LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
vexorian replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Time is longer for Kids , but kids seek novelty. I really think that keeping 4 series per year but making each have 8 figs will be best. Kids will still get to experience novelty 4 times a year. And the figures will be easier to collect. Whether you want all X figs or just 1, collecting becomes much easier the lower X gets. I really think that this will also help TLG not to run out of ideas as easily. For now, it is just 4 series, but think what would happen in 2012 with other 64 minifigs, that's 64 ideas to have. And although repeats are nice with variations, there is just so many variations you can find before the whole idea and not just the figure gets old. After the removal of bar codes, it is not going to be possible to just focus on getting a single figure. -
Nail paint removal liquid works after you rub for a while. Beware smelling it though.

I wonder if he meant GREY helmet and put purple on it because he was thinking about something purple. They did replace space for star wars... for EIGHT YEARS. Ok, maybe less than eight years, but it seemed as much to me.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 poll

Yes, but the spaceman's parts are less specialized, and a little more generic, which makes up for the lack of coolness. -
Classy ninja? There is no such thing!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 poll

Space villain, just too useful with the trans yellow visor, black helmet in the new mold (which I cannot describe how useful and awesome this helmet is) and the blacktron torso was just a cruel move, I can picture TLG saying "We'll just put a blacktron logo in there just so all space fans have to buy it, muahahaha". Series 1 is still the best. The robot is better than the alien, even though the spaceman is tied with the villain. But more importantly, series 1 had clowns and cavemen. Series 2 was lackluster with the lack of sci-fi, and just the mime is not going to do it. Series 3 is cool, but not as cool as series 1. More series? Yes, but I really think that if TLG is planning to do four series a year, they should seriously begin having only 8 figs per series. It would make it MUCH easier to complete a series, but most importantly, it won't saturate the market. The idea of having four series next year sounds scary if they are going to be 16 minifigs per series. If things stay that way. TLG will run out of ideas too quick and there will be too many minifigs, making collecting all the figs in each series too much of an expense per year. -
I have no idea what those guys that pilot the empire ships are called, and bricklink called them shadow troopers hence my mistake. Anyway, I always wanted one of those :)

Imperial V-wing Starfighter I don't know, I just love it, plus I have always wanted a shadow trooper.

That empire ship <3

Meh, I might get that just because of the tank wheels.

Could be a different skateboarder to contrast the old one. Perhaps with helmet and knee protectors. -
I actually think those last pics are Dacta sets. Edit: Oh, brickset classifies them as "Bricks and more" sets.
-
Gosh dash *! Why does LEGO have to keep making Sets that I have to forcefully buy? Can't they give my wallet some respect!? The bastards.
-
That's ninjago and WTF indeed. Thanks for the link, these pics are great.

Maybe they meant it to be a Rahi like Keetongu. But then bionicle's cord was cut and they had to think of where to put it to keep the promise. But I like the theory about they knowing about the switch to HF since mid 2009 better.

I decided to go to my local store. And with all the assertiveness I did not use in the last 10 years, I asked the lady if I could use my bar code sheet. Finally got the Spaceman and the Robot (which I think is very lucky considering how there were only 8 series 1 bags tops. Then I picked a random series 2 bag, unfortunately, I got a duplicated witch (I guess I should have used the bar codes).

The Hero sets are supposedly impulse sets, replacing the old matoran and meant for the lower part of the age range. The 4 larger villain sets are more complicated. They do have pins. However, they have significantly simpler builds than the Canister sets from Bionicle. The 2 large sets (Rotor and Nebula) do seem to have good technic love. The vehicles probably more but they are too expensive for me to try.

Hey I actually won something. Pretty excited about that promo set. Did you know those orange pincers are unique to that set? Well, at least according to peeron. Although my MoC looks a little funny standing so close to the awesome winning entries.

The clone brands discussion...again
vexorian replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I really see no difference between clone brands and custom makers sans their advertisement models. And that was before that lamp thing. I think that as time progresses, our custom makers will get more and more into clone brand territory with time. Quality? There are good and bad clones, there are good and bad customs. -

My store has Series 1 and 2 minifigs and I cannot use a bar code scanner because of how the box is kept out of reach until you request to get it. Feeling the contents is also hard to do. At least they allow you to pick specific bags. So I tried MEMORIZING the bar code. Which did not end well, because apparently the Cheer leader's barcode is quite a lot like the Robot's . I ended up with a cheer leader, yay. -

I wish this A and B stuff would be used everywhere and bags would come in two packages. This would make up for the lack of bar codes. I would for example get only B bags... -

To me the cyborg I hope I get three of them. The alien is all right but not a must. I am getting a little discouraged though, because even though availability has not been an issue, I am yet to see a space man or a robot. Keep getting series 1 stuff I don't want (curse them forest men ). -
And two minifig series 1. Forestman (dupe ) and the Caveman ( )
