Wait, that was meant to be a sniper rifle? Oh, I get it now. Definitely changing the antenna things when I get it to being fully black now.
-
The satellites thing sounds interesting, but I'm especially interested in the interior sets. Shame they are exclusive. Do I see two astronauts in the shuttle? Yay! Even more reason to get it now.
-
Good point, but I expect there to still be potential for new sets or remakes. I don't want to stop my stormtrooper collection just yet. Still, I don't mind whichever way future sets go. I'm not too picky about which series I collect from, and I don't think Lego can possibly forget the trilogy that started the whole thing. I still agree with you on the fact that original trilogy sets will decrease.
-
While that sounds perfectly fair, a good clone-related set could have been scrapped because of this single set. No, I'm joking. I'm in need of some more original trilogy sets anyway although I do favour the prequel trilogy and clone wars sets. It sounds a bit strange, though, to have only one (or a few, anyway) original trilogy set amongst the others.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Delta 38 replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This is a bit old, but anyway... While I like most of them, I don't want to go through the hassle of trying to collect them all (especially now without barcodes). I haven't seen any of the previous two waves, so I've kind of given up on collectible minifigs in general. Hopefully we'll see some of these in actual sets or themes. -
Working clock
Delta 38 replied to nico71's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Quite interesting. I think the movement of the clock hand might be a bit too rigid, but you can't fix that in this case. Anyway, nice work. -
The space station looks cool, but it also looks big. I'll probably be skipping this set. Anyway, interesting news.
-
Looks that way to me, too. Originally, I preferred the closed helmet type, but maybe an open helmet with printed head underneath would be better because the head can be used for other things. If it is closed, though, I wonder if there's going to be an actual face or just a black head?

Good point. Then again, Australia's often behind in releases in most cases, so I wouldn't know. Well, I'll wait. It seems highly unlikely that we'll have an early release over here, but that's only my experience. The plot of this line, though, is starting to sound a bit like Atlantis. Not that I really care about the plot, and I'd prefer to see more adventure-themed lines like these anyway.
-
That seems to be right, unfortunately. The thornax launcher looks out of place there, plus the mouth isn't hinged, so I'll probably modify it to have a hinged jaw. That issue aside, I hope the rumoured earth dragon has a similar overall design to fit with the ice one. Also, I noticed that while Pharaoh's Quest is in the products list, the Ninjago website isn't. At least, when I checked it wasn't.
-
I'm guessing the website. I don't think they'll be able to release the sets in time for December, and I don't remember having seen any sets being released around that time here. Anyway, interesting. The gold headdresses we've been seeing recently all seem to have printing. I hope that the one in the cobra set has printing as well, because for some reason a plain gold headdress doesn't look right while the others do.

...What? Anyway, I see the logic in a potential revival of the Adventurers theme in different locations. I missed all of them, and would welcome them, particularly the mountain one or whatever it was. It sounds interesting. However, I'm fairly sure that they're just references to the old sets rather than a hint to the future. To contradict myself, though, Atlantis had a second phase after they found Atlantis itself, which I didn't really expect because I thought it would end upon finding Atlantis. The new wave has redesigned human stuff, which could be similar to this because it's a new location with changed stuff but the same characters.

I'm guessing that the reason why Jar Jar is there is simply because most people would just assume it's another minifig specially drawn or something and is not going to be released. I think most people should know by now that isn't the case, though. Oh no, I'm starting to become paranoid about rubber minifig heads because I didn't realise the paint might come off. I hope to get a Clone Wars Yoda some time, but I don't want the paint coming off. Couldn't they just have a solid plastic head, like the old one? I know they're different moulds entirely, but still.
-
Hmm, interesting. So far, the website seems to indicate that there are four main elements, and therefore probably only four ninja variants. We may see more, but so far it doesn't look that way. The new pieces look nice. I hope the skeleton torso/armour can be used on standard minifigs too.
-
It seems to have a rocket arm. The part of the box with the minifigs included shows a different arm on the right (the droid's left arm, that is). You can kind of see it in the main image too, but it's easier to see on the side. Speaking of which, that's good, because I don't own one. I kind of didn't notice it in the excitement about Rex though. Assuming I will get this, and I'll get a Luminara, perhaps it's time to resume the search on the Swamp Speeder over here. It's been vanishing from shelves for a while until I stopped looking altogether, but it would be nice to get Bariss to go with Luminara.
-
Yeah, same here. I don't buy stuff online in general (not yet anyway), and I much prefer to spend extra on sets than get extremely overpriced minifigs. Kind of no point, might as well get the actual set (which I usually want anyway) rather than just the minifigs.

I don't use Bricklink, but I intend to start using it in a couple of years. Nevertheless, it's too bad to lose its founder already.

With those new pictures, I'm not too worried about the Gungans' head printing now, but I still can't get used to the arms or the droid carrier. I think the design is fine, even the rack (though I might make some modifications to make it nicer, so I await someone to make a mod for deployment or something ). Still, I really don't like that colour. Normally it wouldn't be too bad, but seeing preliminary pictures where the carrier actually looked better is annoying. Yeah.
-
Urgh. Don't like the tan arms or printing on Jar Jar, or the droid carrier's colour. I'll live, but I'm glad I have two Gungans already. Now with the new bomb squad trooper legs, I want Cody to use those legs on. Perhaps he'll be released in a set with those legs, because otherwise if I do get him I'll need to take off a bomb squad trooper's legs.

Yay, new pics! I'm glad the orange arms are finally fixed. Maybe it was just my eyes playing up on me, but I was sure that I saw white arms. It also seems that the orange printing on the helmet is improved to look more diamond-shaped. The Imperial V-Wing looks much better now that I see it up close. It looks a bit thinner, though. I'm glad the pilot has been replaced with a non-visored helmet. Personally, I don't really like those open helmets. Edit: Oh hey, cool. It looks like the legs have orange printing on the front instead of being fully orange. That's nice.

I just noticed that the Halo and the shuttle both have new stickers (or hopefully printed pieces). I like the Halo's, but I'm not particularly fond of the shuttle's. Aurra Sing seems to have two of those pistols! Maybe it's just the angle though, but I do think we'll get the new pistols. As for Vos being replaced with Anakin, I'm fine with that... this time. Since I don't have Anakin yet, I'll let that slip, but once I do I'll be complaining. Shame about the bomb squad troopers' arms, but I think I might live with that.
-
Ah, I see. Well, not really. I'm almost certain that the eyes are part of larger stickers rather than being separate. Still, I guess you could modify them. They do look transparent, though, now that I think about it.
-
So that's what the Geonosis set is. It also seems to be released in the first wave! Yes! I can get Rex at last! As for that... thing, it looks a bit like one of those advanced dwarf spider droids from Republic Commando. I may have to do some large scale modifying to this. It doesn't look very durable. As for the BARC speeder, it's fairly redundant.. I'm planning to get four clone battle packs, and I don't want any more speeders. If only they could have included something more interesting... Luminara isn't a must-have for me, but Rex definitely is. Yay, I'm excited now. Oh, and is it just me, or does the droid carrier become lighter every time we see it? It started with a reddish brown, then a lighter brown, and now this. I preferred the second version.
-
Oh, really? I didn't hear of that. Well, I still prefer the normal head. Maybe there could be a sphinx made with a mummy face and the headdress, which would look much better than the current jackal head and probably even a normal human head. I don't see how it could be built accurately, though... Uh, what stickers? I don't remember seeing any bandage stickers, and I can't remember if the ones on those larger creatures were transparent...

Halloween Mini-Month Avatar Contest! VOTE NOW!

Sorry. It's fixed now. The reason why there were many frames was because I didn't want to create a seizure effect, but I avoided that by doing another method, so all fine.
