellow precursor of the Millennium Falcon, and the Defender (which I quite like) looks a bit too "heavy" for the starfighter classification. If it were one of the ships included on the image, it would probably be the Thunderclap. It kind of looks like a cross between a Skyhopper and X-Wing, but it seems to be the most likely one.
  15. Given his attitude, it's a pretty accurate representation of him. Hmm, not sure about the new head. They're much more intimidating faceless, and we've never seen them without helmets in the movies. Oh well, I guess you could just turn their heads around and they'll be faceless again.
  16. Yeah, that's definitely why it looks so odd, plus the fact that snakes don't normally have legs. I think I see a transforming function! The legs look like they might be able to fold forwards or back, producing a strange boat-like vehicle. Something interesting, the Arena has a gold khopesh if you missed out on it from Pharaoh's Quest. The pitchfork may look out of place, but it's the choice weapon of angry mobs everywhere. Also, look at what the other guy's holding, a weird bat of some sort?
  17. Not really news, but... Via Notch's Twitter. I'm not really researching this much, but this statement seems to be enough evidence that Minecraft sets are confirmed. I just hope they do it the right way, though. Stuff like inventory packs, small bits of land and the like. I saw some cool merchandise a while back of Minecraft fridge magnets which come in various different blocks that you can create small models with. That would be great.
  18. I hope the Death Star does eventually end up being printed (at least a little). Even with moulded lines, it looks so plain when you compare it to Tatooine and Naboo's printing. Hmm, I didn't notice it before, but the Podracer's cockpit isn't connected to the engines at all.
  19. Interesting... the walker looks kind of odd, and the snake heads in the arena remind me of the Bohrok's old head-smashing function. Also, what? The green S that was previously on Lloyd's torso is now a 5? If the similar face wasn't enough confirmation, this probably is. A pink ninja... interesting. I'd like to have a few of those.
  20. Personally, I prefer if they left out the musicians in Jabba's Palace, because there would only be one or two. If there was an additional stage set with them, that would be great. Plus, it could be used to build an orchestra. I'm fine with whatever random figures they put in, so long as we get the important ones. However obscure, they would still be good for background decoration, and we need more neutral/generic/"civilian" minifigs in large sets, I think.
  21. The palace may be the wrong set to apply this to, though I like the idea of combining sets. Sets like the multiple Hoth/Echo Bases are a good example of how this might work. They're not exactly meant to be connected as they're not really the same building or location, but it is the same scene. Jabba's Palace, however, is the same building. I don't think it's big enough to require splitting up, and expansion sets won't really work as the structure will need to be rearranged. If Jabba's Palace really needs expansion, then I'd imagine subtle things like maybe an extra room, or a small exterior part for the entrance to the door... things like that.
  22. Yes, but will they be updated automatically for servers? That's what I'd like to know. It'll be hell for mod-users, too. And speaking of updating, I think the server's simply not updated, which is why we're still getting the server key error.
  23. I agree on both points. With some sets, it almost seems impossible to not use flesh-skinned minifigs. The new Dino theme comes to mind... it would perhaps look more serious. It's also annoying if you're looking for faces to customise your army with, and all of the good prints are on yellow heads... Clone Wars minifigs aren't too bad either. Sure, incompatibility, but I've never really cared about that. That's a good point. Majority of Star Wars sets are vehicles, and iconic as they may be, they're more like display pieces. I recently bought the most recent AT-AT and Echo Base, and even though that's enough to set up a small scene, it still doesn't seem like enough. Like the recent amount of Hoth-related sets, I'd like a specific part of Star Wars to be the focus each wave with multiple sets for them, particularly buildings and things. For example, an Endor wave with bunkers and trees rather than unrelated vehicles from different eras.
  24. I can verify this, I've just returned from mine and saved $98. The person at the counter couldn't scan mine, but after typing in the code I still got the 30% off. Thanks for the the tip!
  25. Well, the bug is now fixed. Connecting should work now. No, it isn't. Apparently the game will have regular weekly or so updates, though I hope these are automatic and don't require the server to be updated too often.
