  1. You can probably sit a minifig on the PF IR receiver. 9V would be the better to run all day and night around the Christmas tree because I hate batteries option.
  2. Maybe those designers assume you have nephews and nieces coming over to play LEGO. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/86174-show-us-your-working-placelego-room/
  3. Back when I was in that position, I opted to keep my old sets intact and disassembled my new sets for MOCs. I bought new sets or parts to add to the MOCing pile when funds permitted.
  4. Has anyone tried 85zz bearings with Technic axles? Looks like the Technic brick holes need to be enlarged to 8mm? Or 3D print a compatible holder?
  5. It seems to glow under the UV light of my bug zapper.
  6. The new drivers are LEGO plastic. You can make blind drivers from the flanged ones. It is easier to grind down plastic than metal.
  7. I think having the left and right wheels being able to roll independently of each other would be useful in reducing wear and tear around curves. We have a barely R40 able steam engine that we run at our events for a few years now. The fixed technic axle drivers have grooves worn into the flanges where they rub against the rails in the curves.
  8. Used LEGO used to be a good bargain before the LEGO Movie came out. I don't recall anything gross, just dirty.
  9. Nice. What kind of material is it made with?
  10. Metal can chew plastic depending on how it is used. I bought one of the metal axles to broach axle holes in 3D printed parts.
  11. Here's an adapter that can be 3D printed: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2238102
  12. Seek out sales and deals. Invest in a warehouse for storage and display space.
  13. Why is neon yellow so hard to photograph without screwing up the exposure?
  14. Running through switches can also be problematic. Although there is a particular audience out there at train shows that enjoys seeing derailments and crashes.
  15. Looks nice.
  16. It would be awesome if the huge wheels are available on lugbulk.
  17. I think the 1x2 jumpers and 1x4 provide a track width of 45mm. G-scale??
  18. Would using a cam and gravity work like in the LEGO Friends 41374 Andrea's Pool Party set ?
  19. You can find bare 27MHz RC receiver and transmitter boards on Aliexpress.com for cheap.
  20. They could switch to making toys out of wood. That's more green and sustainable? You can compost them or make woodchips for your garden. Sounds you need a bigger residence. I do all my displaying at events. At home, they just sit in transport storage bins awaiting the next show.
  21. I don't know about that. I had a job making auto parts. Every now and then something goes horribily wrong inside the CNC machine. You open the CNC chamber door and scream, Oh my god!
  22. Those scales are awesome. We use them sort out the LUGBULK orders.
  23. If they don't have the mising part of old out of production set in stock, you're basically SOL. Try BrickLink, eBay, etc. It's like trying to fix an old car when the manufacturer's parts are NLA.
