I thought you were making a joke about Bionicle's element naming system, like how they use "Sonics" instead of "sound".

Having read the last few pages, I think it's safe to say we've noticed it XD. Reminds me of the old knights' kingdom sets. Always hated how they looked under the helmets...

Greg hasn't said otherwise about anything. he told someone not to make assumptions. He wasn't trying to hint at anything. he was specifically trying to hint at nothing. he's not in a position to answer the questions that people are asking him. As long as the toa are purple, I'm fine with that.

He didn't say that either. In typical greg fashion, he found a way to dance around a question he isn't allowed to answer. The fact that the new story team even had to consult him on stuff suggests that what happened before has bearing on what happens now, so I'm still holding out hope for a continuation. Now, by that I don't mean that I want them to pick the great beings arc up where it left off or anything, I just want a new story in a universe where the old story still happened. Wearing a mask over a mask? That would really be something. It only ever happened once before that I remember, and that was in Legends of Metru Nui.

not sure what KoTOR is, but the star wars prequel films didn't follow luke and company, they followed people who were either old or dead, or on a different side in the original films. Bionicle is still following the mata, who, last time I checked, were all still alive and the good guys, and always had been.

Honestly, a prequel would be dull, knowing the eventual fate of all the major characters concerned already, and indeed, the entire truth of the matoran universe. A continuation however, would allow them to actually add more to it, maybe actually develop spherus magna a little.

Not sure if you're joking or not. Nothing he said there confirmed anything in any way. Although the way he answered suggests that he IS involved with the new BIONICLE in some way.

That doesn't sound like " a mask that will grant its bearer unspeakable power. "

I think they probably only said "magic" and indeed "gold" so as to give a simple explanation on the facebook page. The phrase "there is a mask with really advanced technology made out of a metal called protosteel" doesn't have quite the same ring to it. Hopefully, in time, we'll get an explanation behind the mask, as we did with all the others, but for now, they seem to be simplifying for the sake of newcomers. I do hope that this new mask attatchment doesn't mean the masks flip up though. I hated the idea that they all had identical faces under the masks. The masks WERE the faces to me. The head underneath was always akin to a skull in my mind.

I fail to see how the nuva symbols would be relevant, if this were set before even the mata storyline. BUT, since this is Artahka's mask, maybe the nuva symbols came from him, and not the other way around. Also, thinking about the mask connection, is they attatch at the sides, why are there big ugly round holes on the front of the masks that look like injection points? EDIT: is this does turn out to be a reboot, I suggest we call is BIONICLE: NUVA.

Having just looked at BZP's post on it, I just noticed, the new Bionicle logo seems to have the same writing on it as the mask of creation does.... The plot thickens...

While the mention of magic, and the suggestion that the mask is made of gold, do make me worry about simplification of the story, the fact that this is in fact the mask of creation pleases me. I just hope that this is a continuation, but, if that were the case, one wonders who could possible relieve Artakha of his mask. :/ The specialised attatchment points are also a bit disappointing, as this means the masks can only really attatch to the new head and nothing else. Hopefully an axel was just removed from the cgi for the sake of aesthetics. But what the hell, BIONICLE'S BACK!! also, hype toa terrain crawler is best hype vehicle.

There's no proof that they've dropped the name Toa. The word wasn't included on this team's canisters until the Phantoka. It could easily still exist in story. I hope so, as master is incredibly generic, and suggests a level of experience some future toa may not have.

If that's how the toa end up being built, my fears about the size of the backpack and the look of the exposed balljoints are well and truly eased, That torso looks great.

I believe it's because a doctor who set has been gaining popularity on Lego ideas recently. But honestly, ideas sets get confirmed all the time. Lego wouldn't make a huge announcement out of another one, no matter how popular doctor who may be, so there's no legitimate reason for them to think that it was a candidate for this.

They're just in denial because they don't want there precious bricks sullied by some "kiddy action figures" Personally, I never understood why one would choose to build a house over building a biomechanical warrior, but to each their own I guess.

Ninjago and Chima both had links at the same time as Bionicle, we just haven't talked about them here. Lego "tricking" leakers does nothing, as the pictures are already out there. Lego would want to make an official announcement to stop all the discussion about Bionicle being from leaked preliminary images that they didn't want seen in the first place, I would imagine. Tricking anyone at this point is futile, too much has already been leaked.

considering the name of the countdown announcement picture, I can't see it being anything else. No matter what some people say, I highly doubt lego would ever deliberately mislead people. It's of no benefit to them.

We could dangle a large net out of the side and just sweep up anyone on the platform I guess :/ btw, I hope peoples' theorizing about how he gear functions are constructed are correct, because if so, it looks like they gear backpack will take up much less space than I previously thought.

So do davros and the borg queen. Honestly though, I highly doubt that Pohatu being silver is any sort of reference. Lego probably just doesn't want to make recolours (idk how expensive that is, but I would assume any difference in cost is enough to make them try to avoid it).

all the sets have yellow on them. for some reason, it's Lego's go-to colour for denoting an area of a set that has a function. All the gear systems, including the defenders' small ones, have yellow in them somewhere. The yellow on Gali's weapon suggests it probably spins or something. But yeah, the silver on Pohatu is a shame. Vorox made me hungry for tan back in 09, and that hunger has yet to be satisfied.

All discussed in the last few pages, but yeah, we're pretty positive they have gear functions. pohatu's arm is attatched to a technic assembly on his back, instead of to his torso. Also, all the protectors seem to have white or grey heads, but coloured eyes, so hopefully a 2 piece head.

I can't for the life of me figure out how the protectors' gun is supposed to work. The gear clearly shows that you spin it to get it to fire, but I can't imagine how that would work :/ Also, the piece in the middle of Kopaka's shield makes it look like that's meant to spin too.
