My point is that the trek reboots left old spock as the only survivor of the old timeline, everyone he had known non-existent, all the events he remembered never to happen. Not exactly a good ending for him. I don't want the Bionicle universe to be erased in the same way. I'm totally happy for this new universe to be fully its own thing. I just don't want that half-connection of the timelines that totally erase the old one.

I hope that's in the 'alternate universe' sense, and not in the 'we're going to change something in such a way that the old story never happened' sense. I wouldn't have minded the trek reboots as much is they hadn't actively aborted the old timeline, and made the characters aware that it happened. Whereas, I wouldn't be adverse to the occasional universe crossover special. two toa mata teams together? awesome.

Adrenaline mode? isn't that something from GTA? I'm just imagining Tahu yelling EXTREME!!! as he lava surfs. Why brain, why? Also, 2 moons huh? well, if this means that the new universes solar system is the same shape as the old one, that's cool. but god did it get stuck in you head with the amount of times you could enter hero mode in a single session XD. I rreeaallyy need to dig out my PS2

Whenever I try to post an image from google images, when I add the url in the image dialogue box, it won't let me click 'ok', or indeed cancel. I have to refresh the page entirely. How do I post an image I've found online? On a similar note, can't copy and paste in photos from my computer, it just prints an incredibly long URL for them, instead of displaying them in image format. What am I doing wrong. I also can't figure out how to turn some text I've written into a link. Any help is appreciated :)

It's not even the same toa, or the same Makuta! The Makuta we knew was never a Matoran-like creature, he was a puddle of goo in a mech suit. Also, the island here is almost identical to mata nui, but called Okoto, so it's safe to assume that mata nui the person probably isn't around either.

oh no, 5 pieces, as opposed to the 2 pieces the toa mata had in their legs. Some people XD Watch as random voya nui Matoran appear was background character that the fans for some inexplicable reason care about more than the main cast. :P

Yep. We've been talking about it for the past few pages, but the thread is moving so quickly I can understand if you missed it. Wasn't one of the quotes from the con earlier likening this to the star trek reboot? Oh god, that means they're gonna screw over the original timeline in some way >.<

Definitely not the orange rom HF/Bionicle, so possibly yet another new brown. On another note, I've noticed that Makuta seems much less evil this time around. There isn't an implication that we wanted to use the mask of ultimate power to enslave anyone, he just wanted the protectors to appreciate him more than his brother.... Not that that doesn't lead to evil, but it's gonna be interesting to see a Makuta who actually cares enough about Matoran opinions to be upset by them. you little...

They were probably told by lego to keep the mask gimmick obvious (hence why takua's was almost falling off, etc), but didn't want to show the face underneath. Not to mention when Lhikan gives Vakama his mask.

Wait, why is there blue on jungle protector's weapon. Don't tell me they just used the pieces from surge -_- Regarding your question LN, I think it's because they integrated the faces into the masks in the films, so it would have been weird to have a second face underneath (not to mention they would all be identical, and ugly).

If they were to just wake him up in the first year, why have him sleep at all? The weirdest part about Ekimu is... he EERILY similar to Artakha. Why didn't they just give him that name? They kept Makuta, and all the toa, yet changed things like lewa' element, and Artakha's name. Do they want to call back to the old story or not?

Whoever found his mask of control and is using it on the skull spiders is my guess.

Lewa's is the one mask I still can't really get behind. Ironically, it looks fine on his animated self. Actually, ALL of the toa would look better if they were more like their animated forms. They even made the torso printing look less ridiculous.

It's only hitting me now how overused the 'sibling betrayal' plot is. That took way longer than it should have XD. I guess it's because its actual siblings this time, and motivated by jealousy, rather than just being evil. You could literally replace Ekimu/Makuta with Mata Nui and, well... Makuta, or Celestia/Luna, or Mufasa/Scar. Not that I mind. It's one of my favourite clichés.

So according to TTV, the protectors are basically like Matoran, but the actual set ones are the leaders, like Turaga, or raanu from 2009.

I cross checked it with google images. that cloud is too uncanny to be anything else but intentional. Makes me wonder that's gonna happen with that temple of time.... :P Dat gallery. so the protectors' masks are not only dual coloured, but part solid part trans. all the money, take it.

So underneath their masks the toa are... the iron giant? I can live with that.

Bionicle is only 1 day old, and it's already sold its first mask at a ridiculous price. daddy would be proud.
