LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
vexorian replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
There were no sci-fi figs in series 2, then we had two in series 3 and arguably 2 in series 4... -
Tan skeletons. TAN SKELETONS!! Although I am not sure what to think about the "Exclusive" word in that red circle. I hope the set is available... I am noticing NinjaGo has too many of these exclusive things. It would be such a turn off if half the theme is not available in most stores ... Edit: Now I bet that set is going to be popular among AFOLs. It has the skellies, but also, take a look at it, there is nothing in it that reminds you of the undead, technocrat enemies. This set would work 100% as a historical training place.

I found a used Killer Croc minifig in the flee market today. I just casually bought it at 71 US cents while buying other stuff from the stand (figured it was a monster from some theme and would be useful for custom minifig aliens). Then at home I was just trying to figure out what minifig it was, and ended up in shock after seeing its bl price

Well, the larger bricks do have LEGO logos on them. I have a couple of small joints, they have a circle that is technic compatible, but the circle looks different. There is also the most odd purple quadruple joint, it does not have any technic socket. but a square thing. Everything would be easier if I had a camera near me, I guess. Something I noticed about these joint pieces is that the plug, although square shaped, supports LEGO bricks, the quadruple purple thing is actually a pretty cool SNOT piece and I think a good base for a small droid MoC, if it is really LEGO, though. Edit: Ok, it seems the pieces are from SNAP. look: The purple bricks in that pic are like the one I found, it admits bricks on its squarely plugs and it also allows a 1x1 brick inside its square like hole. That's a interesting piece..., too bad it doesn't have a LEGO logo >( Also found a black wheel which seems similar to the stuff in pictures, at first I threw it as clone because it does not have logos or anything to recognize it. But after seeing the pics, I noticed it. Edit: here it is:

It will most likely be a movie.

Today I found some Znap bricks in the bulk of parts I bought. I would have almost have put them in the Knex bag if I didn't notice that the plastic was much better and took a look to the LEGO logos in the larger bricks. I think they would be useful for bionicle stuff actually o_O. But well, the thing is that the small joints that were used to connect some of the ZNap I found thing to other things, do not have any LEGO logo on them. In fact, I think I may have dismissed them as non-LEGO stuff in previous occasions in which I sorted random bulks... I am not sure if my pieces are from Znap. Do Znap joints come with LEGO logos somewhere? If not, is there a way to differentiate them from Knex or bootlegs?

Seems a tad small That's probably a good thing. It seems fairy reproduce-able if we find the instructions, except for the orange wing. For such a nice set. I just need to find a lot of white bricks...

They probably reduce the sales on impulse sets as well.

TRU Ninjago release event
vexorian replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
So, you mean there is a practical use for sons? I gotta consider getting one The sticker is probably beneficial this time because the logo is an advert, this way you can use the piece for something other than advertising ninjago. -
I have a robot, I love it and it was very hard to get it. Your story will give me nightmares, sir. Speaking of which, the little droid in that catalog shot is seriously nostalgia fuel. Very nice review. The straight angles in this set... You get to miss those things.

Anyone knows if the combiners' instructions are around? I think combining a hero with himself may be a good way to get something without the back screw up
-
Were you seriously expecting 40 for the Dragon? It seems fairy small and will have low piece count, even for a 20 sets. It is a great set, but I am not sure if I will have the money to include it in my budget considering the usual pricing I get for stuff that are 20 USD in the US (around 28 ish)

The ninjas are pretty broken though. I hope it is TRU at work in there because I cannot picture parents even bothering to buy them at 10 the unit.

The clone brands discussion...again
vexorian replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Every brand that uses LEGO's brick dimensions, copies the interlocking, adds minifigures and presents itself as a competitor, and designs its own sets and parts is a LEGO clone. Brands that altogether copy LEGO's (or a clone brand's) designs with most likely very low quality plastic and awful color variations are boot legs. Companies that make new molds but are advertised as an extension/customization to LEGO are customs. -- Kiddicraft just made a couple of brick things but LEGO made the bricks into the interlocking good with a whole construction system including SNOT pieces, accessories and minifigs that it is today. New, superior minifigs featuring: The uncanny valley, a lack of building, lack of usability of a fig's pieces elsewhere, the same resistance to damage any low tier action figure has and a level of detail that makes them look out of place whenever they are next to anything brick built! -
I for one am hoping they have a couple of giant mechs for the next wave.
-
That master minifig completely humilliates exo-force's master.
-
Yeah, it is almost like a case of occidentallitys. Although it is weird that the skeletons have monster trucks, bikes and tanks...

The "windmill" could be from PotC by the way. There is a incoming PoTC set called "The Mill" Edit: I finally found the bit of info that started the rumor. since that post specified that it was a Wind mill and it also mentioned animals then I think it has nothing to do with PotC. Though I wonder how come that set was spotted that long ago and we don't have any preview pic.

Quite clearly, blacktron went so to the background that mainstream information sources like LEGO.com do not even mention them. There are just these guys working under the radar. The guy from the collectable minifigs and Wrench are examples. In regards to that, he does not look like the Blacktron leader, he looks more like a possible Dragon.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
vexorian replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Actually, if TLG ever manages to make the bag contents truly unidentifiable then buying a box will be a much better option if you want a complete set. It guarantees two sets. Meanwhile, if I remember correctly, doing random purchases you would need around 59.something purchases of series 1 and 2 minifigs and for series 3 it was larger than 60 in average before you get a complete set... -
whats up with these legs?
vexorian replied to exon_from_youtube's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Whatever the change, if it changes the visual look of the legs piece I would have to start a holy war against the change. I wouldn't oppose to an articulation upgrade if they managed to make the legs look the same, but otherwise... -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 poll
vexorian replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
You just don't stop to think how much your space mini-figs needed a safety suit until you learn that the suit is going to be available. And it goes well also with all the monsters we've had so far in the collectible minifigs series as well. Imagine a couple of these running away from zombies or aliens or mimes, it just has endless possibilities. -
Have there ever been calendars for action themes? I think even a collectable minifigs cadvent calendar sounds more likely.
-
Even M:Tron would be better than the current 2011 rumors. But I want spyrius more than Blacktron as a matter of fact...

Speaking of which, you only need green exo-force hair, the space pimp from SP3 and the mime's happy face to get a joker's clone in case you couldn't find the joker in time.
