I don't get how you guys manage to count the number of parts used in the torsos by just seeing pictures. Anyway, I do think that even two parts for a torso are too little, they should use 5 or 10 ... We are AFOLs anyway :) The story and names are just devices to sell to kids we just care about the sets and honestly, I think I am going to buy 3 explodes, one for display and other two ones to make nuclear MOCs ^^ Edit: Von Nebula and Rotor still look like win so far with the slight resolution increase. I wonder when are we gonna get good pics of them...

BTW, always take note of things like post counts and join dates when somebody makes a post like that... Normal scheme is to google for opponent bussiness and then post contrary posts in the forum where they speak about it... This sounds interesting, might save my life.Right now I have a person that is a US resident and also this country's citizen that continuously comes back to this country. He has made a whole bussiness out of bringing stuff from US at the same time as he comes here for bussiness. But charges kind of expensive so I only use him for things that cannot be found in here. Hopefully shipit will be a good saving... Edit: hmmn seems assisted purchase is so full of fees that only a purchase of a product worth 400 USD purchase would be worth it :/

Lego Design By Me/Digital Designer problem
vexorian replied to jamzee's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Try updating your GPU driver. It is opengl and I'd guess your graphics card either has the required 32 MB or is one of those that use RAM. So it should be fine spec-wise. Most likely it is your driver's version, just update. -
I hope it is printed as stickers are evil and I really want the biohazard symbol to last. (you can remove printed stuff manually if you want anyway)

It seems they are not mechas :( It also seems that LEGO ditching bionicle was just to get rid of all the extra costs involving its marketing style, cause set-wise these guys could have easily been a new kind of toa. (love the different color schemes though) Something that gives me bad vibes is the thing in their chests. Meltdown looks cool.

Sorry but focusing on canisters is such a silly mistake. Even so the toa mata were more varied. But I do not refer to torsos and canisters when I say that in 2001 the bionicle sets were cooler than in 2009. I refer to boxes. Each Rahi was unique and didn't actually use torsos. There are aeons of differences between the Exo-toa and Makuta. And they all come with functionality, specially the torsos. Compare it with the 2006-2008 titans, although cool they all function the same and are only different in the external parts. So, I am sorry but I don't give canisters that much of an importance when I compare years or lines the canisters are really the low end of the line and have always meant to be. Unless you count the turaga which were really promotional stuff sent into pharmacies... Well, I was just getting nostalgic about a time in which bionicle was actually part of technic and the titans/Rahi (big bionicle boxes) contained cool functionality from a technic stand-point. Was also ranting that nowadays technic is just cars. I know that they are likeable by many but that is really the reason there is so much apathy towards technic (it is not hatred, people just don't care about it -which is worse probably - ). Something else I miss about those awesome technic times is the Destructor Droid :( .

Seems cool. I remember having tons of fun with knex before knowing LEGO. That minifig seems a little angry he is getting used along with non-LEGO products though ... hmnn.

Children are not really that naive you know? At least these last generations are not. Anyway, I did notice the fantasy in the medieval LEGO and well, I think we've had skeletons a good long ago. But I am fairy sure that 15 years ago, we already had a lot of dragons in the sets. I remember back then my brother got a dark knight castle that came with wizard and a Dragon and that in that year the castle sets were focused on dragons... At least town/city has remained realistic. I also think that creator is doing a good job at makign the sets very flexible a-la old school. Well, I just don't see how the troll battleship couldn't become a bad guys' battle ship by just removing the trolls and putting bad knights on it? Edit: I also find it hard to believe the old castle was really that historical. Unless we had sets like "escape the plague", " Well, if we were to have a truly realistic medieval lego line we will begin seeing set names like 'escape from the plague', or 'guillotine" or "War for Jerusalem II" :/

I don't see a soul in monsters that all look the same. I left bionicle once they sold out and made the canisters become clones of everything but before that there was a time in which each of them was unique. Specially the non-canister sets , the titans and the Rahi in which pressing a part of the set would make it viciously attack... Because they actually had a practical use for the technic pieces beyond things like decorative gears they add to technic cars to make it look like they had a motor... Same with real lego bricked-themes, they work well because they can use the technic pieces to make something awesome for gameplay. Instead of just a car. I mean, the most interesting functionality I got from technic cars was the motor thing and also the steering, beyond that they weren't able to have much more... I guess maybe the bigger sets are more interesting function-wise, but 8465 was really expensive enough ... There are sets in other themes much bellow its price that are a lot more interesting... I just think technic pieces do a much better job at things like making the Spyrius robot's arms poseable or at making the boxor's boxing function. If you like your cars, go ahead and like them, but don't assume the other themes are poor or that people don't love technic because they don't understand its functions...

It is not like pokemon. The first large bionicle sets until possibly 2004 were full of technic stuff and funcitonality. The exo-toa is a joy to build... I like technic pieces and mechanism but as a theme, technic seems so dull... I mean, cars and maybe with luck planes or helicopters, all over and over again... I did own large technic sets and although interesting to build, they are just a car and a bike :/ where's the soul in that :) ?

The sets look fine. But I really concern about quality. I think MB sets in here are merely 1/2 of the cost, and if the plastic quality is not good I doubt it would be worth it. The minifigs look completely out of place. I dunno, if I wanted to play/buy dolls I would just do it. the figs kind of ruin the buildable toy feeling. (And imho many licensed LEGO figs have the same issue) LEGO better be careful though, since MB can only use old parts they are less prone to using the huge inflexible parts that LEGO sometimes makes the mistake of abusing...

Ok, so it is Skrall star's foot and an old McToran head. But I don't get why is it mind blowing?
-
Toy Story looks promising since it has potential to have many possible settings and situations.

According to peeron which imported my brickset list: Totals: 53 Sets (49 unique), 6,951 Parts, $885.75, 43 Minifigs.
-
It is not that true. I agree with some parts but I strongly disagree about "when a piece is missing the whole set becomes useless" I think we can agree that's not true. The good thing about lego is that even with the worst sets, a half a set is still useful and you can build things or combine with your other half sets... instead of other toys in which half a toy is rubbish...

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
vexorian replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd love spyrius to come back as foes to space police. It could be a couple of sets in which the criminals have robots, a small one and a 'giant' one. Could combine the new mecha style with the old tank style, would be nice! -
I hate ben 10 but would like LEGO to have success with his licenses just like anybody else. I really think they should avoid the Galidor pitfall. Though minifigs could be a little inappropriate for lack of articulation. IMHO they should take the construct-a-buzz approach! That thing is amazing since the flexibility of real lego bricks is combined with articulation...

Heh this is so nice. I might buy it just for the chuckle of building green plastic army men using LEGO.

I really like the original color scheme. Liked the looks for it until I saw that the back had no window... that's a real blunder. The good thing is that it is a creator set, so really, nice one overall.
