  1. True! I haven't actually bought a newspaper with a Lego promotion before... The Woody promo has some common but useful pieces that might be of some worth. I'm always in need of cups...
  2. I haven't actually recalled that there was a deleted scene like this. Still, it's great and the control room is nice.
  3. Nice tree. I think it could do with more foliage overall (especially at the top) but that's quite a bit already given the scale of this.
  4. Lots of orange pieces! They capture the scene great.
  5. Looks great, and nice use of various pieces, including those pods.
  6. Great. I like the Vader-shaped part in the wall. I also noticed that you used yellow figs.
  7. I agree. Boxes would be much better. I don't keep them anyway. I'm not too fond of Rotor's (or Vapour's) mask because there aren't eyeholes. It's a bit strange that they didn't include any for that particular piece...
  8. I wouldn't exactly call it a theme as a whole, since the themes themselves usually are varied. More like a category, I'd say. I mainly collect action themes if there are interesting pieces or minifigs in the line. I also like collectable pieces.
  9. Hmm. Reading your comments, I think that the survey changes if you put a different age, country, and so on. I would have picked not to have stickers, but there wasn't an option for that. I did choose smaller packaging and better quality pieces, though. I'm a perfectionist.
  10. I agree with most of David's points. I don't have an issue with the fact that there are only small parts of buildings as I don't buy large sets, but it could be less random. The price seems about the same here to me, because it's all inflated anyway. I also don't mind having flesh minifigs, and in most cases prefer them if they're part of a licensed theme. I don't really have a problem with licensed sets in general unless I don't like them (that Ben 10 line, for example). Quick edit: did that come out wrong? Of course people won't buy sets if they don't like them. What I specifically meant was if I didn't like whatever the theme was based on to begin with.
  11. Great! The movement is a little jerky, but that's understandable and isn't a big problem.
  12. Indeed. My current complaint is about Jessie's lack of back printing, and even though it is usually completely wrong, the scale doesn't bother me.
  13. Oh no! I haven't quite finished building Woody's Round Up, but I'm a little disappointed. Jessie doesn't have back printing! This confuses me, as the dirty Jessie I own does have back printing (clean). Just when I thought the whole dirty and clean versions thing was over... For those of you that complain about the scale, the minifigs would be tiny if they were scaled to the Pizza Planet truck, garbage truck or the trash compactor. The funny thing about this is that some things, including Lotso's truck and RC (I think) actually require the minifigs to be a lot larger to be scaled properly.
  14. I didn't watch the movie before I read the spoiler. I also watched the movie today. It was quite good, but... I also came back with the Woody's Round Up set, meaning I only have one more set to go before I have rounded out my collection.
  15. Agreed. I also agree with ttoole73 in saying that they just don't have the appeal. Personally, I'd actually like to see more licensed sets providing that I was somewhat familiar with them or interested.
  16. Hmm. I'm divided on the Bulk and Vapour set... I think the addition of a slightly modified Bulk was more of an afterthought than a certain addition. I only really want Vapour, and I'll probably still get the standard Bulk whether I get this set or not. I think I may have discovered the problem with these sets. Those weapon arms are too detailed/contain too many shapes, etc. to be visually appealing, but of course that's my opinion. Do the colours of the characters symbolise anything? Because if they're not particularly important, we may see more variety in colours. It would be nice to finally get away from the base colours in Bionicle.
  17. Well, there's the Buzz impulse that I was expecting. Or promo. It doesn't really matter as bagged impulses don't come out over here (at least, I haven't seen any). If that's a printed piece in the impulse, it may be of some use...
  18. I just got my latest a few hours ago. I was very happy to see Cad's Bane Speeder, even though it was listed as being exclusive. There's still a chance that I'll be able to get it, in that case. I am having more and more doubts on the AT-AT, though. It seems to be bigger than I first anticipated. Hopefully it will be $150 or so (although very doubtfully). Very true, very true... How many times has something looked appealing to me, but was always out of my price range...? (Rhetorical question)
  19. Yes, I was saying that. It's not released here until September, so I'm not totally sure. I have only gotten one Atlantis set so far (the Wreck Raider) which was from impulsive buying. I'm in need of the minifigs and keys, but I don't really mind spending more to get the set itself. I don't buy off Bricklink, and I would not buy minifigs for such a price anyhow.
  20. Currently, those are the only and final two Toy Story sets on my list (although I haven't seen the Pizza Planet truck set around anywhere yet). And yes, I am getting those for those exact reasons. Speaking of the Pizza Planet Truck, I keep seeing a car which resembles it. It is a yellow Toyota with the white rear part, and I believe that is the actual car which the Pizza Planet version is based on. I've tried getting photos of it, but it's quite hard to find a specific car...
  21. Oh, so that's what it's meant to look like... I haven't seen the original films for quite a while, and don't recall seeing one clearly. Your version is a lot better than the official version, though, even though the legs are a bit too chunky.
  22. Great. They look quite realistic (maybe except for the stranger hair pieces, which aren't very likely to have that level of detail if they were real). My favourite is the robot design.
  23. Hmm. Doesn't seem too bad, but again, those oversized special parts are a bit annoying. Reminds me too much of Megabloks, but it might be permissible here.
  24. This may be a bit late... When I said $40, that was in Australian dollars, and I meant that was about the maximum I'd pay, not the maximum price of the set. Edit: oh yes, before I forget, Mutran and Vican was around $40 (Australian) here.
  25. Great! Looks a bit squashed, but still good.
