Hope I'm not too late. The one thing better than building a Christmas tree is watching your friends get stuck in the packaging.
-
Oh great, now you've ended the game. And yeah, it's the same IP as before. You may continually get an "invalid server key" error message trying to connect, even with the right IP. This is a new bug, unfortunately.
-
Yeah, there have been previous errors made in those pictures. I don't really mind the colour as some variety would be nice, but the grey ones should be in the battlepack either way.
-
Server's back up now for people with updated Minecraft.
-
Argh! Why are the Commando Droids bronze? I guess I could live with it, but it's so odd given the countless images we've had of the dark grey ones. Also, the dirty Sandtroopers look... less dirty. They almost look misprinted. Oh well...
-
More images! The henchmen in the theme are great, it's nice that they're getting equal attention as the main characters themselves. The Joker's pilot reminds me a little of the clowns from The Dark Knight.
-
The planet sets look nice. Might be good as Christmas tree decorations.
-
Wait, is Batman's "jet pack" a new piece? The figures look nice, but Bane still looks a little odd in black. I'm used to seeing him in dark blue.
-
I think he means the overall look. Next year's sets are especially overdone and colourful, and while I like that, it makes the theme seem more for kids. (Extremely obvious statement.) Oh well, we can still hope. I think there's a fair chance that the new theme could be "Monster Fighters", but there's no supporting evidence besides some very shaky rumours. It does seem like a definite possibility though...
-
Based on this and the "Monster Fighter" rumour, it'll probably be a generic adventure thing where the characters look for monsters. Seems plausible because there's a slight trend between Collectible Minifigs and new themes. Hopefully we'll get some nice figures, anyway.

Leaf blocks only decay if they're natural, so that shouldn't really be a problem. You could always place more blocks. I was thinking that we have specific "roads" based on the island. A dirt path in the desert, a log path in the forest... Also something cool I've found is that lilypads are solid, so you can effectively walk on water and make a road to islands. 1.0 is out now, but the server seems to be down because of it. The server may still work if you haven't updated.

That's great! A couple of suggestions though... I think the spawn should be on a separate island altogether, with warps to other islands. With the spawn island, we can have messageboards, rules etc. that wouldn't fit in the town, and it'll be a lot less confusing and easier to navigate. Some islands that could potentially be added: swamp island (small or part of an existing one), mushroom island (though you have to wait until full release, and don't place any giant mushrooms!), and maybe change the "badlands" to be more solid with lava instead of water. By the way, is it possible to edit the Nether (and the End)? If so, both should be significantly flatter, because the Nether isn't a very good place to build. Edit: Maybe a volcanic area?

Yeah, it happens to me a lot too. It sometimes happens even when idle on the main menu, which is really annoying. Sorry for yet another post, but I've got some concept images in progress. This is the first: The full-sized version on my Flickr is approximately life-sized. Also, the Ghast is not one piece.

The full release should be either tomorrow or the day after. The full release is now gold (i.e. it's officially completed) so it will be out soon. I seem to be posting a lot in this thread. Nothing better to do I guess. I'll photoshop a few images to illustrate my ideas if a licensed theme ever comes out. Another thing, someone posted a comment about a program where you can select a chunk from an actual Minecraft map and then create it with pieces, similar to LDD. After that, you can then purchase the chunk as an actual set. Though that would be a great idea, support for LDD's set-buying feature will be closing next year, so it seems like an impossibility. Depending on how the pieces look, if they look exactly as they do in-game, that might be too expensive to be viable anyway.
-
So the licensing isn't a problem. Getting to 10,000 is the only thing in the way of LEGO Minecraft. Oh gosh. That's interesting. I think they've got quite a bit of potential with Minecraft. It'll be a bit like a mix of the Creator and Games lines, and seeing how the game already has so many players, it's definitely an option. I hope they don't use minifigures though. I'd like to see a new type of figure, similar to a minifigure but boxier like the characters in-game. Everything said, some stuff on Cuusoo is great while most is rather mediocre and extremely unrealistic, but this could have some potential.
-
Interesting. Personally, I'd like booster packs. I could also imagine all of the small sets combining to become a large map. These (at the top) would be nice. Just one problem, Minecraft is (or is meant to be) an "indie" game, meaning a license would be pretty far away from reality. I know there's been merchandise and various ports of the game which aren't out yet, but it's rather unlikely.
-
Nice try, the actual Notch's name is in yellow/gold. Virtually everyone should know that. Minecraft is released in three days, so any major glitches or bugs would probably be cleared up. My game has been freezing and crashing a lot more lately.
-
Well, yeah, but plenty of people complain about Clone Wars minifigures, and those are also based on a cartoon... I didn't notice that. Maybe (hopefully) that can also be used with Two-Face, because the hip looks odd in just one colour.
-
I've always been in some doubt over C3PO's eyes. They definitely looked printed, but it could have easily been lighting. I'm even doubting now. The new C3PO looks great, though I do hope it's a one-off. It's a nice clean look, but C3PO is kind of battered. If a half-built C3PO was made, I think the current minifig version would be best. He wasn't significantly skinnier by not having plating, anyway.

Oh hey, the hat has a purple stripe. Any stripe's better than no stripe, I guess. The mould for the Riddler's hat already has a band around the bottom anyway, so printing that purple seems like a possible move. And yay, more pics! Harley Quinn looks much better than the earlier version, which looked a bit too cartoony.
-
Oh, right. That's even better though, I like the patched effect between the two halves instead of having a clean straight line between them. Also, one way the Riddler could look better is if hat had a green stripe beneath the question mark. Maybe not accurate, but that would be nice.
-
Oh, nice! I do like the stingers though, they're pretty cool. Looking at the video again, there are some other interesting things. The green ninja seems to be fighting Garmadon at one point, and the theory about the nunchucks is interesting. This seems to imply the green ninja is a bad guy so far. There's also a large green mech thing with nunchucks. Could that be significant? Even more so as it's implied that the vehicles are transformed versions of the gold weapons. Hmm.
-
Nice! The head does look a little out of place though.
-
Wait, what? The Riddler? I hope his hat is actually green, because somehow he looks incomplete with a grey one. Two-Face looks a bit better now, and I like his new face. The different halves are a little subtle though.

Oh, my mistake. That makes sense, I guess, but aren't collectible minifigures also in the same boat? And maybe it's relative to location, as prices here are rather high. Edit: I might have been misinterpreted. I don't mean the spinners aren't popular. They definitely are, but the prices here seem to put most off. Edit again: What's HY mean? The wrecking ball thing is nice, but I like those stinger vehicles.
