What do they mean by moulded? If the dinosaurs are like Dino 2010, it would be an unlikeable theme to me. If instead they are more brick-built creatures like what you see in Pharaoh's quest or atlantis, the theme would be great.
-
Disney won't issue licenses unless they intend to release a movie related to it. So, we won't have a tarzan theme unless there is a sequel or remake coming. Etc.

That's actually the most objective way to measure the success of a girls' theme of a toy brand...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
vexorian replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The analogy does not work that well. These are pictures of the figures and no specifications for the molds / printed elements. Nevertheless, the best way to avoid your code to appearing without your consent everywhere is to avoid adding an economical benefit to spreading the code without permission, aka don't make the code secret in the first place. And that's the thing, if TLG released early pictures of their stuff, they wouldn't need to protect their ideas. Because competitors would already become unable to copy them without everyone noticing. They are completely entitled to ask for removal of the pics, but that does not mean it is true that they have to do it with such urgency. Anyway, BS gallery, for anyone who hasn't seen the pictures yet to take advantage of it before it gets wiped: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=480183 -

That TLG believe earlier pictures are risky is understandable. And they are in their right to ask for deletion as they own the copyright on these things. However, I think it is rather lame. If employees in China plant are able to take out production things and sell them. Then I would say that any competitor wanted to get information already knew that they were coming long before they were posted in the site. In this specific case, the pictures have been around for so long already before TLG started asking for them to be removed that it seems pretty pointless to do it today. People (and competitors) are one google search away of finding all the pictures. -
Girls that like Polly Pocket-style things will buy Polly Pocket. It is likely that it will be less expensive anyway.

I wouldn't put any money on them being fake. But it is most likely they are not final. Accessories may/will change. The Statue of liberty has a piece backwards in the only pic of her we have right now and it is very likely that the space gal has a different accessory (probably a pink/black gun with a different ray color). -
Licensing and demand are the real issue. Street fighter and Tekken may arguably be only as violent as LEGO's own games, but the licensing and the demand issues make this sound impossible.

I think it is likely that torso will be used somewhere else. Hopefully in another series 6 figure. Though there are also plenty of chances this other robot will be 'female' o_O. -
I doubt boys feel anatomically identified with Bionicle. Precedents, precedents, precedents. I can't trust TLG's market research in the case of girl themes because their market research has always flopped in this market. The default should then be really not to trust them rather than to trust them. They have to earn their trust in this regard and they seem to have not done it. They can't even get the benefit of the doubt because what they are doing has already failed before. The new theme is on the inside still belville but with slightly better figures and belville flopped. Bionicle is a valid risk to think because boys are already in the market range. With girls themes TLG are trying to get girls into the hobby, and I don't think that making figures that are visually and scale-wise incompatible with minifis will let the girls stay in their hobby. Bionicle has been bad at that with plenty of kids not even figuring out they are a LEGO product. -- It is annoying that Megabloks seem to have a better handle in this. At least they know that if they are going to use figures different than their figures, it is best to use a license. The Smurfs and Hello Kitty are a lot more attractive than "Friends" because if you are going to have non-LEGO minifigures in a set, you may as well get famous characters that already have a girl following.

The Dwarf is awesomely detailed though. But we have not seen what accessory will the minotaur get. -
Instructions too easy? Since when is that a bad thing? The idea to have comics was great, the execution is terrible but this is a niche product from the extended line anyway. I don't see this of any indication of a decline in LEGO city quality o_O.

It was the same picture I posted in the Superheroes thread in the action figures forum : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57920&st=75 (And it belongs there, really, it is not the head of the Joker minifig, but the head of the action figure)

It began as a shadow crawler remake. I liked the shadow crawler's weapon arms, and disliked basically everything about it, specifically the lack of articulation and how it wasn't a real tripod. After many iterations of the idea the thing looks like a different concept was used as it stopped looking like the shadow crawler. Nevertheless here it is. I am sorry about the bad pictures, it was some time between taking them and processing them with Gimp that I finally noticed I don't know anything about taking and processing pictures. (Click to zoom (a little)

Ninjago spinners : 10$ , a spinner three, accessories and a ninja. Planets : 10$, a Starwars minifig, a mini vehicle and a planet. At this moment, it seems that the planets have more value than the ninjago spinners. And somehow the spinners manage to sell like uber pancakes. Even here. I think the planets are a great idea, although the initial selection is a little underwhelming. The TIE interceptor with pilot is great. But then the naboo pilot is just so-so. And finally, Sebulba, I am not sure they are iconnic enough. Imagine something like Snowtrooper and AT-AT that would be just kickass. Hopefully, TLG will try the planets idea for more than a wave.

Yes, bigger: -
Not at all. It is more like BelVille with less articulation and cartoony (not creepy) faces. And slightly larger than a minifig, probably the same size as a 4+ figure.
-
They flew my brickshelf which is funny because all the other images from that site are still in my gallery. I would say that probably BS' admins didn't think it was LEGO or for some reason TLG worries a lot about leaks of this girl theme and not so much about CM. Unfortunately, since I don't care much about them, I seem to have removed my images from my computer once I uploaded them to BS.

Oh gosh, it makes me so sad that these winter sets don't arrive here. I would have purchased all three of them and replaced my outdated Christmas decoration with them. They are so sweet. It is a great streak for LEGO as the three of them are gorgeous.

^ What are you talking about? -
I think I will love the planets for 10.00 if the mini vehicles and the figures are picked well. Edit: Oh, so we already know which sets. Mini Tie and Tie pilot? Sign me in! The only way I am not getting this "planet" set (or even 2) is if the design of the Mini Tie is really, really lame.

Which 2011 second wave sets are you getting?
vexorian replied to exxtrooper's topic in LEGO Action Figures
So far I think I might get Raw jaw and two stringers (for the pieces). Most likely will focus on Alien conquest this year.
