  1. Quick question, does anyone know if shops do Collectible Minifig returns? Series 6 sold out way too quickly around here. Would it be possible to buy a whole box once Series 7 comes out, identify the ones you want, and then return the ones you don't want? This would obviously depend on the store, but has anyone actually tried this? It would be more convenient doing this than buying them online or something for me, personally.
  2. Ooh, nice. I hope these aren't as popular in my area as Series 6 was though, they sold out everywhere within a month.
  3. Hmm, it looks like a polybag promo set to me from the three black bricks also included (I assume they're part of it). Well, another figure I'll have to miss out on... it looks like there's printing underneath that armour piece, too.
  4. Hmm, that's what they're supposed to be, but I'm not seeing it very well... Would it be much harder to have a small brown rectangle on the leg prints? If they're already printing clothing on the legs, I don't know why they can't do boots while they're at it. I don't want anything too complex, no side leg printing or anything like Wonder Woman, but just a colour to break up dull colours like grey would be good.
  5. Ooh, that's pretty nice. It probably won't fit into my price range, but it might be my first UCS set.
  6. Hmm, surely boots don't go that high up. I can understand people being disappointed with the lack of printed Hobbit feet, but personally, the lack of printed boots is my main concern.
  7. Hmm, interesting. Unfortunately, we don't (and can't) get those leaf clasps they wore in the films. On another topic, there isn't much sword variety. I think Theoden, at least, deserves his own sword mould because the hilt's shape is unique. Hopefully we will see Andurin, though. That's too important to leave out, and it's also in one of the promotional images. Also, I've finally figured out why the minifigs look odd. They don't have printed boots! Aragorn and Legolas look particularly strange because of this. I don't think there's much chance of it being fixed now, though...
  8. Hmm, that's odd. I was sure Sam had a green cape like the other Hobbits (not the same shade of green, but green nonetheless). I know the capes were technically grey, but they look better in green, I think. I'm not sure how often Aragorn has a cape of any kind, but without one he looks kind of odd. Legolas probably needs a cape too.
  9. Wow, that's great! The repetition of the docks is a little plain, but the real thing would have probably been the same anyway.
  10. Hmm, interesting. I agree the cheek lines on Black Widow are a bit much, but Hawkeye looks like he could use some. The blue highlights on Black Widow are also a little odd. They're probably reflections of the black suit, but they don't really match the rest of the colours.
  11. Yay, finally a sale. Due to the impending LotR theme, I've been avoiding all purchases outside of sales, so I'll probably go crazy on the weekend. On another topic, does anyone know when or where the Darth Vader desk lamp will be released? I've only seen miscellaneous products (clocks etc.) at Myer so far. Edit: Also, what happened to the Naboo Starfighter? Has it even been released here?
  12. I'm not quite sure how that will work, but one option is to include the main part of Minas Tirith, and then have curved walls so we can add on the lower levels of the city. I'd particularly like if all future buildings were like Helm's Deep, i.e. be in small-scale but still recognisable and minifig-compatible.
  13. I should have phrased that better. Some helmet pieces supposedly appear oversized in Lego form. Iron Man is one example, others being the AT-AT pilot and so on. Maybe it's just me, but I think a helmet piece would have been a good incentive, even as a one-off. Star Wars is one example where a mould is made which will probably never be used again unless if the character appears in another set. I guess the shape can also be used in making an Uruk-hai Commander helmet, since it's basically a Berserker helmet with a crest.
  14. So, the Berserker won't have a helmet mould after all, and it's not even a proper hand on the helmet. It wouldn't be that difficult to have a helmet mould for the Berserker. I'm guessing this might be related to people complaining about Iron Man's oversized helmet. Also, I've now watched the third movie. There seems to be only one set (being Shelob Attacks) from Return of the King.
  15. I finally watched The Two Towers! I wonder if the Uruk-Hai Army set should have included Elves. In the Helm's Deep scene, for most of the initial fight, the Elves seemed to be the dominant force. The only Elves we're getting are Legolas and Haldir... there's definitely room for more Elves in sets.
  16. It's also great news for things such as spiral staircases and half-block platforms. Yay! Too bad we don't have mixable half-blocks though. I don't think it would be that hard to code in. I can't quite think of a use for them right now but it might be useful.
  17. But wait! There's more!
  18. The stud does look kind of weird to me, though if it was one smooth piece, it would arguably be un-Lego. I guess you could do more with the Gollum fig with it, anyway. Attach him to a cart or something.
  19. Argh, just as I found my old card! Oh well. And yeah, the prices at Myer do seem pretty inflated for Superheroes. The Catwoman set was almost $30? What?
  20. Hmm, do Myer One members normally get a 10% discount? I bought something today, but only when I got home did I notice there was no added discount or anything. Maybe I should ask next time. It's possible the cashier simply forgot.
  21. Exactly what are the quality differences? I haven't gotten a Superheroes set yet, but if quality is going to be an issue for Lord of the Rings, I might forget about my army plans. Are you in Australia, by any chance? Sounds like about the same prices we'd have... Edit: Oh, and I think Smaug might be brick-built with a moulded head, like the Ninjago dragons.
  22. I think we're starting to confuse ourselves here... Figure packs/figure-only battle packs are the ones in plastic packaging which are generally available only online and from some Lego stores. Battle packs are the small boxed sets. Battle packs (boxed) are not necessarily two-faction, and figure packs are not necessarily single-faction. When they were first introduced in Star Wars, battle packs were single-faction. I think that's unlikely as the films are already out, and have been for years. While there is a multitude of stuff that can be added into the game, how would they release them? One game for each movie in rapid half-year successions? One game for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and one each for each part of The Hobbit. I can see that happening.
  23. Ah, you're right. Hmm, I never knew about it... you can't build an army using that, so it's a slightly different case. Would it really impact other action figure sales that much? With Lord of the Rings though, there have been quite a few of those models and small figures, so I think it'll be the same way. (And of course, I'm automatically not interested if things aren't available from stores, which is why I'm pretty much anti-figure-only-battlepacks.)
  24. Ooh, nice. I know it's a bit weird to comment on packaging, but it does stand out a lot more than previous ones. The overall green colour is nice. It'll stand out more with that.
  25. Hmm, interesting. Definitely not what I expected. I suppose it could be a nice desk ornament, but are Cuusoo sets released in stores? Probably no chance of getting the set if they aren't...
