  1. Ben 10 parts are great actually. And if you consider things up, the HF 2.0 sets are using the same feel. The problem with Ben 10 is the price but that's another discussion, it seems they bombed in sales for that reason.
  2. Gender: Male Occupation/print on torso: Heel wrestler (bad guy rival for the original wrestler) I would go with black shirt thingies or maybe bare-chested. Type of headgear: Just give him messy hair. Type of facial expression: Angry/Imposing Color on torso/legs: black or yellow or both. Accessory: A champion's belt. I would suggest a metal chair but I guess that goes against TLG's do no evil standards... Would be cool if he used the longer legs from toy story's Woody.
  3. I wish Frankeinstein would have used Woody's legs. But he is perfect as is. And yeah, nothing can really beat the expression in the artist's face. I do hope the transparent part of the safety suit can be used in other helmets.
  4. Weakest for me would be the werewolf. It looks like a mutant elf or something like that to me. I think the viking's axe is made of two pieces. An even smaller light saber rod and the axe.
  5. Not adding horns to the viking, would have made happy the hundreds of AFOLs that want historically accurate things , but most kids would have been disappointed without horned helmets... Even I would. They could have used any other common accessory in garden gnomes. For example, google images' first page for "garden gnome" has many different accessories, I would have liked a pipe.
  6. Turns out he does have one, but it is hard to see due to the sailor in the first pic. So you may see it in the second.
  7. I don't like that the garden gnome has a fishing rod for no reason. Making him look almost like a repeat of the series 3 fisherman.
  8. hmnn, I have learned not to trust that plug design. I think it has a 20% chance not to work in a computer, and it gets worse after using it many times. But the whole idea is really nice.
  9. I appreciate that TLG is picking the female figs better and is not going with stereotypical stuff, except for the Geisha, but who on earth is going to complain about having a LEGO Geisha available? I mean really.
  10. lol, that's an Argentinian soccer player. I have not ever seen so much ego inside a single LEGO minifig :P The nuclear suit guy is going to be a must for me, wish I could have a small army of them already.
  11. The first 8 throwbots were two waves of four. At least that's how I remember it. I remember that the first time I went to the store, only turbo, ski, torch and scuba were around. Then a year later the remaining slizer appeared. The first 4 slizers, turbo, ski, torch and scuba only had advertising to the four slizers and the combiner in the catalog that was included. Then I think the other four slizers appeared later, they had all 8 slizers in their catalog. Also, of these four slizers (Amazon, jet, electro, granite) only Amazon used the build that was used in the first four. The other three all used different a new 'torso' piece. When I saw Blaster and Flare's (whom were definitely another wave) included catalog I think the first four slizers were not listed, but my memory is fuzzy about this.
  12. Subjective, that example looks much better to me than many bionicle waves at least. Slizers lasted three waves, and that's a relative success considering how it was TLG's first try in regards to action figures and the build system was so immature. When you compare with the more recent roboriders or the Barah magna waves... 3 waves is not bad at all in my opinion. Bionicle lasted many waves but I don't think it is really for the merit of the sets but because somehow TLG wanted a long history based stuff. No theme should last so much time no matter how good. There are differences in certain points of time, that you wonder if 2004-2005 and 2006-2009 could have been called different themes if it wasn't for the story... And I sometimes wonder if Bionicle should have really lasted that long. It certainly did not have a positive effect on the community with a large part of it getting zealously locked into Bionicle and not wanting to move on later. That's one of the reasons I think/hope HF will last only 3-4 waves or it may even end in the 2nd.
  13. I went to the toy store today out of boredom. The clerk told me that they have casually found an unsold minifig series 2 bag. It was the last one so I just bought it instantly. At home I found out it was the mime!
  14. Lincoln was definitely the greatest president. I mean, 6'3'' , no president is going to get any taller than that. Anyway, regarding my fact, it is not meant to correlate. But I guess you may one day see it in a list of Lincoln-Kennedy similarities, but with Johnson's height changed by one inch so that the heights match. It is just one inch anyway and people reading these similarity lists are likely to fall for it. I mean, sometimes we just like finding these coincidences. Even though they don't really mean anything.
  15. In the worst case, You could use a camera to take pictures of the phone showing the pictures.
  16. As a matter of fact, yes. That thing was awful. But you mentioned a single set out of thousands. Plus Buzz' head was not used as an excuse to have the same exact set as Zurg but only with different colors and head. Bionicle on the other hand has been so guilty of that. I don't mind a unique mold every once in a while. But making that the only appeal of a whole theme. That each set has a unique piece and not a unique build was something I never liked about Bionicle.
  17. I didn't do anything personal in my post. I talked about the idea, mentioned that it will be affected by the law of unintended consequences and I made a clear example of how I think it will end. I don't see how exemplifying how would an idea have the complete opposite result of what it is intended to do would start a personal fight. A raw character limit has the same problem.
  18. Aw megabloks minifigures. They are just...wrong. - "Hey what can we do to make this PotC set even worse?" - "I got an idea! Let's make an uncanny valley Jack Sparrow!"
  19. That's my point . The unique molds were too many times in Bionicle used as an excuse to have waves of clones. I think that by using things like the double sided masks, or by modifying the configuration of the mask, they could have had different builds and looks without over relying on different molds. No slizer had a mold unique to them and each managed to be unique in his way anyway. In many ways it promotes creativity when MoCing. Don't just use a mask, customize it to look like something unique. I would have loved them to be able to acquire water/jungle/fire/stone looks without having to resort to making up unique molds to do it. That's right.Somehow system sets have managed to be different from each other without making an exclusive mold for each. I am not saying that all sets should all use the same pieces. I am just sharing that no piece should be made specifically for a set. A LEGO piece should be versatile enough to work in at least two different sets no matter the element. And that's something great that is being accomplished with the villains IMHO.
  20. What is this? Am I wasting my time reading wikileaks cables gain?
  21. I don't think it is that great of an idea. This sort of solution just call for the law of unintended consequences...
  22. Lyndon Johnson (who succeeded Kennedy) had 6 feet 3 inches of height, 1 inch less than Lincoln. Andrew Johnson (who succeeded Lincoln) had 5 feet 10 inches of height, 2 inches less than Kennedy.
  23. I just noticed Imperial flag ship and not Imperial shuttle. It is the Imperial Flag ship 100%. If you like LEGO boats (And I bet you do else you wouldn't be giving it) then the Imperial Flag ship is a unique chance. The AT&T on the other hand, will most likely appear in shelves again in a couple of years and possibly in a better version...
  24. I am a third world student and I enjoy LEGO just fine. I guess that if you want a huge collection and to constantly buy the latest released large sets, it gets expensive. But if you just accept the existence of second hand LEGO and are patient it is not really that bad. I do think that new sets are usually overpriced. I think the reason for this is mainly that LEGO does not really have actual competition. Megabloks for example just fails to deliver the same quality in plastic and design and seems they are focusing more on competing with price instead of quality. So a guy looking for quality really has little to no options (The only option so far I have is New LEGO sets vs old LEGO sets, really). When you add up the cost of other hobbies, like drinking beer, LEGO starts to look inexpensive ^^.
  25. Megabloks quality varies. I buy from flea markets a lot. And TLG pieces are almost always mixed up with some megabloks and other things. So I spend quite some time sorting clones and bootlegs out. I can say that most of the times, the quality difference is just obvious and you can spot the megabloks piece from far apart. But there are some megabloks parts, I am not sure what year that are a lot closer to LEGO's parts than usual. So much that I sometimes have found megabloks stuff in my sorted bins because I just didn't notice while pre-sorting and sorting. Most of the other clone pieces are much worse quality than mega bloks though.
