  1. Are you seriously complaining about getting extras? It is ok if you don't use them. Just keep them. Because they usually give extras for pieces that are easy to lose. The availability of extras have saved my sets in the past. Even if that doesn't happen to you. You have to admit, it is a children product, and children are surely going to need those extras. And if you really have a ton of extras. Here is a link you will find useful: http://www.bricklink.com Cheese slopes are awesome.
  2. 3933 Is wonderful. I will have to get that little remote control robot regardless of the girl minifig. It is so weird that such a set wouldn't happen in a town setting. It is great also to see LEGO not sticking to stereotypical things here. I mean, look at those tools. And that telescope, and the board with equations. Why exactly can't "boys" themes have something like this?
  3. It seems they are really taking this theme seriously. The vehicles are very interesting. I think I might get the blue plane. that boat is surely going to be loved among historical/legend AFOLs at least for the bricks. Excellent detail in those snakemen. It seems this is the successor to Atlantis / Pharaoh's quest in regards to cool monster minifigs.
  4. Don't exaggerate. It is not like they tried to go with minifig scale. They could have match it instead of 'getting closest'. They may think normal minfigs won't sell, but everything points towards they not being good at determining what sells and what does not in the girls market. Everyone is so all right with Technic figs are so all right that they are incredibly hard to find in MoCs. The best thing about this theme is that with the inevitable fail in sales, the sets will be be very discounted and make great parts packs. At least some of the good designs and pieces will be put in use.
  5. Everyone except Hulk look good/better. The Joker I don't know because it is hard to see exactly what's going on there. With Hulk I am still hoping that silver is preliminary.
  6. lookie what I found: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Mr-Z/Temp/lego_itp_070.jpg Boy, that T-rex is disappointing. Albeit a good price tag would fix that problem.
  7. Dinos are all right. I would have really prefered buildable ones, but well. What to do... The color schemes of the vehicles is great. I may actually get the smaller sets if no sci-fi is coming.
  8. I think the minifigs with the most expensive accesories tend to be rarer. That is the reason the fisherman with the ultra long fishing rod was the hardest to find guy in series 3. That's it.
  9. Not at all. It is to expand its borders towards the market of buildable super hero figures. It actually has quite a following. The megabloks monstrosities that are as blocky but with more <insert that tiresome argument> designs turned out to do well in sales. So I think it may even be a request from Marvel/DC to do these sets.
  10. No giant robots?
  11. Space. You can't even enjoy your collection anymore because it is so crowded you don't get to see the sets in their own glory anymore. When you had a single Stronius back when dark ages ended, it was easier that way. You have tons and tons of pieces, but you don't really have tons and tons of creativity and thus you rarely really MoC and when you do, it is not nearly as good as what you see in the internet. You learned from Eurobricks that a great third wave for Space Police III was coming. You made very serious plans about buying some of those sets, including getting 3 Raid VPRs. The year ends and none of your retailers actually got them. But of course they were full of stuff you never wanted in the first place, like PoP and HP sets. You wonder if the same will happen to Alien Conquest.
  12. LEGO itself may be paying more attention to Space now than years ago. But SW's existence is still having negative effects to space. And I am talking about retailers. Specifically my retailers, which seem to have only shelf space and will for a limited number of licenses and last year they decided not to bring any Space Police III because (and I quote) they already have SW anyway. So I go to look for space stuff and they offer me SW. I am right now very afraid of them not bringing Alien Conquest this year.
  13. Many Ben 10 parts were very resistant and very interesting. Some of them like the diamond things I even miss right now. And the most important ones were added to HF later. Their smooth feel was a good predecessor for HF and I have seen a great MoC using system and Ben 10 bricks to make a medieval Dragon that looks much better than LEGO's most recent tries at it. Now Superheroes are way more compatible with HF (for better or worse (ie how they look too inorganic)). But I wouldn't make judgments about them being good parts packs yet. The main reason Ben 10 failed there was because they were too overpriced for you to purchase them for parts. And we still don't know what the price of the Super hero figures will be. I kind of fear that since they will be licensed sets and for a more popular concept than Ben 10, the prices may actually be as bad as Ben 10...
  14. Hero Factory sets seem to be selling way better than Glatorian sets in here with 2.0 heroes actually getting hard to find a couple of months after they arrived and filled the stores. Other than that anecdotal evidence I don't really know.
  15. All the other info we got from that site seemed coherent with things we knew were coming to the other themes and that were confirmed by the retailer catalog. And it also included a new logo for LEGO dino that was clearly LEGO-made.
  16. A real rendition of the idea of a mothership would be a set with an ADU officer asking a crazy farmer about his experiences. And you get to see a 2x2 tile with a drawing of what the farmer believes is the mothership.
  17. So, what happened to the planet sets?
  18. I doubt it. All the other new molds are already visible and the surgeon already has a new piece in that glorious X-ray sheet. So I don't think there would be a reason for the syringe to be preliminary. But if things are so preliminary here, then I am hoping the pajamas guy turns out to have small minifig legs.
  19. I never said I was surprised. Doesn't change that I don't like it.
  20. The mothership looks like would be a portal, has sound and a cool minifig. If you like bulky looking UFOs get the one from the abduction set and you'll be set.
  21. During the time of the leaked pictures from that Chinese site. Some pictures of the minotaur disassembled appeared. I am pretty sure the horns won't detach. Edit: Found the pictures: http://i.imgur.com/Vl2Cv.jpg Now I am not very sure what to make of it. I had recollections of not seeing the horns detached from the head, but on closer inspection, there appears to be a smaller cylinder in one of the horns which could hint that it is another piece.
  22. lady liberty seems sand green to me. It is probably a combination of bad lighting and the position of the statue
  23. We spend a lot of time in stores and it is easy to see anecdotally when something is selling well or warming the shelf for a while. It is anecdotal but it is not that bad.
  24. ^ Not going to happen until series 7 at least, I think. The pic already contains all 16 figures to be used in series 6. Wow. You are right about the key. This is a great series.
  25. Finally. I knew we were going to get a robot for that torso. This is a great series for sci-fi. I just hope the series arrives here (series 3 didn't arrive due to bad timing between its release date and the time in which stores order new stuff here) Edit: Is that a grown up fig in pijamas with a giant Teddy bear? I don't really care about historical figs, but that legionary is very well done. Plus that shield is going to make it very easy to find by feeling the contents of the bag. Hopefully will get three or four.
