  1. ok, seems I saved it: http://www.wc3c.net/vexorian/HF/
  2. He is calling you another adjective that is translated automatically by the forum software into megabloks which imo is a worse insult :)
  3. look what I found in brickshelf... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=452185 Edit: On second thought I am not sure if it is fanwork or not. Still shows some details, I guess. Edit: found this: http://mylegonetworkblog.blogspot.com/2010/11/hf-game-ordeal-on-fire-available.html I think the images are ripped from a HF web game.
  4. This would actually be great. They could add bricks to match the figs. A whole theme made of impulse sets that are very varied, would be cool. You know, the only way for this suggestion to make sense would be to make everything truly random keeping the proportions. Buying a box will still be a huge advantage. If you want to somehow penalize buying a whole box by making each have biases towards a single different fig, well, this will pretty much screw all the children that go to only one score and benefit the AFOLS that have more money. They will just need to buy 5 boxes instead of one.I don't get why should we care or worry that much about children. Once again, I got to say that children are happy enough because they don't have to work for the money used to buy their minifigures. Oh, and once they get the minifigures, what will happen? They will put them in a bin full of mixed pieces including megablox. Then leave them at the mercy of their 3 years old brother. Only to end up giving them away 5 years later when they enter their dark age. Speaking about the children. They are probably the ones that enjoy the randomization the least. They couldn't figure the tricks like the barcodes or the dots. And most of these guys will just cry in disappointment if they get a tennis player instead of the gorilla they wanted.
  5. Just in case, I meant to say "see through". Seriously, it is clear that for some reason they themselves need to know the figure inside the bag. But as long as there is a method that allows them to know it, people will find the method as well. They should just give up, really. Make every fig equally likely, with no blind package and they could even charge 0.5 extra for that, most people would prefer it.
  6. This set is great. I can foresee kids that get it falling in love with LEGO and getting hooked for life. Their souls will be doomed for an ethernity. As for AFOLs, it has stuff that would appeal to basically anyone. The sci-fi in me could use it as a base for a Protoss captain ersatz. Town guys could use it for a museum or a strip club and the car... It is easily adaptable for historical egypt and of course action theme people would just be happy. Heh, even the bionicle freak in me is loving the scorpion. But the price... the price is awful. Why TLG, why?
  7. Bah LEGO should just give up and make series 4's packages non-see through-
  8. Yesterday I was going to post that maybe the Sphinx has some sort of functionality and that's the reason it looked so odd in pics. Seems I was right. That's interesting. I don't like it, but somehow I think kids will love it.
  9. I am surprised they picked the fisherman. I mean, it is not a robot or a cheer leader. I seriously doubt many people will pay 60 dollars for him (that's the expected amount of money you will have to spend to get him). Hoarders will win this one. All figs should be equally likely, really. Note that even if the probability was even you would need 54.0917 purchases on average to get a complete set, which is still a lot... Perhaps the optimal would be, 8 figs per series and all equally likely. But it is not like TLG cared... I answered this question in the other post. You will need 20 purchases on average to get a specific fig of the second tier of rare figs (ie: space pirate, elf).In real life though, unless you are buying online, you could probably feel the contents. I think the elf is around the easiest to feel through, with the shield and the bow...
  10. Average random bags before you get : One of each: 61.6506 bags (It is much better to either cheat by feeling the contents or get a whole box). One of the most common figs (5 per box): 12.0 purchases One of the second most common figs (4 per box): 15.0 purchases One of the second rarest figs (3 per box): 20.0 purchases. A fisherman : 30.0 purchases. An alien and a space pirate: 24.5 purchases. Yeah, the difficulty to get a complete set has turned worse than last series, plus there are no barcodes anymore...
  11. I think I found your folder: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=452165 You should delete the image you posted in Eurobricks so that you don't lose your 150K upload quota later. Thanks for the pics. It seems this set is a must for people that wanted a historical egypt. The pharao gold mask and the pyramid are easily adaptable to something historical.
  12. You can still feel the contents. With things like the elf, the gorilla, the alien and the space pirate it should be fairy easy. Hey, even the fisherman should make it easy if you get to feel the rod. But I don't think he said 'sealed'
  13. To me, they don't seem more detailed any other fig released the last 5 years.
  14. Kids can eat it. They have parents that can buy them LEGO stuff. We have to pay for our own things. And work to get that money. And what do children do once they get their free LEGO? They byte it, or they lose the parts, or they trade them with some smart friend thinking that the "ultra trix bouncing ball from space" is better. So, screw children!
  15. lol, the gorilla's head makes it all worth it. I am not sure I like the "space pirate"'s color scheme. Somehow think it would been much better if the arm, gun and leg were black, silver or even white, but not gun mental...
  16. I think Creator sets are meant to be more blocky, so using log bricks would have been more suitable for another theme. This way the house will also be a good pack of brown bricks and that's good.
  17. I know we are not supposed to interchange minifig arms, yet we all do. It is particularly disappointing to me if collectable figs arms were noninterchangeable with noncollectable because it would mean that the blacktron torso in series 3 will always have a cyborg arm.
  18. Where did you get the yellow bionicle shields from? Peeron does not agree they exist.
  19. I don't know. There are no other reports of this and 'battlepack' sounds dubious. I am not sure what lifestyle is. But it could as well be that he saw old sets in the catalog and did not pay much attention (cares more about pirates). He could have actually seen Raid VPR ... I mean, discusting green and a fig that looks like a power miner...
  20. The skeletons ride the tank and the bike. Not the ninjas. Historical ninjas are out of fashion in the food chain of cool. Mythical super hero ninjas are more popular nowadays. It makes no sense, and that's basically what TLG intends to do with these sets. Specially ninja go is completely aimed at kids with that game thing. AFOLs can always reuse the ninja figs and the designs. The Dojo is awesome and easily transformable into something historical. I, for one will likely get the vehicles.
  21. I went to the store to check if the 2010 space police sets arrived. They didn't, but I could not resist the impulse to buy a series 1 polybag, specially because there were only 4 left. Which confirms that collectible minifigs are a ploy to make me spend money everytime I go to the store just to see. I got a wrestler. Which is very lucky seeing how he was the only fig on my series 1 wanted list I was yet to get and I did not use bar codes.
  22. I hate you . But I would have gotten the exo toa instead of the robo riders.
  23. I feel sorry for this person. He is either in huge economic trouble or he got tired of LEGO and that's after possibly a whole life of doing it. Yes and no. Note the collection is sorted. I also bet cost includes the containers. From a guy that has been purchasing bulks of unsorted LEGO for the last year. I got to say sorted LEGO is worth 10 times more than unsorted LEGO :). Plus seeing the kind of collection he is got, I bet the bricks are in good conditions. Bulks of unsorted LEGO are cheap but that's because bulks of unsorted LEGO are garbage until you sort and wash and get rid of all the trash that tends to appear in them (megabloks, other toys, etc). And sorting all the bulks of LEGO you would have to buy in crag list to match this amount is gonna take you years. It also includes the instruction binders and 3500 minifigs. Even at one dollar the fig, that's 3500 dollars. I honestly don't think you can find a better deal than this if you have 20000 USD and want to instantly boost (boost for real) the size of your collection. (unless there is fraud involved, I guess). But of course, how many people actually are in that condition? Most of the people with that combination of money and urges for LEGO probably already have a big enough collection and would rather spend in sets. If I was him I would put it all on bricklink and wait to see what happens. Overall I think the earnings would be better to sell things individually instead of all together.
  24. Well, I hope not, it is still too early after Mars Mission to make me want to have that theme again.
  25. I think we all know who Jenny is, but we don't want to talk about it not to ruin the surprise for people that haven't found out yet. If I wasn't on an assignment right now I would go through all the strips looking for Jenny stalking. Hey, I might actually do it anyway. Wow, I wonder if that was actually intended. But I guess KDog can always choose to make it intended if it wasn't.
