Why would it? So far, no theme that is not licensed uses flesh colored minifigs, and in a way the yellow faces come from TLGs good intentions so it is unlikely they will be used in non-PotC pirate sets. I dislike the flesh colored figures because they are incompatible with everything else. I would not like a non-licensed theme to start using them.

Note however, that although I am excessively biased towards space, I am also biased against bases, so it evens out.

I'd go for the AT&T simply because it is more iconic. That increases its appeal to me at least, and I think that also makes it more likely to become harder to find later.

Well thanks. I think display is my top priority right now and I like any set that looks like a robot or a space ship. So after your posts and seeing more and more pics I decided for it. However, I was just about to buy the set , when I ended up getting Iron Condor and an orange tank instead. I am not sure why. But I am getting buyer remorse already. Except I already built the Iron Condor and I like it. I think I might end up getting the giant spider anyway. It seems that the 2010 SP3 sets are not coming to my town :( That will open up a lot of space...

I think the most important changes in the villains are the light used when rendering and the pose. They seem almost the same as before. Even fire lord.

I just think that if LEGO star wars wasn't around, we would have more LEGO space themes and more sets in them. Without any George Lucas tax... I like LEGO star wars, but I like it more for the LEGO part than the Star wars part.

ok the new joints really just make this robot into a must-have-two-or more kind of model to me. It seems like a great way to get them. Plus the robot itself is very cute. Creator robots tend to have this retro look that makes them quite good for display. I have this set: And I think both would look really nice together. I think though that somehow the robot is shorter than what it looks like in the box.

The sphinx's box is huge in comparison to the set. If that trait is shared with other PQ sets, That's not going to look good for pricing in countries that include shipping costs :(

He is probably doing a hamburger delivery.

I think wikia does not allow hotlinking So these are the links: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/File:Samoca.png http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/File:Garmadon.png

Many sets weren't in the catalog and there are still some themes we do not have confirmed sets of (PotC) brickset is by now the best bet, I think.

Hehe, Schwartz finally got his kick the dog moment. Don't get mad at him though, because he is able to knock down galanos with a kick to the face even though Galanos was wearing a helmet.

I just found a retailer with a LEGO sale and some 2008 sets. Which means that there is 7707 and 7706 for 42.5 and ~49 USD respectively. This is considering that sales are unheard of in this place and that the prices usually stay at 1.42 times the US retailer price. So these sets would have been 71.0 USD two years ago. I am thinking of striking venom because it looks really great in the pics. Considering that this money could be used in newer sets, would you do it?

Hey nice set. I think I will get it if only to encourage the usage of printing. I could also really use those black exo force arms. -

100 dollars? I could buy a scopion's pyramid with that... -
What's the difference between minifig packs and impulse sets? Do minifig packs use cheaper plastic?

I don't even want to think of what the guy was planning to do with the asokas.

Well if Brad Pitt was more into classic LEGO than AFOL architecture sets, then maybe.

I'll just say I see no reason to think they will change the Bill Dozer storyline. It is typical in hero stuff and there really was no reason to include it in the retailers' catalogs if they weren't serious about it. I am doing the same. The First villain pictures are cut (They do not show the villains in their entirety), and even the highest res version of the catalog is not as good in resolution. The pics in the site are simply more finalized, hard to explain but the graphics are sharper.. You couldn't really pick on the villain's details and colors with the old pics. Even though they are in the same pose and use the same pieces. I don't know... I don't think the villains are going to change much or at all now.
-
Bill Dozer being Drill Dozer is almost a given. Well they are not exactly the same. This ones have better resolution (were made for computer display rather than print) and in case of the villains they are no longer cut. They are less preliminary than the old ones. After seeing these pics, I don't think the villains are going to change that much. didn't pay much attention to nitroblast because he doesn't have a detailed cgi pic and only the box. But that's right, those pieces are likely not to be hero cores. Which is something I don't like seeing how they seem to be used in the same red color in three of the villains. Add some variety TLG...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion

The best answer against people that buy whole boxes is to stop making the bags random. -
Oh, it seems they are just copy pasted from the old preliminar pics we have seen before. At first I thought they were the final CGI. Edit: on second thought, I can see differences between furno's new pic and the stuff from the catalog. Yeah they are new. First time I've seen the confidential sign on top of what looks to be the final cgi. Then again, I am still new here. It seems there is going to be a code in the canister you can put in the internet. Hope the goodies are something better than what we had in glatorian times. Anyway the villains have not improved as much as I hoped. The highlights I think are the trans armor in firelord and jetbug but from the looks of it, it is going to be neon orange instead of the new, better looking trans orange. Drill dozer pretty clearly has something that looks like a hero core. Evo has dark blue and not purple. Fire lord is a mess. It seems they are trying a titan build using the new HF 2.0 parts. But that concept is still very young, so they are basically starting from 0 instead of using old Bionicle ideas. This will get better in later sets but for now it seems that fire lord will be remembered for not getting it right. Oh and Fire lord seems to have the odd "hero core" piece from Drill Dozer as well. We already know (quite clearly) that Drill Dozer used to be a HF robot, so take your guess...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion

Doh. Trans purple being so rare, I guess I'll have to get more and more Aliens. You can have all the elves you want, I am keeping the blacktron and aliens. Is the tennis player the most badass female minifig head in history? Because it is clearly the most badass head overall in all three series. -
I remember I saw all four villains, but it seems I forgot to save drilldozer from brickshelf last night. Sorry.
