  1. ...And true again. It's been quite a long while since I last saw a Toy Story movie, but I'm sure there are one or two things they could create sets out of... On another topic, I got an interesting bonus with my Garbage Truck Getaway set, Buzz's legs (standard version, not dirty version like the set has).
  2. Wow. That is big. Well, not really, after looking closely I got a rough estimation of the size. Still big though, and way too expensive for my budget (if I can even find the set here). It does look good though. I suppose the new images have finally cleared up the cockpit discussion. It's nice that there are no stickers, but it is a UCS set, so I wouldn't expect any anyway.
  3. Oh no, this is what I was fearing... The portal set is apparently $160. Not much of a money-saver, as getting what I originally planned is around that price. I have calculated approximations of prices, and it seems getting the portal and another set with the manta warrior is my best bet. The manta warrior impulse is nowhere to be seen, though. This may just well be my most expensive purchase on a single set...
  4. Indeed. It's funny how when they ask for pictures to be removed, it effectively confirms the set does exist or is real...

Nice. I think the minifigs could be better (of course, that'd mean they would most likely be customs, so that's okay), and there could be more green elements. I do like the colour scheme, though. EDIT: The funny thing about the price categories is that each would be moved up over here. For example, the first set would cost $10 if it were real, the second $20...
  6. Interesting scene, and nice Tardis design.
  7. Pretty vegetation. Perhaps not very accurate, but still nice. The weapons are interesting, but don't fit very well, I think.
  8. Great! If I had enough pieces (or any MOCing skills) I'd attempt something similar. Transparent rock monster cars come to mind. Perhaps someday...
  9. I agree, the cockpit most likely isn't a single piece because of the scale of this set. Of course, I assumed the cockpit windshield was a giveaway once I saw this image, but I'm sure some will still have doubts... Still thinking it's way too big for me, though. I'm not too fond of UCS models (price, mainly), and they seem rare over here anyway.
  10. Looks more like a promotion to me. Well, I haven't seen any bagged impulses here... It's a bit funny that it's licensed. The strange thing though is that it's not a LGM or army man, it's Woody. There is significantly less of a motive to get more than one, and it's also odd considering Woody is a major character and there's only one.
  11. Uh oh. Just noticed the parts count for the shuttle, 2503 pieces. This is identical to what's on the first page. I've also just noticed the scale of this, the shuttle is huge! Or at least, for my standards. I'm now going to focus on that AT-AT. If it's 815 pieces, then it's probably going to be very expensive, but I'll see once it comes out here...
  12. Looked a bit funny to me until I saw the original. Not too sure about this set. It's nice, but that's all I can really say about it...
  13. Hmm. Might be decent if it's relatively cheap ($40 or so is the maximum).
  14. Hmm... the shuttle is great, but I'll have to see the size and price first to make up my mind. As for the AT-AT, as I've probably said before, the minifigs aren't great. Again, I'll need to wait and see if this is affordable enough... EDIT: I've just noticed the background (is that Endor?). Now that we've finally seen images, I guess the UCS debate is over for this set.

Yes, they do seem to be the same... Possibly a limited edition version available at Toys R Us? That looks like a rather big bear...
  16. 1. Rarely buy large sets, but no, hardly ever buy sets solely for parts. 2. Mostly individual, but in some cases the whole series. 3. While I wouldn't be able to buy it, I'd love a Colliseum or Acropolis. 4. As said above, not really a collector of large sets, so I'm not too sure. 5. A Halo or Doctor Who license is beyond reach, but I'd like some more sci-fi or military themes. Some collectible minifigs or items in sets would also be great, such as rock and lava monsters from Power Miners. A renewal of the Star Wars license would be great, too.
  17. Agreed. I've joined the bandwagon relatively late because it was released just a month or so ago. I will only get the three smallest sets, which is a shame because there is a lot of potential for good minifigs. I won't get any of those palace guards either, which is a shame...
  18. These are only available online, aren't they? Independence day comes to mind. I would get it if it came out in a store for obvious reasons, although the piece count will mean it is way too high for my budget.
  19. Great details. Nice use of that baseplate for the background; while it's not part of the actual MOC, it's still a nice little addition to make it more realistic.
  20. Oh, it seats two people! Never noticed that. Those pearl gold cups are great, I may take them out for my own use and replace them with something more low-tech. I finally can see what people meant by the tentacles on the back. Too bad that not all headgear will fit.
  21. Amazing. Nice colours, and great interior details.
  22. Yes, it is a bit earlier than expected, but still long overdue. Guess what? I saw them at Kmart. I'm going there tomorrow to see if they have any more new sets. It shouldn't really matter if they don't, but I've been looking for quite a while, so I've become a bit obsessed... EDIT: Hello, you're a new member.
  23. Just guessing, it's probably because it is the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back (as advertised on the front) so they decided to re-release the old style. The helmet, unfortunately, doesn't have any printing on it, which is a shame. The curves outside of the visor might be nice in black, and they didn't print the two triangles on top. Still, it doesn't really matter, as I won't get one. Not that I'm especially happy about that...
  24. Although I'm fairly likely to get this set tomorrow, just thought I'd read through a review to see what I was getting. Yes, it's a bit late, but I've finally taken an interest in this set. I prefer this over the train which should be out some time later mainly because it doesn't include duplicate figures, and is cheaper. Plus, a Stinky Pete minifig, which is great. The buildings do seem a bit random, though, and the lack of a proper interior's not great, but isn't a huge issue.
  25. I'm pretty sure they were available online here, but I hardly ever buy things from online stores. I took a quick look, but I only saw this set. I'd imagine they would have put out the Raid VPR set first, but it's a bit early for their sale. That said, I hope it's still there in two days...
